I thought Paul Holes audio book was worth the price. A lot of old information, but I thought it had enough behind the scenes discussion to make it worth the price.

It's much like a podcast. The main narrator is an FBI agent with clips of Paul Holes, victims, victims' families and other law enforcement interspersed throughout.

It details basically every day of the shooting and really gives an impression of how it must have felt to live in the DC area at the time. It also gives a lot of attention to each victim and their families.
Yup, I think most of his victims were found near West Farms mall. And he frequented the Berlin Turnpike. This book was written about him by a woman in the town I grew up in. Book
FUN FACT: Sebastian Junger once came home to see his mom, and was flipping through some old photos she'd left out on the kitchen table. He froze when he came to a picture of his mom holding him as a baby, in their home, with an old man standing behind her... and Albert DeSalvo standing next to the old man.
Apparently, his mother hired the Boston Strangler to build an artist's studio in their backyard. Junger's mom even recalled a tale of DeSalvo showing up one day without the old man, and trying to lure her into the basement. Creepy. It's all in his book, A Death in Belmont.
I'd suggest the two books of the trilogy, that has been written by Mark Hewitt. They are the most detailed books about the case, that I've read so far (A little bit dry, but you really get most of the information there is) - The third book is unfortunately Hewitts pet theory, that the unabomber Ted Kaczynski is the Zodiac, haven't read that so far, but I give him credit for his first two books.
If you got those, I'd recommend 'Americans Jack The Ripper' by Soren Korsgaard. Don't you start with Horans blackpill book. It will only influence your perception about the case, read it later.
And maybe more importantly, don't read anything from Robert Graysmith. That guy is nothing but a fabulist.
