Invest in a safety razor and some blades and you will be set. Those 200 blades should last you for a decade unless you shave daily.
Im not kidding. Safety razor blades are mere pennies and the razor should last longer than you.
Truth. Around $20 for a decent razor, $11 for a box of 100 blades. Very good shave and 11 cents per refill.
Edit: Since everyone's asking what I have: WEISHI Nostalgic Long Handle Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PKHIDRA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_9pHzBb521CC24 only $16 now. Very happy with it, great quality. The butterfly opening costs a little more but is worth it for the quick and easy blade change.
Yeah I'd sometimes be in that dilemma for jobs and interviews, especially since I don't grow a full beard.
Do I keep my half-beard and look like a bum who lives with mom? or do I clean shave and look like I have leprosy on my face?
Turns out having a good shave regiment, the right razors, proper technique, and after-care products helps immensely, shoutout to /r/wicked_edge, and Tendskin
Probably will be buried.
Most people are posting about manscaping but I'd like to offer a method instead of just saying do it. I use a product called magic shave powder, link below. It's like Nair but won't fry your skin and will leave you porn-star smooth. Just add water, stir until it becomes creamy and apply to area for 5-10 minutes. Then just wash it off and watch the hair fall away. A trim before had would be best so you can get the cream onto the skin.
Trust me, it works amazingly. Link:

Check out the reviews on amazon (lots of dudes use on their face after shave to take care of redness, bumps, irritation and ingrown hairs).
I am a girl with serious ingrown hair issues (for years, shaving, waxing, laser.. everything), I found this at target and I swear my legs are starting to look like "normal" legs now, I apply with a cotton pad on dry skin after shower, I also apply a regular moisturizer after to fight the dryness of the product)
Btw, this smells very strong and do a patch test first! (Like, this is no joke stuff) Also, check out their website in case you are using any BHA/AHA or pretty much any acidic stuff to see how to be careful about that.
400 blades, $32

They last about a week, a good bit less than gillette cartridges - but they cost about eight cents each.
Use Tend Skin Care Solution and then apply balmex. It will be cleared up pretty quickly. Do the 2 step process at night before you go to bed and put on underwear - it will be almost resolved overnight.
In the future, get your bum waxed.

Yeah you can’t just go cold turkey and switch to bohemian if that’s not your vibe.
But I’m curious how old OP is? This was definitely a theme of my early-mid twenties when I would shave, blow dry, dye, full makeup. Then late twenties / early-thirties hit and I had this slow moving beautiful revelation: fuck it.
OP maybe you’re starting your late twenties fuck it journey?
I still love girly rituals and have a couple that I stick to, but a lot I now reserve for special occasions only.
Hair > I drop a dime, but on a low maintenance cut and an ombré style that grows out without a bad root situation. So it looks nice and I only need to go in like every 5mo (I’m sure more regular cuts would be better for my hair health but ehhh).
Shaving > pretty much don’t give a fuck about my legs anymore. I’m genetically blessed with mostly blonde leg hair, but have an anklet of black hair that I mostly no longer care about. I did get this amazing cheap wet dry electric razor that totally works wonders for quick touch ups. Takes one minute to get the ankle hair and then I’m done. Now, I have spent a ton of money on underarm laser hair removal treatments though, which have been an awesome investment. Once that’s settled, you only need to go in for a baby touch up every 4-5mo or so.
Makeup > 2 min face of mascara, blush, tinted sunscreen. I look professional, though not as “good” as I could look. But fuck it! Special occasions I play and have fun because I like it!
Nails > Yes. I still spend time and money on nails at the salon every two weeks. This is partially because I love the hour of pampering, but also because my fingernails are brittle wrecks and I don’t have the patience to do gel at home.
If you buy them in bulk (100 pc), you can easily pay under $ 0.10 per blade (I like the Astra Platinum).
Was it this one? I have used this electric razor for the past 7 or so years. I replace it once a year or so.
I tried another Panasonic model that had a swivel head for curves and I hated it. It never seemed to get any kind of decent shave.
I like the Panasonic I linked… You definitely don’t get as close a shave with an electric in general, but I can go two days or so in between and I don’t get any razor burn. I have used it on my bikini area before and didn’t have any major issues, though you have to be careful not to snag skin… it works a lot better on my legs and underarms. The bikini area was always a bit harder to get smooth. I had to pull the skin taught and go from different angles. I get a bikini wax now, because it is just easier for me to keep up with.
Honestly, the electric razor is a godsend for me and I am sad you had such a bad experience. Maybe you got a dud?
I use an electric shaver and use it every time before I apply my makeup. I'm South Asian, so I have a lot of chin hairs and upper lip hair that grow in. I normally pluck my thick chin hairs but other wise I use the electric shaver. I use this Panasonic one which I've had FOR YEARS. It's cheap and very effective. It definitely helps with makeup application and honestly only takes less than a minute to shave my whole face and neck area.
Buy shaving powder on Amazon, mix it 1 to 1 with water and just coat your body, wait 15 minutes, it's gentle unlike Nair and doesn't burn, just wash off with a warm cloth and all the hair is gone, I'll post the Amazon link

