Honestly though, I have a book of fairy tales about strong women and it's the bomb.
The Enchanted forest chronicles. It's about a princess who is not a typical princess, (She bakes cherries jubalee and knows some magic and sword fighting) A friendly king of dragons, a kitchen witch with a dozen cats, and the king of the enchanted forest and all the crazy pressures he has to deal with. These books are amazing, the ladies are strong the gentlemen clever and it's a fun read. Read it to my sons when they were in their middle teens and they loved it.

I think I know exactly what the 2nd book you’re talking about is. It’s called Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede. I’ve been rereading it since I was a kid too, and it’s really good.
It also dealt w/ fantasy-style loopholes and dry humor that may have influenced your defense.
If you're interested in a story that is slightly similar to the premise in this comic, I suggest The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. The first book is Dealing with Dragons.
I’m pretty sure I bought it on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/dp/1481416499/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NdzeDb3C0DKQS hope that link works (I’m on mobile) I found it available new just now by searching “Song of the Lioness Box Set”. They’re paperbacks! Alanna is amazing :) also I’m digging your Eddings username!
It is a box set here’s the link to amazon for it

Edit. This is amazon.ca I’m sure you can find it on whatever platform you need
I think I can help you. The keywords you're looking for are "young adult." Young adult fiction is recommended for intermediate and upper-intermediate learners that want a book that is challenging but still enjoyable. Go to your favorite book store and search for young adult literature. The first English book I could read and fully enjoy was Ahsoka (yes, I'm a Star Wars fan!) it's considered young adult literature.
The enchanted forest series by Patricia wrede. Fun reads, smart girl protagonist, fantasy. This is book 1: https://www.amazon.com/Dealing-Dragons-Enchanted-Forest-Chronicles/dp/0544541227/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=patricia+wrede&qid=1613419460&sr=8-4
I was hoping to send one for my grandson. Didn't realize it had spiraled that high.
If it helps, there's 4 new copies through amazon.ca, 24 Canuckle bucks. Shipping will jack it up accordingly.
Where's My Cow?: Terry Pratchett: 9780060872670: Books - Amazon.ca
See, this is the problem with today's youth. You have a girl royal brat and they're a princess, you have a boy royal brat and they're a prince, that's what those words mean :P
Also, read this do it now you know you want to.
In the recent Ahsoka book there is some Bail/Obi-Wan related discussion that to me implied a greater connection between them, now that the majority of the Jedi were wiped out and they are two of the only people that know the truth about Luke/Leia.

Tatterhood was always my favorite growing up. It's about a dark haired, wild, donkey riding princess that is uncouth and not princess-like, that no one likes, but turns out to be the hero that saves her sister. I honestly don't know why Disney didn't do a story about it.
The rest of the book is all about female empowerment fairy tales. Pretty awesome.
My three year old also loves My First Book of Girl Power, mostly because she thinks I'm Wonder Woman and she screams when she sees Black Canary (sonic scream, ya know).
I mean.... Game of Thrones? The whole overarching plot is ice zombies coming to kill everyone (eventually someday whoknows).
Aside from that, the only other thing I could find that was somewhat related is The Forest of Teeth and Hands by Carrie Ryan. Everything else is set in some post-apocalyptic world. Alright, zombie authors, you know what needs to happen now.
P.S..
I know that they have this style for the Immortals series as well.
Here is an Amazon link to this particular box set (reasonable price!)
And here is The Immortals in this set.
If they decide to do the Protector of the Small (which ranks highly in my opinion) then I will be quite pleased! I remember buying the first Beka Cooper but then never actually getting into it. Worth it?
I think he implied that her story would be continued in another medium, and look what's on pre-order on Amazon:
Hah, well "The Lost Knights of Honor" sounds a lot more badass than furnace (though it's cool too), though I kind of like "the lost cow" lol, makes me think of the Discworld book
Oh, nice. That is a really good name, but I'm even more attached to Giddon than to him being a Vandagyre, if that makes sense? Giddon's a character from one of my favorite books, so I'm really happy to have him. :)
Thank you so so much for offering! I can't believe the kindness of the people in this community. :)
The Forest of Hands and Teeth. It's a YA novel, but it totally gave me weird dreams while I was reading it. Creepy as hell. I bought the sequel but haven't brought myself to read it yet.
Also, Infected: A Novel. Pretty atmospheric, although not amazing. I think it would work better as a movie than a book, which is a rare thing.
Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy. Bit lesser known than Potter or Dark Materials...but just as well written and just as dark.
