For the mic, I recommend https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PlayStation-Camera-Bulk-Packaging-Pc/dp/B0072I2240/ if you're looking for something cheap that works. Were you able to get your Alexa working in headless mode? I couldn't get it to work following Amazon's documentation, had to reformat and do full OS install.
I was trying to convey to people just how easy it is to cheat, and I was saying that I'd like to demonstrate it, and they were getting uncomfortable with me saying that. I was hoping to spur people on to beef up security, but instead, it seemed that they rather just continue to ignore that it's possible. I can understand that adding barriers to entry is undesirable, but we have to think of the future. You can't just retroactively decide to add rules for videos that were already made. You can't invalidate all previous runs when you suspect one of being too good, and you can't be selective if there's no true sign of wrongdoing.
If you want to be sure there's a real person putting these inputs in, then a generalized (should work for pretty much anything) method that I'd propose is having mandatory hand cams. You can get a 120 fps camera for about $6 on Amazon right now.
Try plugging it in in a different room to rule out the outlet but more likely than not it's the power cable. If you want to save a bit of time, and you don't mind spending a few bucks, you can just buy a replacement cable like this one and see if that fixes the problem.
Want a longer battery life? Buy these fairly inexpensive items on Amazon:
USB Charge/Data cable: https://www.amazon.com/Data-Power-USB-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B000LEFKXC
Anker portable charger (chosen for form factor, battery size, and sale price): https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Ultra-Compact-Fast-Charging-Technology/dp/B01CU1EC6Y/ref=zg_bs_7073960011_10
My nearly identical setup used to work amazingly before I gifted my PSP.
Nope. The PS4 camera has a special plug and port that it goes into on the PS4. The PS3 doesn't have that camera port. The PS3 only has USB ports. But amazon has the PS3 camera for cheep ($6) in my opinion it would totally be worth it to get that too cause there are a few pretty fun games on the move. My favorites are both of the sports champions games (the first one being my favorite).
I have no idea if/what can be done with your iPad. BUT I can tell you that if you do want to play though FF7, go out and buy a used PS Vita. I'm sure you can find one cheap enough on craigslist or Amazon. The Vita is a FF machine along with a ton of other JRPG's in general. I love FF7 and have bought it on almost every platform it has come out on except apple. Cause screen controls for a game like that are the absolute worst. Don't limit yourself to a great game by playing it on a device it was never meant for. Go get a Vita, I swear by Odin's Beard you will thank me.
And if you buy a Vita, buy these handles. They increase the battery life by easily double and give a ultra comfortable grip while playing long term. Are they super bulky and hard to travel with? Yes. Absolutely. But they added benefits of the battery life and comfort with the grips GREATLY outweigh the awkward shape and size.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G9X4YRM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Many other electronics use this cord, so you may have another you can use as a temperary solution, or a permenant solution if the device you borrowed it from isnt used often.
But heres a amazon replacement. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B073QN2JBS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Y952B9X4E2KBK0VWSFR1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have to agree with Loco_ohno on this. I bought the power grip from Amazon mainly for the extended battery, but the grip is actually very comfortable. I am able to play until the battery dies with little to no issue. Ordering through Amazon was great as it is a Prime item and mine was brand new. I really hope that option helps. Plus Nyko, even being a third party device, is a fantastic company with great products. https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Power-Grip-PS-Vita-PCH-2000/dp/B00G9X4YRM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1503604637&sr=8-5&keywords=ps+vita+grip Link for new grip.
If you just want a cheap supported camera that gives good enough quality for monitoring, I like the PS3 Eye camera. You can get them on Amazon for $8. Supported by Linux out of the box and auto detected by Octopi
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PlayStation-Camera-Bulk-Packaging-Pc/dp/B0072I2240
Here is a pic I snapped from the octopi web interface just now.
I've recently read (though I can't find the source >< so it might be incorrect) xbox kinect is useless for motion controller (specifically move controller) tracking, it can't poll fast enough or something. But yeah, you can use a number of cameras I think, the PS3 eye camera is just under $5 on amazon prime though, so its a popular choice to track move controllers (and maybe could be used to track the headset, too, as the API I linked to in this thread now supports tracking multiple ps3 move / eye cameras).
That is awfully cumbersome. Having to wipe your PS Vita with an alternate account every time you want to remote play.
I have a better workaround... It costs ~ $30. Buy the Nyko Grip case for the PS Vita(this) and some generic 3rd party Vita thumb stick grips. It makes the PS Vita's tiny controls more accessible to adult size hands. I almost prefer the Vita grip now compared to the PS4 Dualshock.
