This rack is popular amongst the budget conscious here.

You asked about a cage. There's good options out there like Rep Fitness and Rogue. Rogue gets pricy, but great quality.
A great budget one (that I actually have) is this one from Fitness Reality. It's cheap, good quality, decent strength. Big lifters in competitions or going for high numbers would out pace this cage, but for those of us not going for that this works well. There's some downsides, like it is a bit smaller of a lifting area and if you want to hang your weights for storage it isn't the best (though I still do). There's also no cable attachments directly to this cage like some others have (like Rogue). It's a simple cheap good quality cage.
A good weight and bar starting set is the Dicks Sporting Goods set. It isn't pretty, and you'll want to replace the bar after a year, but it's worth the price and I still use those weights.
I bought my full rack for <$300 and it's held up to two years of regular use now with no issue.
It's no longer being sold on Amazon but this is the exact one I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBOVAIJ
At first I was skeptical since it was so inexpensive, but I'm glad I decided to buy it. It's worked great for me.
Everything is sold out so you aren’t going to find something readily available. I’d second buying a quality bar from Rogue or another premium brand depending on what you need.
Sign up for in-stock alerts for Walmart’s bumper plate set. I’m assuming you aren’t training for Oly so these are fine. I’ve also really liked the equipment from Fringe Sport. They have anticipated in-stock dates for next month, and their bumpers have been great even dropping from overhead. Metal plates are metal plates. If you don’t need calibrated, buy whatever you can find.
Adjustable benches are crazy expensive. Maybe start with a flat bench and prop it on plates to start. I’ve never been able to justify the cost of having one at home.
If you can find a rack or cage in stock, keep in mind that ones like this can often be assembled with the pull-up bar facing down to save on height. I’ve used that in a garage with a lower ceiling, and it’s fantastic for $200 if pandemic pricing and availability ever subsides.
r/homegym will give you some ideas. This set is pretty cheap and will get you thru the first few months of StrongLifts. I used it and didn’t bother spending on a quality bar until after 7 months when my deadlift went over 350 and started bending my starter bar pretty badly. You’ll also need a squat rack or st the very least a half rack. I got mine from Amazon. That’s all you’d need for the main lifts and should serve you well for 6-12 months.
I've had this one for a couple years. I think Wal-Mart carries it too.
Check out https://titan.fitness as well.
Personally, I always feel like the dip bars on power towers are too wide. I've tried a few of them out in Dick's Sporting Goods and it doesn't feel like a good position to sustain for multiple dips. So, that might be something to consider if you purchase one of these. I just did a quick search for more detailed dimensions of that particular model but I didn't have any luck. Maybe, get a power tower with less "features" like this Cap Barbell Power Rack from Amazon and then you can get some rings and throw them over the bar? The price fluctuates quite a bit; at the end of April it was down to $50.59 and occasionally gets down into the $65 price range.
So for a squat rack, you probably want this. It's way better than a $300 power cage has any right to be.
Benches are pretty basic if you just want a flat one and aren't benching super heavy. I'd recommend the AmazonBasics if you can find it, it's not listed for some reason. But otherwise I'd grab a $50 starter bench and not worry about it, by the time you need something nicer you'll know more about your particular needs like a wide bench, adjustable, fat pad, etc.
For a barbell and plates, you're honestly probably best off hitting up Dick's Sporting Goods for one of their $300 starter kits. Ordering is really just going to kill you on shipping.
$400? for $200 you can get a full sized squat rack on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4I8FOY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used to have one of those benches in the CL ad and on the highest setting I'd still have to do a 1/2" squat to get started with squats, plus there's no safety bars to catch if you fail and that goes for bench press too on the lack of safety.
Another hundred bucks and you've got a good quality bench: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OHQALU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Spend the rest on weights (admittedly you'll be just above the $400 price point but you won't be needing to spend more money on the same equipment a few years down the road) and whey and you'll be good to go.
At that weight basically anything you get will be ok, that said, safeties are still nice to have, so consider the value of a full rack or a half rack instead of just a squat stand. As always, Craigslist or your local alternative can be a lot better deals (and your realism about weights may mean that some of the less popular cheaper stuff will be great for you while everyone else is chasing expensive Rogue gear).
If you do want to go new, Slickdeals just pointed me towards this $250 prime shipping rack on Amazon that looks like one of the cheapest options at the moment: https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Reality-810XLT-800lbs-Capacity/dp/B01N4I8FOY/ CamelCamelCamel is amazingly reporting it sold for < $150 a few times this year (though I dunno if that included shipping)
This was in stock earlier this week and will do its job. The ProGear and Fitness Reality are made by the same company, but the ProGear has upgraded j-hooks; it's one of the most recommended budget racks on here.
Sorry I don't know the specifics but it looks like any other generic 2x2 rack where the gauge of metal is unlisted. I would assume they all have similar specs as the Amazon rack (Fitness Reality 810XLT). I wouldn't pay more than $150-$200 myself. When you decide to upgrade you won't have the best resell value (if it's after COVID). Definitely will get the job done for a starter rack just be warned it might be annoying to offload when you want an upgrade. A lot of people are selling these used "cheaper" racks for more than they are worth.
That was my thought too. With the pandemic the prices are somewhat inflated in the home gym world. But I picked this guy up for $240 around a year ago, I haven’t been tracking closely recently but it used to go on sale fairly regularly.

