Best bookshelf speakers you can get at this price.
You need something to drive them (amp). There are cheaper options, but the SMSL SA-36A Pro desktop amp is a very good option.
You'd need an HDMI splitter to send the output from one Roku STB to both displays. One example is https://www.amazon.com/HD-102-Powered-Splitter-Certified-Support/dp/B005HXFARS
Get an HDMI splitter and launder the signal by running it through port 2.
This one (and others like it) strip out the HDCP, giving you a clean signal that the TV will accept as 4K.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005HXFARS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fab_WA7DFb8RZ3HYE
Maybe something like this. I have no idea if it works as intended, but seems to have a downscaling option.
this allows you to use your 360 compatible controller on ps4 games running on ps5: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B82M9TG/
however, to be 100% compatible with native ps5 games, you will probably have to dual mod your stick with a ps5 padhack
yep, an HDMI splitter which removes HDCP is the easiest ticket. I use the OREI 1x2 HDMI Splitter Model #HD-102. Caution!! Amazon description says it doesnt strip HDCP, but reviews are filled with folks who ordered one and say that HDCP stripping is/isn't working. So it seems like hit or miss, but the one I got does strip HDCP. Note, it does not pass 4K (not that you need that for PS3).
I would not recommend giving your kids access to a computer that you need for your home business. How about a USB stick to let them watch Netflix on the TV?
https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Fire-TV-Stick-Streaming-Media-Player/dp/B00GDQ0RMG
I use the "ViewHD" HDMI splitter. I was into game capture stuff on PS3 and literally everything that comes out of the PS3 HDMI is HDCP protected. Here's an Amazon link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004F9LVXC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_dp_T1_ec7GzbV5GZY03
Also, I would highly recommend the Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro, the video latency so low you can game while viewing the capture software on a pc monitor instead of having a second tv/monitor to view the live gaming video and a pc monitor to view/record from a game capture device, if that makes sense.
Line level is a weak audio signal, (nowhere near 150w,) produced by a preamp inside of the receiver and that weak signal has to be sent to an amplifier to be amplified in order to power the speakers.
If your receiver had been designed for a non-powered subwoofer there would be subwoofer speaker terminals to connect a non-powered subwoofer to. Your receiver has speaker terminals for Fronts, Center and Surrounds only. The subwoofer outputs means your receiver was designed for using a powered subwoofer.
The reason there are 2 subwoofer outs on the back of your receiver is for connecting 2 powered subwoofers to it when the setup is in a very large room that needs more umph! in the bass end. The R and L is just for knowing which line goes to which subwoofer if 2 are used, not for right and left channels, because the low end audio spectrum is mono, not stereo.
Another reason for the 2 subwoofer outputs is for using a powered, dual voice coil subwoofer, those have 2 inputs on the back of them.
Anyway; The ratings for your Sony receiver on Amazon are incorrect. They may be incorrect in your user's manual too.

You need a capture device. Before you purchase anything, you should do plenty of research first. The PS3 uses HDCP, and will not work with devices such as the Elgato HD60 (along with its sibling models, excluding the now rare Elgato Game Capture HD). To get around the PS3’s HDCP, you will need a device known as an HDMI Splitter This type of device can splice your HDMI signal so it can go to multiple other devices.
Some HDMI splitters do not work to circumvent HDCP. Do research to find the right one (one that is lagless and has transfers the signal properly). I also want to record PS3 gameplay for video game reviews, and just purchased this splitter off of Amazon:
ViewHD 2 Port 1x2 Powered HDMI Mini Splitter for 1080P & 3D | Model: VHD-1X2MN3D https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004F9LVXC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gt9iCbYRY0WFE
Hopefully it works.
Don't listen to people telling you that you can't get anything for that budget. It won't be perfect and you won't get a dedicated sub for that price, but if you start small you can start with a very good base to upgrade from. Get a simple amp such as this 2 channel SMSL amp for £43 from Amazon, and pair it with these Tannoy Eclipse Mini bookshelves from Richer Sounds. (You'll also need some speaker wire which you can order from Richer Sounds too.) It won't replicate a full 5.1 system but for the money the quality will be hard to beat, and when the time comes you can upgrade at your own pace to a much better setup. From there you can upgrade first to a cheap 5.1 receiver, then some towers and move the Tannoy's to rears, and eventually a centre and a sub and you'll have a decent system while minimising waste.
>Support PS5 DualSense controller (in wired & wireless). Compatible PS4 games are playable on PS5 console. PS5 games are NOT supported.
https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Wingman-Support-Controller-Converter/dp/B08B82M9TG
Damn. Got excited for a moment but didn't think it would.
There may be better solutions, but here's how I've got it going without the lag.
HDMI source goes to > https://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Splitter-1x2-4K-60Hz/dp/B07VP37KMB
That splitter's output 1 has CEC which goes to the TV. Output 2 > https://www.amazon.com/GANA-Composite-Converter-Supports-DVD-Black/dp/B06W9LQDBB And then that's connected to the composite > USB adapter that I linked to in the previous comment (which is then connected to my Raspberry Pi).
Make sense? It's not the most elegant setup, but it works. You can always DM me if you have any more questions.
cheaper option is to get a splitter that downscales one of the outputs. I use the EZCOO 4k hdmi splitter Model #SP12H2. I can confirm it works for a PS4 PRO and PS5 signal. One signal goes to my 4k monitor. The other signal goes to the capture card for 1080p. It works using a Elgato HD60 or the Elgato HD60 Pro. Haven't tested on HD60S+.
