Not sure what the availability is like at your age, but maybe join some skills camps? A nutritionist and trainer both sound like good ideas. I think paying a person is a waste of money if you can afford a ball return net(Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/iC3-by-Airborne-Athletics-Basketball/dp/B00AXM2PJO). This way you can shoot around whenever you have spare time, instead of relying on the schedule of someone else. I wouldn't go crazy with the skill accessories if I were you tbh, just get shots up in your free time and practice whenever you can.
I'm using the Cool Niks GPS speedo app.
If I have someone with me I use a Bushnell speed gun for doing top speed runs. It works great. They're expensive though. I paid $78 for mine back in May 2020 and they're $127 now.
There are a ton of dog bouncy balls designed to bounce irregularly. They are hard and designed for a dog to chew on. There are also versions designed to throw at a wall or on the ground so you can react quickly. Good for sport training I guess. These ones are called React Balls.

There is a waboba moon ball which isn't exactly an octagon but it has flat-ish sides: https://www.amazon.com/Waboba-Moon-Ball-Colors-Vary/dp/B07L4K66LG
Do these help at all?
Post attempt #2 with not short link since Reddit automatically deletes any posts with short links according to the auto mod.
So this is the radar gun that the baseball and softball teams I work with use. For radar guns it’s inexpensive and they love it. Durable and reliable. Seems accurate enough given the $129 price on Amazon.
If there was an app I’m sure the teams I work with would have tried/bought it so I don’t think there is one on iOS or android.
Roll your feet with a good roller like the one linked below, you can even roll your other muscles to get the blood flowing and healing them. Get good work boots from 5.11 Tactical. It's helped me have no foot pain. Take Ibuprofen when needed. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07B1HMDT3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_T4MKR7K506C2BSMC3A5V
If you're into strength training the TRX Go is a great option. I have it at home in my basement and can hit every body part. It will take up very little space in a pack and attaches to any door frame.

I've been reading good things about band pull-aparts, so I bought some resistance bands on Amazon, and I believe I got the completely wrong thing.
This is the sort of thing I need for the exercise, right?
you need this then
The Ultimate Back Roller: Acumobility, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Yoga Wheel, Foam Roller, Back Pain, Yoga Wheel for Back Pain, Back Massager, Deep Tissue, Massage, Exercise, Mobility https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B1HMDT3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MGF54G0V9DFQS5SA1NCJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Shooting machines like The Gun or Dr. Dish are sizable investments. I don't know what your definition of expensive is, but if you go on their sites, they ask you to call for pricing, and that's a good indicator of how expensive this stuff can get. A similar machine on Amazon was priced at 5000 dollars, and I don't know how much cheaper it can get from there.
You can get something like this for about 600 dollars. Or one of those "ball catch" attachments for a basket will only be about 50 bucks.
I think just making a friend will be so much cheaper, more effective, and in the long run, more fulfilling than any of those options, though.

It has good reviews and you just need someone to point it.
If anyone is in the market for resistance bands, I just bought this set off Amazon and love them. They don't roll and seem pretty high quality, especially for the price. Much cheaper than the Julia Ledbetter ones I was looking at before!
Just piggy backing on what everyone else is saying. Staying on the balls of your feet help you be more springy. My recommendation is focus on footwork with no digging. Try using a reaction ball. Helps you stay active and move to your target. Once you get comfortable with your footwork, then proceed with digging.
Oh man they’re all out! So lemme ask you if you work in PT about this one for herniated discs:
I have these shortt ones from Amazon and they've held up really nicely. Much more comfortable than my latex ones. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MMTZXCB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Home2 has cheaper foam handles that absorb sweat and are harder to clean. The Pros have a rubber handle and is the version you see at gyms.
Home2 and Pro4 comes with door mount. Pro4x comes with a wall/ceiling mount instead of a door mount.
If you want cheaper, look into the TRX Go on Amazon. It's the same as the Home2 but with thinner straps which isn't really noticeable in practice.
Yes but more reaction ball shaped. Kinda like the older diagrams of neutrons

Kinda like that but I think it had a central sphere with three more attached to it.
I have been using this one for a few weeks. Its been a bit tough to get readings on every throw but it seems to be the angle I'm using it at. I have to adjust a bit for different throwers. I imagine I would have the same angle issues even with a nicer speed radar device. Once I have my angles figured out then it works very well for me. I'm getting proper readings on around 90% of the throws.
*edit: forgot the link. $82.50 Bushnell Velocity Speed Gun https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002X7V1Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vFO-Cb4TM0F20
I have one of these
It works great for the purpose but I don’t use it very often anymore. I feel like when I warm up with it pregame I get too handsy and jumpy on the ice, instead of letting pucks come to me.
this will help you train to be faster
https://www.amazon.com/Champro-CBBRB-Reaction-Ball/dp/B002N4R56S
and so will ping pong / table tennis
after that it is just hours of muscle memory to recognize how hard someone hit at you and to get your platform set quick and straight
I'm using this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002X7V1Q/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_9zDQub0CDADXE
Seems to work really well so far. Only time I get bad readings is if I'm not flying straight enough, as witnessed in the video.