If you’re concerned about quality Coop did a pretty thorough review on it, and it fared pretty well. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvFeJZCaALU
Hey, I know you just found that link and copy and pasted it, but it's a referral/affiliate link (you can tell by the "tag=..." part). Just edit your comment to this instead of that full mess:

449$ for the cage AND lat pulldown
As someone who spent 490$ sourcing thru macy/rakuten and offerup this is a solid deal in my eyes
It’s definitely been lower but times are rough
"Reasonably priced" is..well..relative. I love Rogue products and I respect their American-made ethos greatly and I love how flexible all of their systems are, but you are paying for all of that. You can't get a squat rack under $345 from them (S-1). And, per context of this conversation, that doesn't have the pullup bar; you have to go to the S-2 at $425. Don't get me wrong, that rack is fucking tough, but the price is too. If you pay less you will get less, but you might not need something as bomb-proof as Rogue.
Here is an off brand on Amazon at $89 dollars. It's all relative...
Cap Barbell Power Rack Exercise Stand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HYQP72O/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_SgBNwbQKHXGZS
I got this from amazon and they are very steady with the rings. I have had no issues doing the RR on them.
EDIT: Updating answer to help out OP with an alternative. OP, you can try out rows with towel and a door similar to this till you gain the strength to do the rows with your body directly below the bar.
I have this one and it suits my needs fine. I bought it at Play it Again Sports rather than Amazon, though.
I have it on a flat cement floor and I've found it to be sturdy even doing hanging leg raises (I can't do pullups because it's in my basement with a low ceiling) and it doesn't get bolted down or anything.
I'm 5'-1", for what it's worth.
Was having a really hard time finding a rack in Canada over the last few weeks. Found this one on amazon with good reviews that comes with a bench for $459CAD. Figure I can sell the bench and make up a good chunk of the cost.
Anybody else have the fitness reality 810xlt?
Also, for what it's worth, the general consensus on this sub reddit seems to be that the best entry level squat rack is the Fitness Reality. It has a pretty sweet lat pull down attachment option too. Seems like it's pretty much the same thing as you're looking at.
Not up at the moment, but the black ones are in stock fairly often lately.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CDNFJB9/ Usually ~$126-131. Same thing as Titan.
Here's the power rack: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4I8FOY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I'm quite happy with it. Just make sure it's big enough for you. I'm smol so the size is good. Also I wouldn't do swinging or kipping moves on it. It's kinda light
Hope that helps :)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CDNFJB9/ Reminder these crash pads have been available often on AMZN.
Another vote for the 810xlt. The rack you posted is more expensive and those safeties are useless outside bench.
Fitness Reality 810XLT Super Max Power Cage with Optional Lat Pull-down Attachment and Adjustable Leg Hold-down https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4I8FOY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_eImaGb2Z68DQ2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This one is half as much: https://www.amazon.com/Barbell-Power-Rack-Exercise-Stand/dp/B00HYQP72O. Not portable. Amazon is sometimes more expensive than Cap's own website, but the price bounces around. I have it, stable, but wobbles a little. Doesn't feel like it will fall over.
EDIT: Oops andersonah said the same thing. I guess that's two endorsements for one system!
I don't know if you bought the titan cage yet... anyways I work for Paradigm, the company that makes the FITNESS REALITY cage. you can see more reviews on the cage on Amazon: Fitness Reality
One comparison between my cage and the T2 is that my cage weighs 133.5 lbs, whereas the T-2 weighs 107 lbs. I got those numbers just by looking at both products on Amazon. So I can offer you about 25 lbs more steel for a much lower price than T-2... just saying....
Ask me anything. Yes there will be accessories! I will most likely get to play with the prototypes on my trip to China coming up this weekend...
BTW! LOVE YOUR USERNAME TOO...
I did the Dick's 300lb weight set, this squat rack and bench from Amazon (watch it on camelcamelcamel) Fitness Reality 810XLT Super Max Power Cage with The 800 lb Capacity Super Max 1000 Weight Bench Combo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBOVAIJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RANaAb1P2QYMD, and the horse stall mat.
Total came to right around $600.
I'm kind of dumb, i ordered this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBOVAIJ and just realizing I don't think it comes with the barbell. Can someone correct me if i'm wrong, and if it doesn't have one could you recommend a barbell and plates I could buy off amazon for a complete beginner like me.
I just bought this on Amazon for $250. I've been extremely happy so far. I've only ever had 350lbs on it, but seemed steady

