This carrying case. It's good because the zipper pocket can hold the joycon bumpers, ear buds, and my 3DS. And the game holder slots are big enough that I can bring a few 3DS games as well as a few Switch games.
I went with a 32 GB SD card which is about 3/4ths full at this point. Gonna upgrade at some point but it's fine for now.
I’m not a normal poster on this sub so hopefully I formatted this properly. I was browsing for a couple retro styled wireless controllers so my girlfriend and I could play some of the Classic games that come with Nintendo Online. This one was exactly what I had in mind and I noticed that it’s on a pretty good sale so I thought I would share.
This is an NES style (no analog sticks) Bluetooth controller with shoulder buttons, a home button, and 2 extra turbo face buttons. It connects wirelessly with the Switch without an adapter. It works with the Switch Online Classic games and it shows up as a normal controller so you can also use it with regular switch games that don’t require analog sticks or motion controls.
It can also connect to the NES/SNES Classics wirelessly if you use the Bluetooth version of the 8bitdo Retro Reciver.
so...........i would emulate first. Get a USB SNEScontroller and try some games.
If you love it and can't get enough I'd look into getting original hardware. But if you don't have that need to play it all on original hardware on a CRT TV then emulation is a good place to start.
You should get svideo instead! But eBay and Amazon work well.
This one works well
Gam3Gear SNES Nintendo N64 Gamecube S Video Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LE3EAIK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_-GNRAbA17YEAR
The best is the original nintendo cable. Get it off of ebay, it will likely have to be imported from Japan. The second best is hand made, you used to be able to get nice ones from an ebay seller based in Sweden named"gamesnow," but he no longer sells them. Personally, I have cheap ones off amazon that work just fine. I was in the same situation as you; I was apprehensive buying them, because I did not see any reviews of them from retro gaming specific sites, but at 6 dollars and two day shipping, it was worth a go. Perfect video, no checkerboarding. The golden rule is to absolutely not buy ones that have composite attached to them as well. Many of these are not even wired correctly, and if they are, the composite will do nothing for you beyond cause interference.
EU model available at Amazon Fr. It says it doesn't ship to the U.S., but it does. Choose Amazon Global Standard for shipping. About $105 shipped.
they sell these on amazon, btw.
this model is the 2.4ghz wireless usb one, though. no bluetooth support, and only works with the controller port on the nes/snes classic.
there are bluetooth models - these new ones come with a bluetooth receiver that plugs into the snes.
The controller port on the minis is a proprietary Nintendo one so a usb adapter wouldn't fit. You'd need to buy a specific adapter. I don't have one myself but 8bitdo is usually the one people go for https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076B995TL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_6DS1CGXPA2E1QEDE3MTP
The listing does not talk about write speed at all. All it says is "up to 120MB/s read". The required speed for U1 is 10MB/s.
If you look at the listing for the switch sd card https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-MicroSDXC-Nintendo-Switch-SDSQXAO-128G-GNCZN/dp/B07QD6R5L7/?th=1 the back of the packaging says it is U3 (30MB/s write) with a potential of up to 90MB/s. Every single officially branded card I received well exceed the requirements (generally 75MB/s but I think that's a limit of the computer and reader)
"Low-end" refers to product binning. These are probably the cards that pass certain tests but not the ones they use for the other branding
Amazon France is where I ordered mine this morning, use Google translate. It did cost $130 with the currency exchange and shipping, but I like the look of this better than the US
After a minimal amount of searching it seems you can pre-order from Amazon in the US, but the release date is unfortunately not until December 10.
For those who are having trouble getting a system, another option is Amazon France. They go in stock several times per week (you can check with NowInStock) and it adds up to around $120 in total.
Ignore the "cannot ship to Canada" message, I can confirm that they do indeed ship to Canada.
I think it's this one.
I've linked it at Amazon (US), but I've also seen it at local game stores in the UK at least.
