I know a lot of fans here haven't picked up the Red Wheelbarrow notebook yet, so I thought I'd upload this.
Later in the series we see Elliot and Krista having sessions. In one of them she talks about how it was hard to see him again after what he did. We never really see HOW they reconciled, though.
There's A LOT of content in the book, but here's a draft of the letter Elliot sent to her. It's interesting me to see him trying to make things right, but also to see him fighting to get Krista back so that he can get help.
Anway, it's just a little bit of extra content I thought fit here. Enjoy!

And it isn't "books." And it's just extra content to supplement the show.
There are no fucking books for this show.
Nope, we just both pulled from the same sources.
Namely:

And
(Which is also based on Star Charts)
Rewatch! I promise you'll see SO MANY things differently when you rewatch. It's amazing.
Also, the Red Wheelbarrow book is so worth it! It's amazingly detailed. It's 160 pages of Elliot's stream of consciousness. It's $30 right now, but often dips down closer to $20. (Prime day it was actually about $10.50!)
Neither, New Orleans is going to be underwater, Phoenix is going to be without water.
You should read The Water Knife, its fantastic.
To those interested why exactly, please do yourself a HUGE favor and read this book. https://www.amazon.com/Second-After-John-Matherson-Novel-ebook/dp/B002LATV16 It has two more in the series. Best urban survival fiction story i have ever read. EMP's are fucking scary because the human nature is scary. I was recommended this book on this subreddit a while back and i thank you, whoever you are.
One Second Later by William R. Forstchen. I have a T1 son and read it before his diagnosis. Reflecting on it post-diag makes it so much scarier. https://www.amazon.com/Second-After-John-Matherson-Novel-ebook/dp/B002LATV16

Seems like a cool book, I usually like water baron themes, so I might check it out.
There are lots of official maps. This one is from This book from 2002. They've also released a high quality stellar cartography book as recently as 2018.
Good book on this hypothetical scenario: https://www.amazon.com/Second-After-John-Matherson-Novel/dp/0765327252
EMP would probably send us back to the turn of the century.
Unfortunately this is not the case. You can go to Amazon and see the actual ISBN.
What shows there is ISBN-10: 1419724428, ISBN-13: 978-1419724428. The only reason I think this could be anything is cause it is found on whoismrrobot.com, none of the other RWB pictures include this barcode, and Kor Adana specifically said last week on the Aftershow that if you see barcodes to check them out.
It's the journal Elliot writes in jall. Hot Carla narrates the audiobook. The attention to detail is really next level.
I just realized that there is an actual notebook for the series, here is a link for amazon, where you can buy it.
Yeah, Im fully into ebooks, but the cost really is BS. I think there is some drama between publishers and amazon that always inflates the prices. Some self published authors have really cheap Ebooks (I loved this book and its sequels and they're only $3-$5 each). So there is a chance the prices may go down at some point if something changes between amazon and publishers.
I actually got into Ebooks while pirating them, so cost wasn't an issue, after awhile i got so used to the convenience of having it on my phone I couldn't go back to print. Then i had a little more spending money and decided buying them was even more convenient.

Historical cycles do happen, but you can't model them as simply as an oscillating sine wave. And I wouldn't label the peaks and troughs as Marxist vs. Capitalist extremes; an axis of expansion vs. preservation would be more suitable. And in any case, this sine wave model seems to posit a supreme and transcendent universal Capitalism whereby all possible resources are extracted and exploited in a way that maximizes both utility and desire-production.

The Singularity Series by William Hertling
Was barely able to put it down. If you are interested in the possibility we are headed towards a technological singularity this is great hard scifi that paints a plausible, well thought out, and very engaging path towards it and through it.
This is just the beginning and has be predicted ... more to come!

There is the book Star Trek Star Charts which I recall having the Gamma and Delta quadrant maps too. I loved that book. Should still have it somewhere :)
We need to accept that there are no real, long-term solutions to the sixth mass extinction of our planet; that window closed at the turn of the century. We've set in motion climate change mechanisms that are irreversible for the next 500 years and the results of which are locked in for millennia. Degrowth won't make a difference in the deterioration of the stable climate necessary to grow food or raise animals on _any_ scale. The s**t's already hit the fan for the poorest countries, which is why the focus of the COP27 conference was compensation for economic loss and damage due those countries from the rich, polluting countries (which I expect to be unfulfilled). Rich, Westernized, Educated, Industrialized, Educated Democracies (WEIRD) have less than a decade left before the economic services provided by a temperate climate fail them at scale, and they factionalize to protect local natural resources. Read The Water Knife for a preview of what that looks like in the U.S.
That's cool, might check that one out. I just read One Second After which I think might be the most popular prepper book ever (?). It was pretty entertaining, although there definitely is an aspect of clear fiction. I liked that the protagonist wasn't the classic uber-man trained in all forms of combat with a square jaw and broad shoulders.
Ted Koppel wrote Lights Out, which is a non-fiction book about the risks to our power grid. Less exciting, but more accurate and thoughtful (in my mind).
I have been on an EMP fiction kick. (Books about what happens after an EMP hits and we lose all electronics.) They are fun, and I learn things. I am learning things necessary to survive after something like this, and having fun doing it. No, they aren't true, but the writers tend to do their research.
I really enjoyed this one: One Second After by: William R. Forstchen
Not mind blowing, but a good read. ;)
From the size of the Federation presented in Star Charts, (portions of which have been canonized by forming the basis of on-screen maps), very likely. That source presents known space as 1,500 light years in diameter (vs. the galaxy's diameter of over 100,000 light years, making it only a tiny portion of either quadrant.
I'll definitely give it a read. Who is Amin Hammani though? Red Wheelbarrow on Amazon
The Water Knife Paperback – April 5, 2016
by Paolo Bacigalupi
In the near future, the Colorado River has dwindled to a trickle. Detective, assassin, and spy, Angel Velasquez “cuts” water for the Southern Nevada Water Authority, ensuring that its lush arcology developments can bloom in Las Vegas. When rumors of a game-changing water source surface in Phoenix, Angel is sent south, hunting for answers that seem to evaporate as the heat index soars and the landscape becomes more and more oppressive. There, he encounters Lucy Monroe, a hardened journalist with her own agenda, and Maria Villarosa, a young Texas migrant, who dreams of escaping north. As bodies begin to pile up, the three find themselves pawns in a game far bigger and more corrupt than they could have imagined, and when water is more valuable than gold, alliances shift like sand, and the only truth in the desert is that someone will have to bleed if anyone hopes to drink.

Oh, my friend.
There's a book that goes along with season 2. It's Elliot's journal.
And it's REMARKABLE. It's *so* detailed. It's really, really cool.