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084P72GYX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_KWEHFbWAM3V3T
Sure! This is the link.
It’s a little more expensive now than when I ordered it but honestly it’s worked out great for my needs!
Dude, you waited 40 minutes for a response in homegym.
Those aren't generally called power cages. they're called power towers.
This is a power cage: FitnessReality810
The one you're asking about looks fine, but expensive.
Thinking about getting a free standing pull-up bar and attaching my rings to this. Has anyone used this equipment ?
It's actually pretty solid. My bf helped my put it together. It has anchors if you want to bolt it down but I had to put mine on my 2nd floor so that wasn't an option.
I'm a beginner with limited space so this currently does the trick. I'll more than likely upgrade to something heavier with more features after I progress in lifts but since this is my first go into weightlifting I didn't want to shell out too much for my current program (SC).
I'll be using it over the next few days so I'll PM and let you know I liked it. I'm a woman who lift by herself so safety is always my number 1 concern.
Here's the link in case I left it out in my original reply:http://www.amazon.com/Barbell-Power-Rack-Exercise-Stand/dp/B00HYQP72O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443457940&sr=8-1&keywords=cap+power+rack
I'm reasonably certain that it's a Fitness Reality 810XLT from Amazon. They're like the Toyota Camry of racks, and Garage Gym Reviews even drop tested one with like 800# and it held up.
Nothing beats a real pull up. Get a pull up tower. I have this one which is I used in an apartment, and it works great:
Ultimately it is up to you. You will just be limited by that set up if you end up getting into this seriously.
This hobby is definitely buy once cry once. And safety is important when lifting alone. A half rack can flip if you dump or drop the bar onto the safety arms since it isn’t that heavy or robustly built. A full cage will keep you safe.
My first rack was a powerline simple rack but it was light, moved when I racked weights and setting up the spotter pipes and j hooks was hard due to the hole spacing but it worked. This is what Coop from garage gym reviews and is the lower end of what is recommended here. Pre pandemic it used to be a lot cheaper.
Oooo. Found a fitness reality on amazon.ca mega cheap. 295 CAD which is 220 USD. Thats cheaper than on their site. Super sale. I know its just a squat stand but if I put some better J hooks on there wow I think this is great for me. I didn't really want a huge power rack.
What do you think!? Seems like a great deal and has everything I want. Spotter arms, weight storage, pull up bar, has the connecting bar at the back for extra stability, and even an extra landmine attachment which I dont really care much about. and free shipping! https://www.amazon.ca/FITNESS-REALITY-810XLT-800lbs-Capacity/dp/B084P72GYX/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=fitness%2Breality&qid=1669516606&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjg2IiwicXNhIjoiMy45NyIsInFzcCI6IjMuNDcifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-8&th=1
Oooo. Actually yeah but some are really expensive. This one is mega cheap tho. Super sale. I know its just a squat stand but if I put some better J hooks on there wow I think this is great for me. I didn't really want a huge power rack.