Is this the shaver? Just making sure because I’m hoping this gets rid of my KP also!
And is it painful to use?
Tend skin.

Buy on amazon or at target. You apply it every night over the area you shaved and it eliminates razor bumps. I have can’t live without it at this point as I shave completely as well.
I hate to be that guy but the best shave I have ever gotten is from a safety razor. When I first bought it I got a handle and a box of razors for a total of like $30. That was about 3 years ago. Try it, and you won't go back to disposables ever again.
Just use a safety razor. I shave once.a week. A 20$ box of blades is enough to last me 80 years.
Seriously it's like magic, I've never even nicked myself once.
My favorite review on Amazon goes "I shave my balls with one side and my face with the other. Its probably gross, and I don't care. It works well."
I replied to the above comment but if you're looking for one I got this on Amazon and it's extremely well made.

Reported.
Recommending the Merkur Long Handle. Feather blades are great too. Super sharp though. Everyone has their preference.
8 ct pro Klinge ist nicht wirklich teuer und du bräuchtest auch nicht jeden Sticker damit bestücken. Für die Abschreckung reichte ja auch jeder zehnte oder zwanzigste o.ä.

This is for the UK Amazon page so if you are outside of the UK remember to switch. I believe it's a US brand though.
I just use a body hair trimmer, I also heard of a powder you can leave on your skin for a few minutes to completely get rid of any hairs. As good as it is you should do a patch test before applying it all over.
I shave often to keep a clean look, my advice is to use a double edge shaving razor, personally I think it gives the closest shave. And remember to shave in every direction to get everything. Heres a link to a razor similar to what I use, you can also pick one up at a walmart supercenter
Tend skin is wonderful stuff. There are other similar products on the market. Just use them for a couple of days after you shave.

I switched to an electric razor due to numbness and lymphedema. I thought I’d be able to keep using a regular razor but it’s really hard to judge how much pressure to use. My armpit hair is pretty sparse compared to what it was before chemo though, so that helps.
Here’s the one I got which has worked fine: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0018A32XS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_DPSZRY5TJ08N2ZM49S2N?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Ooooh I just found something on the holy grail product recs that I tried and found worked really well! It's called SoftSheen-Carson Magic Regular Strength Shaving Powder. It's targeted (I believe) towards African-American men who have sensitive skin and can't shave. It's a depilatory powder that you mix with water and spread over whatever area you want to remove hair from. It worked AMAZINGLY well on my legs & bikini area. Absolutely no sensitivity/tingling/redness/irritation and I haven't had any issue with ingrown hairs. The only issue is that it kind of smells? But honestly I didn't find it too bad (though I bought the yellow one which is labelled as "fragrant"). I found it at my local grocery store in the ethnic hair care section - it was less than $2. It's also available on Amazon.
Here's a link to the holy grail thread.
Isn't Manscaped just drop shipped china wares with a huge marketing budget? Paying influencers and YouTubers to peddle 5 dollar shavers.
I have one of these https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelco-Bodygroomer-BG7030-49/dp/B07H41JQVR
Works wonderfully and it's not overpriced. And yes I know it's made in china as well.
