There was a DVD edition briefly in 2006 that had them.
Edit: This had the theatrical cut, there're also editions for Empire and Return
Buy the TNG Blu-rays homie, if everyone had done that we'd have DS9 and Voyager on Blu-ray by now!
Assuming you're in North America, there's really only one line of DVDs in print for the first Dragon Ball TV series: the five blue season bricks. These were released from 2009-2010. That's all there is right now, and they are readily available on sites like RightStuf and Amazon. There is no word on any future re-release of the series, remastered/HD or otherwise.
If you are exclusively watching the franchise in English and are for some reason or another incapable of being convinced otherwise, please watch the Kai version of the Dragon Ball Z portion for something resembling an accurate script and atmosphere.
Real talk: entire franchise, Japanese with English subtitles, beginning to end, no items, Final Destination.
FYI, if you’re interested in the complete series on blu-Ray, Amazon has a very good deal right now for $47.49.
No financial involvement, just a big proponent of physical media.
Yes, but you'd probably have to buy it used through Amazon or eBay. Just search on those websites. I own this one, but it's currently absurdly priced, because I'm assuming it's out of print and can only be bought used now.
This is what you're interested in.
HOWEVER, it doesn't have The Plan or Blood & Chrome. I'm not aware of any "complete series" set sold in the US that has both of those, too. Also, it lacks the webseries, "Face of the Enemy," which was released on disc only in Japan.
I got the silver box Bluray collection, and it including most everything. None of the webisodes, but all the extended episodes, Razor and the Plan. Got it for $90 before tax.

I have this one It has the 2 part movie premier, all seasons with regular and extended episodes, It has The Plan and Razor and even has the web series called 'The Resistance'
It does NOT have the 'Face of the Enemy' web series tho. That can be watched online here
If you do want to check out the films for yourself, start with A New Hope but I recommend to look for the so called "limited edition" on dvd. Like this one here, but don't order it off of Amazon. Just get it from a local movie trading store, you can call them and ask if they have a limited editon in stock. (My local store sold Empire Strikes Back limited for $17)
It's a long story but the director, George Lucas, messed with the original theatrical versions with crappy CGI edits. It's a nitpick with some scenes, but others are ruined by the updated scenes. That's why alot of people don't recommend watching any new version of the original trilogy until the un-edited version is finally released. (Disney, get to work on it!)
Just order the collection. Its still in stock on amazon
I purchased this set for my first watch of the series: Amazon Link. No issues with compatibility that I experienced; good quality.
It's got the mini-series, the complete series including extended versions of some episodes, and Razor. It's missing The Plan, but I think this box set is a pretty good value - it's really decently priced compare to other box sets.
This LOST complete series set is expensive, but it's pretty damn awesome. I got mine on eBay a few years ago for $260-something.
EDIT: According to the reviews on that Amazon page, best not to buy that particular one. Search for the same product on eBay.
when they re-released them in ~2007 as individual movies not just as the box set the first disc is the remaster BS and the second disc of "bonus features" are the untouched theatrical releases i have them and love them, if they would do that again for blu-ray would re buy but i dont want them damn recut shits
this is the version i am referring to http://smile.amazon.com/Star-Wars-IV-Hope-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1445365633&sr=1-2&keywords=star+wars+dvd
64 bucks for the entire series, the miniseries, razor, and a ton of extras. It came out before the plan was released so it obviously doesn't have it. I know you said streaming but at this price there really is no excuse not to. Plus the video quality will be better than streaming.
This is the box set I purchased and it does include "The Plan". I was honestly thinking it included Razor as well but that doesn't show in the description so I will have to check on that.
There was, but it was a fancy collector's edition set that was really expensive to begin with and now even more expensive since it was limited edition and no longer being made. There's no basic complete series set in the U.S. like from the U.K., but even that is expensive too.
Fuck yes. I had recently ordered this son of a bitch and have been enjoying every minute of it for a proper rewatch. I have every single thing they ever did with this reimagined version of the series pirated, but felt it was time to own some legit copies for once (as well was enjoy better quality than my damn downloads).
In 2006 the unaltered OT was released as a DVD bonus disc, here’s an Amazon link if your interested https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_3AZGBE0ZVBZ4G341S4PJ you could also find them on eBay, and I should be coming out with part 5 soon so keep a look out
Well do I have news for you, in 2006 the unaltered version of ANH, TESB, and ROTJ was released as a DVD bonus disc for each film here’s the Amazon link Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AWVC771TPSWVPMHTM9WD
Hey, quick question for anyone who comes in here, but finding the full length version of Razor in the UK is a real pain in the ass, but I think I might have tracked it down. Is this the right bundle? It says it has Razor and the broadcast version of Razor, but does that mean that the main Razor it has is the full length version?
I don't know what region you live in, but if you're looking for a North American or NTSC/Region-1 release, then the remastered "blue brick" DVD sets are the overall best option currently available. The original DB series hasn't been made available on Blu-ray anywhere yet that I'm aware of.
I bought the first season off of amazon. Other seasons might be a couple bucks higher though.
I’m happy your enjoying it as well!
Dragon Ball: Season 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002FOQXTQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oR2mCbCZ9NZ8K
Just looked on Amazon real quick, I'm sure you can find else where for cheaper, point being it's out of print so now people are milking it. Blade Runner 5 disc
> (I don't have a 4k screen anyway!)
The blu-rays of TNG are 1080, not 4K. But if you can spend the money, the complete set of TNG on blu-ray is $118.47US on Amazon right now.
Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series [Blu-ray] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036EH3U2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0rloDb45E6Z96
This is the only complete set. It's the remastered Blu-ray set with Razer, plan, minisodes and webisodes. You would still need Blood and Chrome and Caprica but those aren't technically a part of BSG2004.
You can get the season Blurays on Amazon new for around $200. You just have to buy each season individually. The box set is out of print so that's gonna be more expensive.
It's actually 12 years old now, only 3 of the 5 discs are blu-rays, but it contains all 5 cuts of the film: Final, Director's, Theatrical (US & International) and the Workprint. It was replaced by a reauthored 3 disc Collector's Edition in 2012 with only blu-rays. https://www.amazon.com/Runner-Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4/ref=tmm_blu_title_16?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1561159006&sr=8-18 https://www.amazon.com/Blade-Runner-Anniversary-Collectors-Blu-ray/dp/B008M4MB8K/ref=tmm_mfc_title_2?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1561159006&sr=8-18
I concur with the second point. If you can't afford to at the moment but you end up really enjoying the series, i suggest buying the blu-ray of BSG which has a plethora of additional content. It's super worth it. This is the one i bought (and also one of the cheapest, but it's very good quality).
Thank you for the info. Would you recommend I get the US release or the UK one? I don't mind paying more if one is better than the other. (Better packaging, more content, etc.)
Looks like the UK one is region-free, which I think might matter if I want to convert them to my home media server? I'd like to make some H.265 files out of them.
The best release would be the latest Blu-ray set, though I suggest looking at our FAQ before making your decision.