I'm looking to buy equipment for a home gym this week and I'm really stuck on the power rack part. There are just so many I don't even know where to start, I wish there was something like a car site side by side comparison to understand the differences. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here.
I'm essentially just looking to be able to do OHP/squat/bench press/barbell rows from the rack. At some point I would like to be able to add on a lat pulldown/seated row, and having spots to hang weights from the rack would be nice. My weight requirements aren't high, I won't be putting over 400 on the barbell on the rack at any point.
I was looking at something like this one but then it's hidden in the reviews that it's shaped so only thier brand of add on stuff fits it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you have a camera placed to watch where the UPS people are dropping off your items. Perhaps you're being porch pirated.
I haven't moved, but recently had a 145 pound "mistake" sent to my house. It was a full sized weight lifting squat rack.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4I8FOY
UPS also had some girl, who must weight 85 pounds soaking wet, deliver it...and then she had to pick it up 4 days later (although I was able to help her with the pickup).
But beyond this mistake, Amazon service has still been pretty solid.
do yourself a solid
Get the upgraded j hooks that work with that rack:https://www.amazon.com/Yes4All-Pair-Hooks-Power-Squat/dp/B071YP4VPN/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=yes+4+all+j+hooks&qid=1665589094&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjM2IiwicXNhIjoiMS4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuOTkifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=yes+for+all+j%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-5
They are light years better than the ones that come with the rack and will treat your barbell much better.
The squat doubles as one. this is the one I use. And I use a barbell on it if I need to adjust my height when doing incline/decline push ups and pike push ups. Attach some resistance bands to it, and you have a pretty decent work out rig.
Both of these have weight horns for standard plates on the trolley for the cable system
Likely going with the Rep Fitness PR1000, but saw this on FB marketplace, power cage w/lat pulldown:
Wondering if I can get a recommendation for/against it? (Reasonable price [$299], looks like good condition.)
Can the lat pulldown attachment be added later if I just gett he Fitness Reality cage alone?
(And I'm assuming these hooks can work with the specific cage? https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Reality-2816-Steel-J-Hooks/dp/B07B4Y3WH4?ref_=ast_sto_dp )
You got it! Bought the rack back in 2017, but waited till 2021 to buy the lat pulldown, and just recently installed the REP storage.
Here's a link to the pull down - https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Reality-Olympic-Cable-Attachment/dp/B07NPTNP87 , camelx3 shows it's priced 9 bucks below it's all time high, but only $10 more than I paid for it. It adds a ton of versatility, highly recommend it.
If I use pads for deadlifts like (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CDNFJB9/)
wouldn't that negatively affect my form since it's raised off of the ground a few inches?
I don't intend to completely let go at the top of the deadlift, but when i'm pushing 2x bodyweight or whatever, at least some reps will get sloppy towards the end and will slam the ground a bit.
I'm planning to have it setup in a room, and not garage so the floor is def not as solid.
Even the cheapest rack on Amazon will be sufficient. GarageGymReviews dumped a 700 lb bar onto the safeties from full standing height, and it held up.
That said, if you're a mid 500 lb squatter, you probably enjoy lifting enough that you'd appreciate a nicer and more durable product, even if it's not 100% necessary. If you spend that much time lifting, you may as well enjoy it.
>Base Blocks
Also interested! I was looking at something like this because it was the cheapest pull up bar I could find but the Big Bar looks nice if it is sturdy and well-made.
I have a small space (using for home office and gym area) with laminate flooring that I plan to use for basic bodyweight workouts. I'd like to add a cheap/simple power rack (something like this) for pull-ups that I can also hang rings from for dips and rows. Does this seem like a good plan or should I spend more money on something that might be more reliable or sturdy?
Also, any recommendations for what type of flooring I should put underneath the rack? Since I won't be dropping weights or anything, maybe nothing is needed or I should just stick with cheap interlocking mats from Walmart.
I've seen from other posts horse stall mats are often recommended, but I'm wary of the smell as I've heard the odor can linger and I also need this space for an office.
Thanks!
A shot in the dark, but I was curious if anyone has owned or used this power rack before?
A shot in the dark, but I was curious if anyone has owned or used this power rack before?
I have something similar to (this)[https://www.amazon.com/HulkFit-Multi-Function-Adjustable-Attachment-1000-Pound/dp/B07FBDVJN5/]
I could drill holes but I'll probably just get some crates to hold the bar before I do that because I just need a temporary solution for now.
It’s this one.
I have that rack, but not the cable system for it. They make a great landmine and dip attachments for it too.
I was weary of this brand being it's on Amazon but I will definitely be looking into it more. My space is very limited and this one looked appealing but it's $50 and seems less safe. Any opinion on it? I'm going to try and see what I can do to make the $200 full cage work first.
I've heard good things about this one. If I had room for it and the money I'd go for it but I'm broke as Shit from getting power blocks a few weeks ago

