Hi everyone. I'm Kyle, and I'll soon be editing Book 5 of my post-apocalyptic dystopian superhero fantasy series Legend of the Elementals. Right now, I'm doing some more hardcore editing for the impending release of the compendium Books 1-4, while also tweaking my TESOL master's thesis. Wishing everyone the best on their manuscripts! Book 1 is FREE on Amazon and Smashwords, among other places, by the way.
Yes! Too much angst and not enough awesome nowadays. Allow me to propose an antidote: my post-apocalyptic fantasy dystopia novel Legend of the Elementals, Book 1: Reintroduction available for FREE on Amazon as well as at Smashwords, in all the most popular digital formats.
There's a character like this in the 'Infected' series of books by P.S. Power. It's a superhero book. The character's name is Penny and she is invisible and unable to be viewed by cameras, etc. I always enjoy a good superhero book. :)
You guys should check out The Lives of Tao by Wesley Chu if you like the premise in the OP. The sequel is pretty bomb too.
Some of my absolute favorite authors! I'd also recommend the early books of Brian Jacques' Redwall series.
And, how about a FREE novel, the start of a brand-new fantasy series brought to you straight from a like-minded author-redditor?
Legend of the Elementals, Book 1: Reintroduction
Ryan, Erin, Kris, and Jason are heroes defined by the villain, unwitting assistants in a cataclysm brought about by an old man who calls himself... Devidis. The four modern, international teens awaken deep within a jungle canyon, a prison in the post-apocalyptic empire established by the tyrannical Devidis. Surrounded by danger, the four Elementals quickly embrace their new-found super-powered control of the elements--wind, fire, water and stone--under the guidance of Sensei, an imprisoned freedom fighter who believes that Devidis' near omnipotence is a clear sign that the world is a persistent illusion in the mind of its evil emperor. And so the Elementals are forced to come of age in an increasingly hostile land. Though supernaturally capable, they are faced with a frightening possibility: are their hopes, goals, powers, friends, enemies, surroundings and selves... all an illusion? It's "Final Fantasy meets X-Men" as worlds are torn asunder!

I started writing this when I was a YA myself, and now, a decade-plus later, I would be honored by any glances in my book's direction. There's also a dollar version on Amazon.
Michael Stackpole wrote a Superhero-noir book that rocks: In Hero Years, I'm Dead
Well, I think these are 20 and 21:
I would hazard a guess from searching for it that Baen has not released ebooks for 13-15.