I found one on Amazon, for $100USD. Seems worth it to me even if I can get the US one on gamestop for $80, I would rather spend the extra on the EU one. https://www.amazon.com/SNES-Nintendo-Classic-Mini-Entertainment-System/dp/B073BVHY3F/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_63_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=AHPX716DTP2YPGA598NZ

It’s the PowerA amiibo End Level Display! sadly they seem to be quite expensive now. They were very affordable when I bought mine.
Thank you for posting this. Just snagged one off of German Amazon (here) since they're accepting international orders now!
This is the one I got. It's 12.99 on Amazon and it has places for your games and joycons/charger and stuff. It feels really sturdy.
Yup, eBay has a very good one

And I bought mine on Amazon
Gam3Gear SNES Nintendo N64 Gamecube S Video Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LE3EAIK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DCwWAbBPJYY4K
Always look for ones with just S-Video and no yellow composite. Some can be wired bad. But it's not always true
How are you connecting your NS Pro controller?
I was soon planning to pair my NS Pro controller to the 8bitdo adapter amazon product page I bought for my NES/SNES classic use to the WiiMote and see if/how that worked.
Well in that case, the silver lining is that you will get much better performance out of your node if you use a high-quality microSD card, than a hard drive.
If you notice long delays when sending transactions or refreshing your wallet, that is a result of using rotating media and their notoriously awful random seek times.
I am using this card for over 9 months now and it works great.
Apparently the Switch SNES controller doesn't even work wired. The cable is only used for charging. But as others already pointed, wireless they're one of the laggier ones.
Personally I'd get the recently released 8bitdo SN30 2.4G for original SNES. They improved the D-Pad with this one compared to the older 8bitdo controllers. Wired they have almost no latency. You can used them wireless, but you need an SNES to USB adapter to use them on the MiSTer (e.g. from Raphnet). It's a bit costly but that way you have still a much better latency than the Switch SNES controller and it syncs instantly!
This is the one I have:
8Bitdo SN30 2.4G Wireless Controller for SNES Classic Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074HBNNH6/
The feel is great and I haven’t noticed any lag or issues connecting at all
I've actually used a cheapo cable for the better part of a year and I haven't had any issues with it. Really clear image on my s-video compatible CRT.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LE3EAIK/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yes, that is what I’m saying. Just get a s-video cable without a yellow composite lead, those are generally higher quality. This one will do the job https://www.amazon.com/Gam3Gear-Nintendo-Gamecube-Video-Cable-Super/dp/B00LE3EAIK/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=37310YK80XP68&keywords=n64+s-video+cable&qid=1669517326&sprefix=n64+s-%2Caps%2C222&sr=8-3
Btw you can shorten most URLs by deleting everything after the ?, since all that is just meaningless tags. For example: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-MicroSDXC-Memory-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B07QD6R5L7/ref=asc_df_B07QD6R5L7/
Have only used a 256gb (is it really that much slower? I don’t think it’s bad at all)
This is the official Nintendo Micro SDXC. Just a Nintendo themed Sandisc meant for switch but I use it on my 3ds and it’s perfect.
Option 1. 1. Go to facebook marketplace or gumtree 2. Find a second hand super nintendo system for sale ($20 to $400) 3. Find donkey kong game for sale ($100 to $300) 4. Go oick them up. Bring them home. Connect it to your TV and play just like the old days.
Option 2. 1. Go to Amazon and buy a SNES mini with DK preloaded.
https://www.amazon.com.au/Nintendo-Classic-Entertainment-System-Console/dp/B073BVHY3F
Option 3. Get a ROM going.
You can either use:
Wiimote & Wiitarthing
Or
Or
Emio Edge (cheaper option, will need a USB extension) (No whammy)
Good to hear! It sounded a little worrying when you said you felt like the walking dead. I have a basic case like this that fulfills my needs perfectly. I can just shove it in my messenger bag along with everything else. What you are considering could also be useful for Steam Deck users too. Maybe ask communities that use that as well.
