That book’s too hard. For reference, books for teenagers are usually B2 level and adult books C1. Based on what you mentioned about your German level, it sounds to be about A1.
Try graded readers like this one if you want to practice reading.
There’s nothing more discouraging with a language then trying to read a book and having to look up 95% of the words.
Espanol con Juan is great for lower intermediate.

Depending on your skill level. For beginners though, "Learn German with Stories" series is a fantastic place to start.

I thought this book series are great.
They are basic enough for you to read through understandably. Every chapter has a section to explain difficult words too. Its about an italian guy who goes thru various german cities (starting with book 1 = berlin) and his experiences and problems. The books aren't super long either.
There's quite a bit of stereotype in there but i think it's ok since it gives you confidence and also gives you a bit of cultural background across germany.
If you go to Amazon and click on the cover, you can get an idea if this is what you're looking for or not. I'd say it is for beginners who understand the basics and how the language works. Since your flair says A1, most books published for native speakers will be beyond you at this stage. Try searching for "easy readers", books written with deliberately simplified grammar and vocabulary for learners. Café in Berlin seems to be one of the more popular ones for beginners.

If you search for "Spanish reader" on amazon you will find many possibilities. In your shoes I would try the top-selling <em>Muerte en Buenos Aires</em>.