This is a solid deal on the FRT 810XLT rack. At this price, buy it and use outside
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4I8FOY?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1
$200
Im not sure what the subs best budget rack is so I'd do more research but this is the one I was originally looking at (goes on sale for $250).
I ended up getting an X3 on sale b/c I justified the extra $ b/c this is a lifelong piece and I'll never need to upgrade b/c I knew I'm committed to lifting & I would eventually outgrow the basic.
😂 And yes I always wanted to make concrete weights, especially due to pandemic weight costs, but I was patient & got a great deal. You may have luck constantly checking marketplace or craigslist
I would say there’s a lot of junk on amazon so post what your budget is before you buy.
But a good cheap cage is the fitness reality 810xlt with the lat pull down. (Or without the last attachment but you might as well)
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07PVDCMJZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BGZ9M3TBRVT2EK9ZFSSS
Otherwise if you’re in a budget look at the used market. Plenty of deals to be had for people who are patient.
If your have a smaller budget save up for this, or wait for it to dip in price, or buy Amazon warehouse used. Otherwise get a titan rack. Or REP.
Hulk Fit Rack $299
Cable Crossover Attachment $384
So thats $683. $83 less than retail. If he got the bench and other goodies too then that’s a good deal but i think I’d rather have a freshie for that price.
I am wanting to build a home gym and the first step seems to be the power rack. I did some research and the Fitness reality rack seems to be a good one for the price and quality. https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Reality-Pull-down-Attachment-Adjustable/dp/B01N4I8FOY/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=power+rack&qid=1649448733&sr=8-5
I wanted to know if it was worth upgrading to the latpulldown/leg holddown attachment? That would run me an extra $250. Or is it better to just get a lat pulldown attachment? I would also want to be able to do raise exercises with the pull system. Any suggestion for attachment where I can do pulldown exercise and "pull up"?
Well it’s sitting on my back porch, on concrete. Ok going to grab a couple of horse stall pads to get it above the surface of the concrete so water doesn’t pool under the tarp. The machine is this
Too big to move around. I’ll keep the actual 7ft Olympic bar indoors but the weights and cage will stay outside.
Thanks for the link. Now I'm shopping for yoga swing sets but I'm fluffy. I'm hoping this stand can support my big ass: https://www.amazon.com/Barbell-Power-Rack-Exercise-Stand/dp/B00HYQP72O/ref=sr\_1\_4?crid=NTW5O3797DAQ&keywords=pull%2Bup%2Bbar%2Bstand&qid=1647890519&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=pull%2Bup%2Bbar%2B%2Csporting%2C63&sr=1-4&th=1
Yeah, sure thing. I feel you since I wanted to do the same when looking at a barbell upgrade.
Pretty sure these Yes4All ones are the pair I bought a couple years ago: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071YP4VPN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_1C5EPV9K0FJKQJ9KK9CE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It comes with a spare set of plastic pads, which is cool. I'm pretty careful with mine but they have held up really well over two years or more.

