Hi Everyone!
Midway through the pandemic, I found myself feeling a bit stuck. After wanting to do so for years and looking for a challenge, I decided to try writing a book.
Now, months later, I am happy to say that I'm currently writing the fourth book in that series, and book 3 comes out in a week on June 8th!

I can get lots of traffic. I can get great reviews and sales. But converting to purchases is a mystery for me, and often my conversion rate is low for reasons that I don't know why.
This might not be "Amazon Legal" but if there was a page that mimicked amazon exactly but showed me at what point visitors left for testing that would be amazing.

Sacred Cat Island is a novel about an NPC family that moves to an island of retirees for a summer, where the dad takes over a general store from his recently deceased uncle.
The book works on several levels and is my first that is suitable for all ages. By several levels I mean you could read it slowly for the odd, maybe Pixar-esque take on slow progression, or you may pick up on the parts about growing old, or being stuck in a job that seems mindless, or the whimsical nature of youth and how things that shouldn’t be magical often are.
There’s a lot to unpack here, and I suspect that different scenes will affect different readers in profound ways. While it is slice of life, there is progression fantasy here (albeit subtle), island cultivation, LitRPG, the importance of family and community, action and a serious dose of magical realism that can lean dark a la Neil Gaiman, or light like some of the Studio Ghibli stuff.
I don’t want to ruin the surprises but there are some HUGE surprises, so look for those…

The Weight of it All series. Only some people awaken to powers, and when they do they only get a single affinity, and only a single skill. Through practice and levelling up they can add more skills that directly relate to their affinity, but thats it (unless they get an incredibly rare and extremely hard to unlock general skill). Enjoyable series.

The first book in the series introduces Terrence, a boy who has received the Affinity of WEIGHT from the Goddess, Tom a more veteran Dungeoneer with an Affinity of SWORD, and many other characters, all with unique Skills, Affinities, and backgrounds. The first book is slow and slice of life, as it introduces the world, but later books include a lot more dungeon diving, monster fighting, dungeon collapses, and war. As the series continues, the stakes are raised considerably.

Hello! The fourth book in my series is named 'Collapse' and in 'The Weight Of It All' a major theme of the series is 'consequence'. A major event, like a ' Dungeon Collapse' happening near the main character, means a shift in the main character's life and the lives of those around him. People are displaced, loved ones are killed, and rulers are enraged.
As a result, Terrence's life is changed dramatically as he must deal with, and recover from, the events in book 4. This theme persists into book 6, where the choices of the few impact the lives of the many - especially Terrence.
Book 4 is a bit sad, but I really enjoyed writing and reading it. And I hope you all enjoy reading it too :). Have a great weekend!

This is the link for the US. It’s a good series but the author chose not to go the KU route. I know that’s a deal breaker for some, especially for a first book, but I did greatly enjoy both meaty reads.