The grip you're looking at seems like a case/grip hybrid. I'm not sure if you'd be able to squeeze a Vita in there with all those screen protectors and button covers you're looking at. See if anybody else has used it that can answer that.
When it comes to grips, I highly recommend the Nyko Power Grip. Sure, it's not as portable, but I imagine it's more comfortable in large hands than the one you linked to. The Vita pops in and out in a couple of seconds, and if you're gonna add bulk to the machine, why not couple it with a battery that doubles your playtime?

I have Nyko Power Grip For PS Vita Slim https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00G9X4YRM/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_TQEJKQECN1Y1CE4MZARH and a cheap L2 r2 grip for my 1000s that you can find cheap on Aliexpress.
The first one I find good. I have big hands so I don't cramp as much using it and I find the grip soft too which is nice. Would definitely recommend it.
The L2 r2 one I got is definitely made of a cheap feeling plastic that covers the whole console (it encases the whole console) and I'm sure it will shatter sooner or later but I like it for playing my ps1 games that use L2 and r2 since I struggle tapping the back without cramping. I'm not sure I'd recommend it but it will suit my needs til it shatters and rips my hands to pieces
Honestly I was very skeptical but I got the controller charger YUANHOT on Amazon that fits right on top of the PS5 system (was shooting for condensing my gaming space) and I love it. 0 complaints it chargers my controllers, has a very sleek look sitting on top of my PS5, and a good system to tell you when your controllers are good to go. Also good space to just keep your controllers sitting. https://www.amazon.com/Controller-YUANHOT-Accessories-Playstation-Replacement/dp/B097SMYPBJ
The Xbox One has a unique power brick and cable that IS NOT compatible with the Xbox One S.
Ok,, I'm going to blow some minds real quick. First things first, yes, it is pricy. But yes, it is worth every penny.
This grip is so good it has made my vita my best handheld....period
Nyko Power Grip for PS Vita (PCH-2000) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G9X4YRM/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_NT8YS4EP6ZRNN0E47S25?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Unfortunately no because it has an external supply and the cables are completely different. Here’s a link to order one of the cables or you can check around your house if you have any of them that arent being used. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073QN2JBS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_WAQN96BP8ZR1SGWWVGMK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I don't know how easy it is to get Amazon stuff ordered but these handles are amazing and extend the battery life like 300% or more. Makes it a bit bulky and clumsy but are 100% worth.

I have a Silicone "Dream Gear" case, and its really nice:
https://www.amazon.ca/dreamGEAR-Comfort-Grip-PlayStation-PCH-2000/dp/B00KE6DCFU
Yes the grip charges the unit! Pretty cool and only $40
But it is only for the SLIM model not the original one
interesting. I was going by the general rule of how to use appliances globally. but yeah if they have a dual voltage power supply in them you just need the american power cable, which is the same one they supply with like every console these days.
Like 6 bucks from Amazon I'll link the one I bought personally. I've bought a few but the cable is a bit thicker and thus feels more durable than others I've bought.
Sony PSP Data & Power USB Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LEFKXC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_J6saDbQNV7EBW. (This is what I prefer)
Genuine Data & Power USB Cable for Sony PSP 1000, 2000, 3000 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4OMVLI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_x7saDbZ14F1PR (this works but the cable feels flimsy and thin)
Get a data and power cable, like this one. Look around on Amazon and ebay because you can probably find one for a third of that price.
This will let you turn you psp with an old 5v phone charger. Don't use a newer charger because some of them are 9v.
If your psp comes on you can then check what works, if you need parts, and you can order a battery. There's been a lot of people buying fake Sony batteries - don't do that. No one has hundreds of Sony batteries. For working third party you can try Insten and Cameron Sino batteries until you can find a used Sony 1800mAh that still works (or can be repaired).
Yes, you can use AliExpress and ebay for parts like the button input flex cables, analog sticks, screens, and shells.

Buy these. You will be 100000 times happier with them. Comfy as hell and increases battery life by a ton. I have them and they are amazing. Have had them for years.
I got two. They are both the same shape but one has a battery inside and the other doesn’t.
The battery one is a Nyko grip (can search for Nyko Power Grip for PS Vita Slim). I like it more because it’s very sturdy and holds the vita very securely. Has a nice matte texture to the grip. And doubles battery life.
