I've been wanting to read Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi - and it comes out tomorrow!
It's listed as "Teen & Young Adult" on Amazon, but the description definitely makes it sound like fantasy to me.
Yeah not as simplified as if they simply Transfigured themself into an animal. In that case they wouldn't even keep their human mind. The book said:
>While in their animal form, they retain most of their ability to think as a human, their own sense of identity and their memories. [...] However, feelings and emotions are simplified and they will have many animal desires
So Amazon is having an ebook sale for 80% of the first book in selected series. Since A Wizard of Earthsea is on sale, I saw that this was on sale as well. I heard great things about this series.
I haven't read path of the heavenly throne personally but if you want a good cultivation novel on KU try painting the mists its a good xanxia novel imo but isnt litrpg so that might be a deal breaker.
Just over 200 pages, but is worth a look:

You might be interested in Mark of the fool it's on RR with about 400 chapters but it also just hit Kindle Unlimited with book one and book two coming out soonish. I don't remember the date though
Yeah, I second the Pottermore notes. They're a lot of fun and especially good for backstory on some of my favorite characters.
You can find them on Amazon too, here's one example - https://www.amazon.com/Hogwarts-Hardship-Dangerous-Pottermore-Presents-ebook/dp/B01JLXETNK/ref=sr\_1\_1?crid=1KYL3870UEPU6&keywords=pottermore&qid=1663022132&sprefix=pottermore%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-1
Have you read Painting the Mists? Silver Fox and the Western Hero?
Mark of the Fool is probably a story you'd enjoy, it ticks most of the boxes.
The book is out in September and I think the first book is quite large
But it's out on RR and well past the full book.
If I had one piece of advice, figure out some method of reading on RR that's comfortable for you, I like to read in bed and I have a stand for my laptop that makes that comfortable. Add some extensions to the browser or use something like Firefox's Reader mode and you can make it a comfortable experience. Once you do, you'll have access to so many good stories it's unreal.
Hey peeps!
I'm a local author of fantasy and science fiction! My novel, Knightmare Arcanist, won the BRAG Award, the Apple Fantasy Away, and the Coffee Pot Book Club Award. I just wanted to share with everyone, lol
If you like reading, please consider checking it out: https://www.amazon.com/Knightmare-Arcanist-Frith-Chronicles-Book-ebook/dp/B07QMKVFJM
This is one of the ebooks Rowling published with the most important writings she did for the old Pottermore. I don't know if this is on the Wizarding World website nowadays. The new website sucks.
Not exactly clear, but in the description of how to become an Animagi which Rowling wrote in one of her E-Books it is noted that it's always the animal that becomes your patronus.
>The animal into which one turns, if an Animagus, seems always to be that which becomes the Patronus. There is no known instance of the Animagus form changing to match the Patronus if the latter changes, but the Animagus who can also produce a Patronus is highly unusual and no study has ever been done on sufficient numbers to draw firm conclusions.
So stuff like personality probably plays a role. Though names probably also affect things somewhat, as Sirius Black turned into a large Black Dog(Sirius himself being named after the Dog Star)
How about Painting the Mists by Patrick Laplante? https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07BJFFXL5/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_SQDSFB7JN49AXDSAQSXK
It's got that asian fantasy vibe, but it's a western novel at its core. And the progression is very well done, with its focus on themes like depression and loss.
It's not really litrpg, but it's very similar to pokemon. Except the summons give there owners powers. Also not cute animals.

This iteration of Sarkhan reminds me of the character Jackson from The Completionist Chronicles series by Dakota Krout.
There's a side-story book that has Jackson on the cover - I think you can see the likeness.
Maybe we can get them to join, too?
I'm in the midst of book 1 in a new trilogy; it is pretty great, so far...so I'm not gonna be able to force myself to put it down (c; you know how it is, LOL
So, let's keep in touch! Or, if you're looking for something to start now, I'd definitely recommend it! (It's $0.99 for Kindle) The Keeper Chronicles by JA Andrews
Short stories from hogwarts. They are digital releases from jkr! It’s great! I had a great time reading all 3 of them. Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies (Kindle Single) (Pottermore Presents Book 1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JLXETNK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_H.CaGb7GMHDNR
The Keeper Chronicles by JA Andrews is just amazing. It's absolutely riveting, and at the same time has a charm and cozy feeling that is exactly what you are looking for. It is sooooo good!

Yes, but that is an advanced ability.
It's mentioned as part of the process of becoming an animagus in one of the E-books Rowling wrote.
> 10.To return to a human form, visualise your human self as clearly as you can. This should be sufficient, but do not panic if the transformation does not occur immediately. With practice, you will be able to slip in and out of your animal form at will, simply by visualising the creature. Advanced Animagi can transform without wands.
I haven't seen this recommended yet so I thought I would add this to the list. The Keeper Chronicles by JA Andrews is a trilogy I found on Kindle Unlimited that was a very enjoyable read. Right now, the entire trilogy is available for purchase for only $0.99.
Highly recommend Short stories written as a supplement to the books. Also if you're interested in some fan fiction I really enjoyed Herminone's POV
Its already revealed in the the E-Books Rowling wrote, Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies.
Someone posted the specific part about the process of becoming a Animagus here on Tumblr.

OP, if you liked A Thousand Li in the progression genre, I have to recommend the Painting the Mists series. Its all about cultivation and has 6 books in the series currently. I quite enjoyed it. Just like A Thousand Li, its not a translated series so the prose is much better than you get out of standard Wuxia novels
Yo you should check out the series Painting the Mists. Its a typical Xianxia novel but its written by a western author and is easy to read. I loved it

book teaser for the first one so you don't have to look
Getting eaten alive is the worst! Stabbings, maimings, and corrosive black magic are not that great either, but you really don't want to be a wolf treat! That is the kind of hands on, “teeth on,” education you get when you are summoned to The Land. James did not want to be summoned! Not really... well a maybe, just a bit! But he had certainly not AGREED to be summoned! … Well technically speaking he HAD agreed, but good god, who had the time to read all of that fine print when there was epic gaming to be done! When DangerZone Industries had released the latest and greatest VRMMORPG, James, and millions of other virtual reality players, had sought purpose and self-definition in this new world. The tag line "Live the life your soul was meant for," had captured the hearts and minds of his entire generation. "The Land," was the largest and most dynamic virtual reality game of all time. James and his friends had devoted countless hours, and become one of the top teams in the game. They were at the brink of greatness, but then there was this light! (it was predictably white, but whatever!) When he was actually summoned to The Land, it was both disturbing and exhilarating. When he then became entangled in the eternal war of sprites and goblins, the unsavory practices of the local king, and had a memorable night at the inn called the Whistling Hen, he came to one clear conclusion: Again, getting eaten alive is really REALLY the worst! While uncovering such deep philosophical knowledge, James will forge a place in this new world, and hopefully avoid the machinations of those who want him to destroy it. What does it mean to be a Chaos Seed anyway???
