It's a 4 camera system, they have them pointing forward and backward on both mirrors. It's ok, but cheap chinese stuff. Need to use their free shitty software to view the videos and convert them to avi for further editing.
Or any other brand, a long as it's POE, stores videos locally and can even provide a mobile app. It may take a little more work to set up/wire, but the piece of mind is worth it. You won't have to pay anyone any subscription, you'll own your data, it will be reliable and can easily last 10-15 years. You can easily replace a camera if it fails doesn't have to be the same brand, so you're not locked in to a single brand. You can even upgrade to another system in 10 years and use the same Ethernet wiring.
For a semi? Easiest thing is to buy a multicam system and mount the cameras on your side mirrors. https://i.imgur.com/j5x3cQy.jpg

Alternatively, cameras inside the truck pointing at your mirrors.
Reolink would be perfect for you. They're a good balance of price vs quality. This is the newer model of the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/Reolink-Security-8-Channel-Recording-RLK8-410B4-5MP/dp/B016UCNP3A
Since your an electrician, wiring it will be easy for you. All you need to do is run 1 CAT 5e/6 cable from the NVR to each camera and that provides power and connectivity.

Most of the ones I've seen in store are old style analog cameras and not IP cameras. You definitely want IP cameras with PoE. What is your budget? I have this system from Amazon and am quite happy with it.

Is Q-See a well-known brand in the security system world? I don't know if Amazon ratings mean anything but this one is the same price but is better rated with more reviews.
I purchased this from Amazon. It's a wired DVR system so I had to have help to do the wiring and installation.
Try looking at Reolink for a security system - I put this one in and it's a very good and reasonably priced system:
The thing about security camera system cameras under a few thousand, is that they have limited range. You'll want to get soem cameras out close to the boundaries of your property and that's why I suggested game-type cameras.
This was on Amazon today: https://www.amazon.ca/Reolink-Security-Outdoor-Recording-RLK8-420D4-5MP/dp/B07H3QVZQ2/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=reolink&qid=1592271612&sprefix=Reolink&sr=8-4
This is the cheap value option. If you have money to spend then I would jump to the dahua starlights, but they aren't going be cheap.
Wyze is fine , the ai detection is crazy sensatize and based on your limited budget I would say it's your best option, to get a floodlight cam and two outdoor cams. If you had a slightly larger budget , I would recommend https://www.amazon.com/Reolink-Security-8-Channel-Recording-RLK8-410B4-5MP/dp/B016UCNP3A/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?crid=3HQMPGMHWEE4D&keywords=reolink+4k+dvr&qid=1660578229&sprefix=reolink+4k+dvr%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-16&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fo...
I recommend a wired POE setup. For something plug and play, I have been very happy with Reolink. It checks all your boxes. Something like this
For indoor, Wyze are nice and cheap and allow you to drop in, have two way audio, record to SD card for free, or record to cloud for a monthly fee. They have outdoor cameras as well, and I've had one of their pan indoor cameras outside, under an eave for a couple of years without issues (also in a silicon case) with temperature ranges from -40F to 100F.
For doorbell, most are subscription based, there are some that can record to an NVR, but for $200-$300 you aren't going to get multiple cameras and a doorbell camera and an NVR. This is a fairly reasonable starter system with 4 cameras and it's $400, with no doorbell camera. These would require you to run ethernet cable from the NVR to each camera, but it would record 24/7 with no subscription and you can remotely view.
So you are looking for just a simple camera system with motion detection. Since you said you are able to get power easily then why not a DVR and Camera system? This would get you what you need and you come in under budget, so you can get a separate doorbell camera. Or even the Amazon Blink system like this might be a suitable solution for you (it would work with Alexa instead of Google Home, but that is an easy switch).
Baby Monitor with Remote Pan-Tilt-Zoom Camera and 3.2'' LCD Screen, Infrared Night Vision (White with Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N428WP1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_54Y03571F7J6CSQT4WB4
We have these and I love them. We bought and extra camera. It holds up to 4. So one above each twins bed & one in our 7 year olds room. It doesn't require wifi so that gives me a complete piece of mind. Super easy install & easy to use!
I have a kit from Reolink I bought on Amazon for $3-400. I added a 4k camera to the bundle for our driveway.
They're POE fed back to an NVR with 7-8 days of memory for 4-5 cameras. Their software is so-so for home automation purposes. A better option for someone wanting more home automation integration would be simply buying the cameras, running POE to a router, and using a video hosting service like Blue Iris.
I don't entirely trust that they're Chinese-made, but the quality is otherwise good and they get very good reviews. It's the software that worries me (ie backdoor spying).
Put one of these in your bathroom for her.

I have this system Limited-time deal: REOLINK 8CH 5MP Home Security Camera System, 4pcs Wired 5MP Outdoor PoE IP Cameras, 4K 8CH NVR with 2TB HDD for 24-7 Recording, RLK8-410B4-5MP https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016UCNP3A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_dl_KS54TDFVY093BCTW01SE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have the Happy Baby one on Amazon. Affordable and great visible quality in the dark. No wifi needs. We have a one floor house so I’m not sure how the range is on a big house. Works great for us. Don’t need to drain my phone battery, comes with a perfect size monitor.
Picked it because two other mom friends used it and had no complaints.
I currently have a cheap 4 camera system ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CGK6B52 ), forward and rear facing cams on both side view mirrors. Doesn't help when doing blindside backs since it can't be turned like a power mirror, but I pull a dry van.
Just ordered 2 of these 8 camera systems to replace my current 4 camera setup, hoping to obtain 360 degree camera coverage: https://www.dashcam.co/products/black-box-dash-cam-3-8-cameras-4tb-drive
Will have forward and reverse facing on both side view mirrors.
Forward and angled a bit out from both sides of my windshield.
Forward and reverse facing on both sides of the middle of the trailer (which will help with blindside backing)
1 or 2 rear facing at the back of the trailer (will also help with backing)
1 in the nose of the trailer pointing back and 1 in the rear of the trailer pointing forward (to check the load during transit and provide proof if a dock worker causes damage).
Something like this could work, comes with everything you need, 2 TB Recorder and 4 cameras that plug into the recorder for power and data feed. You may need longer ethernet cables, but it comes with 4 x 18m ethernet cables for the cameras
https://www.amazon.com/Surveillance-Supported-Security-Recording-RLK8-410B4/dp/B01AHXEHSU
Could do the side mirror view with multiple dashcams or a single multi cam system. Can get around the installing issue by using zipties and pipe clamps. https://i.imgur.com/j5x3cQy.jpeg
Cams in that picture are from this system: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CGK6B52/
Records 2-3 days of video on a 128gb SD card running 24 hours a day before overwriting the oldest video.
Drawback is that you need to use a laptop with special program (free but buggy) to convert the videos to a standard avi format to be viewable off the cam system.
I have 2 sets, one I've had for years and a new one (4K) I bought to replace it. Will I ended up just using both she not retiring the old one lol.
The old one is no longer available, but this is the pretty much the same one, just slightly updated hardware: https://www.amazon.com/Reolink-Security-8-Channel-Recording-RLK8-410B4-5MP/dp/B016UCNP3A
This is the newer 4K set I have: https://www.amazon.com/Security-8-Channel-Surveillance-Recording-RLK8-800B4/dp/B07K734ZTW
I definitely recommend the 4K one, there is a significant jump up in picture quality.
I live in the Northeast, plenty of rain and snow here.