Thanks for the super quick reply! I was also leaning towards the power rack with the pulley system. Too many mixed reviews in the Bowflex home gym.
Any brands I should be looking out for? I am looking at this product which looks promising!

Hey everyone. I have been using the fitness reality power cage from amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Reality-810XLT-Capacity-Weight/dp/B01NBOVAIJ
It's worked well but I can't do my favorite lift inside it: Overhead Press. It clangs into the top part before I get full ROM. I don't care much about the pull up aspect of it, so I am wondering if it is safe to remove the top connectors? The result would still have 2 bars connecting each side. I'm thinking this will work because they sell a similar product here https://fitnessreality.com/fitness-reality-810xlt-super-max-power-rack/ which is just the rack part .
Yes I know some suggestions will be alternatives to OHP like seated/z press etc or to ohp outside the rack (not possible with my setup). I'm specifically wondering if it would be stable enough to have that top connection off. I believe the pull up bar is optional anyways so it seems like removing the connectors too would be fine since it has the bottom portion + safety bars. I'm never doing more than 500 pounds anyways with it.
I got the same rack a few years ago. Highly suggest the Fitness Reality J hooks for the bar, much better than what it comes with. Personally got 2 sets one for OHP and Squats, and another for bench.
Does anyone have the Fitness Reality squat rack at home and regret it? It looks pretty sturdy and for $275 it has solid reviews.

Recommended freestanding equipment? I need to get back into working out, but unfortunately my pull-up bar doesn't fit our apartment doors. I'd like to be able to do front levers as well.
This looks good for pull-ups, leg raises, etc. but I'm unsure of its stability when doing front levers and skin-the-cats.
I’m in the same situation.
I have an apartment with a relatively large living living room and then an attached dining room that I never use. So because of the lockdown, I finally pulled the trigger on something I’ve been thinking about for a while - I squeezed the dining room into the excess space of the living room, thus freeing up the dining room area.
Now I have a roughly 10’x7’ area where I’m building a gym.
I ordered this highly reviewed budget cage on sale, I quickly ran out to Fitness Depot to get a bar, some plates, and some rubber flooring, and I already had a cardio machine, an FID bench, and some dumbbells that I had purchased earlier in the pandemic, so I’m in the process of moving them all into my new gym area. Oh, and I ordered a rack for my dumbbells.
My power cage is coming this Friday, so the timing worked out pretty well on everything.
I don't really deadlift heavy enough in my place for me to not be able to control descent easily, but https://www.amazon.com/Yes4All-Silencer-Weightlifting-Cover-Handles/dp/B08CDNFJB9?th=1 for crash pads helps.

I'd still lean to bumpers. Assuming apartment living means you're not fully wedded to living in the city/town you're in currently? Bumpers tend to hold up as far as looks the best and will have the best market if you ever need to sell or want to switch to irons in a more permanent location. After that, things like Rep equalizers could be a good choice of a coated plate that'll reduce the clanking. You'll also have to think about your side neighbors.
I use this half rack and it easily covers all my needs. I bought it on sale a few months ago at $220.
I like what the_basix said but keep an eye on fitness reality starter rack it’s $300 but not always that high and can be found on most used marketplaces. I know you’re rural so that might be a hard find. Main reason is it’s more standard 2x2 uprights with 1” hole so it’s easier to find other brand attachments if needed
I’d suggest to buy the cap barbell fitness CAP Barbell FM-905Q Color Series Exercise Stand Power Rack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HYQP72O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0F54SGS3G3Q8X24MR7JK it’s pretty decently sized and prized and it has a pull up bar with good clearance and is probably safer for weighted pull ups.
How can you tell? It still says “Ships from and sold by Amazon.ca”, so I’m not sure.
Also, after that price went up, I noticed that they’re also selling a half-rack. I wonder if that would be a better option. Normally that would sound like a big step down from a cage, but this half-rack seems to be getting pretty good reviews and it even has advantages over the full size, includes a landmine, weight storage, and it appears to have better j-hooks.
I wonder if that would be a better choice.
Same as Titan, but cheaper https://www.amazon.com/Yes4All-Silencer-Weightlifting-Cover-Handles/dp/B08CDNFJB9?th=1
For deads and heavy DBs they'll be perfect. For dropping bars there is still a decent amount of noise when newer as the vinyl (or whatever the cover is) and the firmness of the foam will still make a 'smack' sound rather than a thump, but it helps reduce the vibration so noise does not travel.