Nyko Power Grip for PS Vita... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G9X4YRM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The other grip has the same shape but was a lot cheaper. Glossy finish and doesn’t hold the Vita as sturdily but it’s still quite nice. It held me over until the Nyko one arrived and honestly I’ll probably still use it sometimes because it’s lighter and has nice red grips.
Gam3Gear Plastic Hand Grip Handle... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B019XK51OC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Persona 3 Portable is [$240 right now on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Persona-Portable-Sony/dp/B00356GVRW), probably more than OP paid for this. Personas 1-2 PSP have similarly astronomical prices
Sony PSP Data & Power USB Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LEFKXC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_P1LcDb5X4FD31
That's the one I personally use (mainly when on the go) and works great use it off a portable power bank
Battery (a 1200mah ) or you can go for the big battery mod. Which will remove the umd drive
The battery cover (super cheap via Ebay or aliexpress)
And a charger
Sony PSP Data & Power USB Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000LEFKXC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XKWeDbXNR54T4
I personally use that one.. If you plan on installing cfw then a memory stick pro duo adapter and at least a 64 GB micro sd card
The playstation cam is a pretty golden standard for cheap cameras and octoprint as far as I know. Can even find mounts to 3D print for them. Not bad for 6 bucks.
Sony PlayStation Eye Camera (Bulk Packaging) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0072I2240/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3UFQCb4ZZ0NG4
That's possible. Do you have a local game store that you are chummy with? You can take the adapter there to see if it is working, assuming they sell PSPs.
You can also invest in something like this; https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PSP-Data-Power-USB-Cable/dp/B000LEFKXC
And use a phone power brick to charge your psp. Something like a 5 V 1500ma, or a 2000ma should work. If you have a Samsung phone charger, that will also work.
I use this. I don't know if its available somewhere else but others that are similar should work just as well.
Here ya go:
https://www.amazon.com/adjustR-Mic-Mute-control-playstation-4/dp/B0185CVTDG/
A very simple option. If you wanna get fancy, you could move to a small switch board.
I literally just bought this -
I like my Klipsch ear buds enough to just purchase a separate mute button over replacing them. I also have a set of Sennheiser RS170's for when I really want amazing audio quality and am not using a mic.
I have the same issue because I use slightly older Astros. I just bought an adjustR Volume and Mic Mute control for PS4 . For my xbox one I had the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter . Could save you from buying 2 headsets.
I use this from across the room and it works great: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PlayStation-Eye-Camera-Bulk-Packaging/dp/B0072I2240/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503957345&sr=8-1&keywords=ps3+eye+camera
Unless you're comfortable using a soldering iron and playing with batteries/wiring I suggest getting one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Data-Power-USB-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B000LEFKXC and a USB battery bank.
I just picked up the following grip. Amazon Link
It is a silicon grip that wraps the entire Vita. I have the hori L3/R3 grip, but just started playing Helldivers and LBP and needed access to the rear touchscreen.
This grip is pretty good, but not as sturdy as the hard plastic grips. Still comfortable to hold and works fine as long as you're not squeezing it too hard.
I had the same mic and was rather disappointed with the quality. It only worked well for when I was close to it, so keep that in mind. The best working microphone for voice control so far for me seemed to be the Playstation Eye which costs about the same. It is bulkier due to the camera however, but why not integrate it as well into the mirror? :)
It runs off a 5V/0.5A PS. USB has 5V/0.5A power rails, so you should be able to make it work.
And after a quick Amazon check, here you go.
The pseye is cheaper than you're asking for brand new, and I think I've seen it as low as 4 new.
I have been using the AdjustR for my headset. My headset doesn't have volume or mute button and it works just fine for me. It should work just fine for you.

CodeLaboratories PS3 Eye Driver for Windows - $3
It's only 640x480 but it does 60fps and the price can't be beat. I don't really get why anyone needs an HD facecam anyway.
it only came with the usb cord, which has no markings. It's alright though, I found the amazon page for it, and it looks like it's a common problem. It's the voltage. Thanks for the help!
There is!
Believe it or not, they are actually cheaper at GameStop. Just picked one up for $7.49. Can't believe these aren't a more popular product!
I wouldn't recommend the PS4 camera at this moment. I'm going to try and get the ps4 camera working with the service because I need it for work. BUT it's not a feature I've written yet. Also the PS4 camera has a special connector you need to make an adapter for to work on the PC, see notes here. It's actually a USB3 camera, but Sony decided to used the special AUX adapter. The special AUX fitting has to be purchased from China (via AliExpress) so it takes a while to get. If you're prototyping at home, two PS3Eye camera are fine and they are dirt cheap on Amazon
EDIT: Oh and you won't get the controller fully working over USB. If I recall correctly you won't get controller packet updates when it's connected via USB (has to be connected vis bluetooth).
