My shop is very small (10' x 16') so I decided to ditch my crummy bench top router table and get this cast iron table saw extension. I found an Amazon warehouse deal for about $50 off that said the product was 100%, only the box was damaged. Instead of the cast iron table what I received was a couple pieces of plywood screwed together and painted silver. Whoever did this even took the time to cut dados for the miter gauge slots. Oddly enough the fence was still in the package but the sliding MDF pieces were also replaced with plywood.
Luckily Amazon is great and immediately refunded/shipped another, but just thought I'd rant/share -- I was so excited to use this table yesterday!
You just need to swap out to a different collet size.
Mine came with few different sizes. Just don't get the speed chuck, it leaves dents in the brass.
Oh man! This is so me and my problem. I haven’t ordered it yet, but wouldn’t an edge guide work for getting these inside cuts?
I believe that’s the correct answer, here is another similar one so you can see it from different angles
https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-Deluxe-Extraction-Adapter-RA1054/dp/B00005RHPP/
Maybe there is missing part for the edge?
Don't know about the Ryobi router, but I've got the Jessem insert for my tablesaw router area.
Might depend on what you consider "cost effective".
Dremel sells collet sets so different sized bits will work. I know how was able to use a Dremel for both bits on my 19 build.
Unless you are cutting through nails or gravel or something, a good blade should stay sharp for a long time. Either what you're using is not a good blade, or they're likely just dirty.
Use a good cleaner and a brass wire brush or something to clean it up. Problem solved.
I use this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003OC35MQ?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details
Thanks man, I've calmed down now and have 5x FEP sheets on order which'll arrive tomorrow, scratching new things / not being able to keep everything spotless was really bugging me and not being able to get rid of the weird ghost residue on my FEP, after having just permanently scratched my UV shield (which isn't a huge deal) got to me.
On the plus side, I've got some industrial residue remover coming tomorrow which may help clean my UV shield, and it'll be a good practice to change out the FEP screen with the new ones coming tomorrow :)
There definitely are! However the "stock" Dremel collet is 1/8th, so you'd need to get the collet set (or a 3/32" if you can get it as a single).
The edge guide is a great addition for this item.
Diablo is a great brand, definitely not the best, but at the price point they are great. I've never used Avanti pro but I have some Avanti and they are junk. If all the factory blades that come with saws, Makita is the only one that is good, DeWalt and Milwaukee are bad, Bosch was decent, but Makita has been the only one I keep until it goes bad.
In use this to clean my blades, Trend CLEAN. It works great and is biodegradable. It might be similar to simple green.
Buy a product called tool cleaner from trend. It’s amazing! Sold on Amazon for only $10.

I'll take that bet and then just not answer mwahaha!
J.k. You can just drill it, but if its a cast iron table there might be a reinforcement rib somewhere you need to put a hole which is a pain, for the most part you can just grind it off as long as you don't take off too much material and it'll be fine. Alternatively, just make a new top out of melamine/mdf and get a new plate. Benchdog makes plates that fit pretty much everything, but theres other cheaper ones on amazon.
Or call it an opportunity to upgrade to a proper lift. I like the jessem, hard to beat for the price.
I've had that same router for a few years now. Best one I have ever had.
I got the matching Bosch Router Cabinet for mine, but to be honest, save your money. It doesn't fit well in there, and there are plenty of other better ones you can get for the price. If I had it to do over, I would have bought a non-Bosch branded universal router table insert and made my own table.

The bosch 1617 is a top notch handheld router, best on the market.
The benchtop router table is a bit of a different story. Too small for my taste and their small size makes them rattle and vibrate excessively unless you bolt it down tight, even then not ideal. Some people with small shops like that they can stow them away when not in use though I guess. Anyway, you can steal the table surface off it and attach it to your table saw or build a bigger cabinet for it if you already have it though. The bosch system uses a router lift base adapter that is OK, not as good as a proper lift but it gets the job done, mostly, and is a lot cheaper.
I find it really annoying to have to swap my router in and out of the table, switch bases around and what not, so I have a dedicated router in a lift and then a separate handheld router (well several actually). But if you are on a budget and don't mind living with the hassle the 1617 is more than adequate for table operation.
If you have a Bosch, they sell an under-table base that adjusts via an allen key - https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-RA1165-Under-Table-Router-Above-Table/dp/B0007VHPFK/ref=sr_1_2

Two things about that:
You should use the Dremel collets because you can see the bite marks from the 3 points from the keyless chuck on some of your pins. I had that problem too.
Also, to reduce the wobble, cut the 100mm brass rod down to 3rds and push the stock as far into the dremel as possible. 33mm should give you enough material to work with and have enough stock in the dremel to stabilize it.
Personally I like to play with the baggie of pins to figure out what I can do before I commit to the brass stock.
I actually bought a new motor and base for mine. The pair is pretty affordable sometimes from CPO (~$100).
However, you can do just the base, and swap it out easier!: The base is here: https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-RA1165-Under-Table-Router-Above-Table/dp/B0007VHPFK/ref=pd_bxgy_469_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=0S7RNVNBGCZTFHKAA550
Yea, the extension table wood was falling apart from a prior move anyhow, so you can guarantee I was looking at Kreg inserts last night.
Also, this looks awesome. https://www.amazon.com/Bench-Dog-Tools-40-102-Extension/dp/B001TDLSUS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471389466&sr=8-1&keywords=40-102
I think I got a solid deal at 400.
I bought a clamp-on straight edge similar to this a while back. It works great for both my saw and router. It's only downfall is that it will slide if you put too much pressure on it. I think I got mine for around $30 at Menards.

Do you know if there is a kernel for this router?
Bosch Under-Table Router Base is the table mount. The package came with the router, this base, the plunger base, and a case. $170 total. It was a split package though, not everything in one box.
I was worried about the rails supporting it too. When I got it, the manual said it doesnt need to mount on the rails. Mine is a craftsman, so it's a 4 bolt battern to mount the aluminum extension to the cast iron. This is all it needs to mount to your table, so no rail support.
There are some pre drilled holes that lined up with my rails, but it definitely doesn't need it so I didn't use it. Even with the router and work pieces on it, it's very sturdy. I wish it was a delta saw though because theirs is a 3 bolt pattern and the bolts for it were enormous.
This is the amazon link to the exact one I bought. I absolutely love it. I also ordered the Bench Dog aluminum router plate despite a few reviews saying theirs wasn't flat. Not sure about the other peoples, but mine was perfect.
I think that a cutting guide like http://www.amazon.com/E-Emerson-Tool-C50-Contractor/dp/B003TXSAHU is better than that one; you can cut at whatever width you like, rather than being limited to a 24" width. And honestly, it's not hard to cut a length of plywood and simply use that as your cutting guide.
Thanks for the reply! The one I'm using is quite similar to that Harbour Freight one yes: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B001NIK6PC?keywords=router%20speed%20control&qid=1440215908&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
I can get a PID and an SSR for 50$ you say? I was under the assumption PID's were quite expensive (The ones used for roasters and coffee machines I've seen anyway) I am all ears though. :)
P.S. I got the idea for the Router Speed Control from people who use it for the same purposes I do so, perhaps my problem is model specific.
I'm not sure if it's the same as what you linked, but I have the dust collection attachment that came with the edge guide. It attaches either to the edge guide or to the plunge base in place of the plastic shield. I haven't actually used it so I can't comment about whether it's effective.
