I've been wanting to read Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi - and it comes out tomorrow!
It's listed as "Teen & Young Adult" on Amazon, but the description definitely makes it sound like fantasy to me.
Not My Idea: A Book About Whiteness (Ordinary Terrible Things)
"An honest explanation about how power and privilege factor into the lives of white children, at the expense of other groups, and how they can help seek justice. —THE NEW YORK TIMES"
The author has a series of children's picture-books about difficult topics, like divorce and death. Anastasia Higginbotham
Reader reviews are very polarized - mostly either 5 star or 1 star.
Book one is FREE on Amazon.CA, same as all other countries. Link is below. As for book 2, Amazon limits countdown deals to US and UK, so the price remains the same. However, if you enjoy book one, you can grab the full series eBook bundle for the price of one book.
Hey there. Just checked. Don't know what happened. Should be working for Canada as well. Try going through this link and please let me know if it worked: https://www.amazon.ca/Thread-Book-Trueborn-Heirs-ebook/dp/B07PF4QZLS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=nyna+queen&qid=1600674129&sr=8-1
There should be a big "buy for free" button. Best, Nyna

Now I'm really confused. I JUST saw a post that had both a photo AND text with a link. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it. The best I could come up with is put the link in the comments or the title. That seems kind of needy. lol Anybody want to share their wisdom to this reddit nube?

>Luke Aaluk and his younger brothers Bunna and Isaac are sent by their mother to Sacred Heart, a Catholic boarding school to the south of their Alaskan community, where Eskimo and Indian students are enculturated in white customs and values. Isaac, who is technically too young to be enrolled, is promptly sent off into foster care without the consent, or even notification, of their mother. Luke and Bunna make an attempt at escape, but they are tracked down by one of the more open-minded priests and convinced they should give the school another chance.