I just saw this today in another thread here -- http://www.amazon.com/adjustR-Mic-Mute-control-playstation-4/dp/B0185CVTDG?ie=UTF8&ref_=cm_sw_su_dp
Dug back into my history just to make sure you saw it. Looks like someone went out and made exactly what you were looking for... just use one of those tiny thumbtack mics plugged into this adapter.
I use this Nyko Power Grip on my slim model and it adds about 4 - 5 hours worth of battery life to the system depending on the game you're playing.
http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Power-Grip-Vita-PCH-2000-playstation/dp/B00G9X4YRM/
I've been considering these: dreamGEAR Comfort Grip for PlayStation Vita Slim (PCH-2000) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KE6DCFU/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_ZCfOwbBHNBTEZ
Not a ton of good options for a 2000 sadly, most of the promising looking ones are for the 1000 only.
Congrats on your new purchase, I got something similar to what /u/SupaBloo recommended:
Case : it has added battery life and makes it considerably easier to hold imo.
Screen protector : this was stupid easy to apply on the first try, so easy it felt like magic.
PS Eye. When it works, it works well. However, due to the unofficial drivers, it isn't recognized and sometimes needs to be unplugged and reconnected, so it can be a little inconvenient at times. Overall, I don't regret my decision, but if I had more money I'd have gone with something more official. All in all, for the price, I can't complain.
I second this! My hands felt a bit cramped while using my Vita 2000 but I picked up a grip and it's completely solved that problem. I'm using a grip that also provides additional battery as well.
what about this one, is this any good?
sorry i'm trying to gear towards the psp cause i like it more and need a bigger library for it currently
I bought a PlayStation Eye camera for $5 on Amazon for this very purpose. There are drivers online you can download to get it to work on your PC.
Cortana can hear my voice (at the equivalent volume of trying to get someone's attention from across the room) from about 10-12 ft away if the room is quiet. If there's noise it can be hit or miss, but usually works if you raise your voice.
That said, it's not perfect. There are times where I have minor technical issues with the mic, which is usual fixed by unplugging it and plugging it back in. Also, I'm not sure if it's Cortana or the mic, but 15-20 percent of the time she misinterprets my words under optimal conditions (quiet room, low distance).
I'd recommend this if you're just testing the waters. For $5 you can't go wrong. However, if you're looking for a serious investment, and no toying around, a conference mic may be your best bet. I was considering this mic before I decided to go with the PS Eye.
Far cheaper to just purchase a PS3 Eye Web Camera and then just download the free FaceTrackNoIR software. And works just as well as Track IR, without the stupid Track IR hat and gear. This is all you need:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-PlayStation-Camera-Bulk-Packaging-Pc/dp/B0072I2240 http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/information_links/download.htm
Get a grip for the Vita. I personally use the Niko Power Grip. I makes the Vita feel very similar to a Dual shock 4, and it adds about 8 hours of game time.
I usually play in my car (waiting inbetween class for 2 hours used to be such shit), in bed or my la-z-boy.
If you're worried about battery life, get the Nyko Power Grip.
It just about doubles the battery life on the vita slim while being an overall great grip--less hand cramps!
As for games, you might want to try out the PSP game Persona 3 Portable (available as a download on the PSN) either before or after P4G. Both games are really good for sinking a bunch of time into--it'll take plenty of flights to finish each.
I bought myself the nyko power grips
They are a bit bulky so they aren't for everyone. But there are a bunch of different grips for sale.
/r/vita/wiki/guides/accessories/grips is a good guide
Almost forgot make sure you get the right version 1000 fat or new 2000 slim vitas
I'd absolutely 100% recommend getting one of these bad boys.. extended battery life, and it's pretty comfortable to boot. I game for hours on the Vita with this. This one is for the newer slim model:
http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Power-Grip-Vita-PCH-2000-playstation/dp/B00G9X4YRM/
Big fan of the Vita's remote play feature, too. Works great with the a solid internet connection.
You may need to get the cord that plugs the unit into the PC. This would work. Once you have the card you'll put it in the psp, and format it for the unit. From there you can start messing around with the CFW, then adding the games/emulators.
And it's coming to the PSP, along with a facelifted FFIV.
FF Tactics is one of my favorite games of all time. Check out Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together .. They made some improvements on FFT.