This is probably the best selling budget power rack in America today. The core design has been copied and sold under other off-brand names as well.
If you surf the online marketplaces like Craigslist, you'll find this power rack there off and on for less than retail. I've seen people move it for as low as 100-120 dollars.
The biggest push/pull point for me is if you plan to live in your current location for a very long time or not. If the answer to that is No, then maybe more disposable type gear is the better option.
I would see what you can find in the various marketplaces first. Squat stands are just not safe. I recognize everyone's situation is different but if you have space for a full power rack, I'd go for that just for the safety aspect.
Basically the Titans but bit cheaper.

I'd get a cheap rack instead, footprint is pretty much identical anyway.

In case you're worried about your safety:
It's the Fitness Reality 810XLT. It's decent for the price, but a lot of people prefer the Titan T-2 which is about $80 more. I like the (optional) cable system on the 810 better than the one for the T-2, but that's also just personal preference.
That's awesome. These are the ones I ended up buying they are decent for what what they do. Depending on how big your appartment is. Mine has space for an inexpensive pull up frame like this oneon Amazon
I've had a door frame bar - tired of always feeling very unsafe
This is kinda hood but if you can afford it, this works better than a doorframe mounted bar and will last a lifetime (Chinesium is alright when designs are simple)
Get some gymnastics rings to hang from it, and you've pretty much got all the equipment for back workouts you'll ever need.
A cheap pair of dip bars later (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PH9PP85/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=82d3bc7e902b441749818c6a7edb3aa7&hsa_cr_id=8558718970201&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=97811fc2-4c61-4bf4-8d1f-3ec82c776c06&pd_rd_w=JC8bf&pd_rd_wg=...), and you'll have all the equipment you need to completely jacked with bodyweight alone if you have the discipline. All of this can fit in a few square feet.
No, I actually use this.
But I was interested in this since it does seem more portable and able to move around a lot easier. My rack just takes up too much space.
I have the yes4all ones linked below and use it on the progear rack which is the same as the 810xlt. Can confirm the pins go all the way through.
They're pretty good for the price. A couple of the welds look poor, but I'm not loading 700 pounds on it so I'm not worried about them failing. I like them much better than the ones that came with my rack (ones like this https://www.amazon.com/Fitness-Reality-2816-Steel-J-Hooks/dp/B07B4Y3WH4) because of the plastic on the vertical part.
These ones should work fine as they are 2x2 with 1 inch holes. The titan ones should work as well but the pair of those I have fit pretty loose on my 2x2 rack whereas the yes4all ones are pretty tight and also have a set screw to hold them in place and the Titans don’t have a set screw.
i have that same rack as well.
The only thing i hate about it is the 'j cups'
Highly suggest these:
This is the cheapest rack I would probably consider a long term purchase
They also have a full cage that is also affordable.

This one is popular
Just wait for price to drop back under 400 CAD. Little pricey currently but I know I’ve seen it for 350ish
what do you think about this one? https://www.amazon.ca/Cap-Barbell-Power-Exercise-Stand/dp/B00HYQP72O/ref=sr_1_31?crid=32LU4D5QOMY94&dchild=1&keywords=squat%2Brack&qid=1629168249&sprefix=squat%2Br%2Caps%2C230&sr=8-31&th=1. have to buy spotter arms separately sadly
Hope I'm not too late
But get this

I had the bang tong dip stand originally and gave it to my friend. I went with this due to the need of using rings. I believe this is slightly taller. I You'll get more exercises from this equipment with a set of rings and it's pretty sturdy.
I went for something like this barbellStuff instead of a pullup/dip station. I got it from a European supplier for ~120$ (pre-covid). Sure, you can't do dips, but you can get rings for ~20$ and do all sorts of exercises (dips, ring pushup variations, extensions) which you can not always do with a pullup station because of their weird construction.