Amazon link EZCO HDMI Splitter
This guy has a good review one it.
Brooks makes pretty reliable converters. May want to look at their Wingman series, specifically the XE, designed for PS3 and PS4. (Saw the Mad Catz TE stick listed in supported controllers on Brooks site product listing here.)
https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Wingman-Support-Controller-Converter/dp/B08B82M9TG
Not sure if PS5 support can be added VIA firmware update or it will need a HW revision (However have seen reports it works fine on PS5 when playing PS4 versions of games), but assume it's in the works along with getting the UFB PS5 compatible.
While I don’t have the 60S version of ElGato, I’ve been using the base 60 for years now. For PS3, I’ve always used this splitter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005HXFARS?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details. I see no reason why it wouldn’t be compatible with your model. You’ll also need some additional HDMI cables for the splitter, just so you know. If you need a video on how to set things up, I followed one on YouTube if you want the link. But be aware said video was for the HD60 and not the HD60S.
Amazon has the brook wingman in stock:
Brook Wingman XE Support Xbox Series S/X/Xbox 360/ Xbox One/Xbox Elite/Xbox Elite Series 2/PS5 Dualsense/PS4/PS3/Controllers on PS5 PS4 PS3 Console Super Converter Gaming Adapter Turbo and Remap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B82M9TG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V2ZMRMPRPD7X9PM1WWY9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Order one of these and put it between your avr and the tv sources: 4K HDMI Splitter 1x2 HDR Vision Atmos 18Gbps- HDMI Scaler 4K 1080P Sync,4K HDMI Splitter 1 in 2 out 60Hz 4:4:4 HDCP2.2, EDID Scaler Panel Switch,Firmware Upgrade,USB Power,Windows IOS,Mini Case SP12H2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VP37KMB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_R9CCSR92DT05D4G628MA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Edit: just to clarify, this will trick your system into thinking everything is 4K and everything should work as you want. 4K tv plays in 4K, 1080 tv plays 1080 and your avr will keep its high audio for the higher source quality.
Yup, this is the only way to get around the HDCP issue. Luckily, it is not that expensive. The link below points to the one I purchased and does the job and allows the PS3 to play nice with the El Gato capture card. It is retailing now for $11.89 on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005HXFARS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
hey! that was just me on mobile too, i have some more info now that i'm at a computer!
digital vita games work just fine on the VitaTV as long as they are "VitaTV Compatible" so you just have to look at the description in the Playstation Store to see if it will work.
next thing is the "splitter" i was talking about. this is the one i used and know works with recording on el gato HD: amazon link
make sure the box that says "v1.3" is ticked.
have a good one! :)
$16 solution, an HDMI splitter [I have the same capture card] -- I came across this problem about a week ago & have been streaming PS3 since. Instructions: Plug HDMI cable into back of PS3 & the other end of the cable into the input of the splitter, then take another HDMI cable & run it from the output of the splitter into to the input of the HD60, then finally another HDMI cable from the output of the HD60 & into the monitor.
Amazon link to the splitter I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005HXFARS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_XUFuAbSDNPK5Q
Also: you have to power the splitter by just plugging it in & you need 3 HDMI cables
This device is said to be an HDCP sink that will pass through the HDMI signal. I own one but haven’t had a chance to confirm. Many users on Amazon attest that it works.
One note about DVI compatibility: the display must support DVI-I or DVI-D. DVD-A is not compatible.
It’s possible it may have the same issue as the PS3 where it uses a HDCP handshake to the monitor. If that is the case you may need to buy an HDMI splitter that will remove that. They are usually about $15 on Amazon. I’m not sure if that’s what’s going on but if it is this will do the trick
A DAC is a Digital to Analog converter. It changes the 1s and 0s from your computer into waves that the speakers can read. The problem with internal ones (in your computers) is that there is a lot of electrical interference, and it can make the sound very 'noisy' and you'll miss out on some stuff and some extra stuff will be added.
A receiver is basically just an amplifier for more than 2 channels. If you look up an amplifier on amazon, you'll find stuff like this that can only output to 2 speakers (front left and front right). To do surround, you need a receiver, which has outputs for more channels.
AVR is a receiver. Audio Video Receiver, if I'm not mistaken.
One thing you didn't ask because you probably have no idea that you need to: you don't need a DAC if you use a receiver. The receiver will have a DAC inside of it, but it will be shielded so there will be no interference like the one in your computer would have.
These are passive speakers - they haven't got an amp built in. Active speakers have an amp built in and will provide an interface for aux/3.5mm.
For passive speakers, typically people will use an amp which can take in your aux input and then those hook up to these speakers. I've read a few posts of people hacking together a wire which can connect these directly to a 3.5mm jack, but I wouldn't recommend that so YMMV.
Here's an example of a relatively cheap amp:
The PS3 has HDCP which cannot be turned off. The only workaround is to get an HDMI splitter which will strip the HDCP from the signal. I can confirm that this splitter: https://www.amazon.com/HD-102-Powered-Splitter-Certified-Support/dp/B005HXFARS will do it but i don't know about other brands.
Yep, here’s a $40 one.
Looking long-term, it might be worth the investment. Amazon currently has a sale on both the Fire Stick and Fire TV (although fair warning, I've heard people complain about the latency on the Fire Stick).
Definitely try another cable if it has worked in the past.
But if all else fails and you need to strip HDCP out of the signal, this splitter will do the job:
http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Powered-Splitter-1080P-VHD-1X2MN3D/dp/B004F9LVXC/
It won't work. You need a router like they say, or you can just get an Amazon Fire Stick which worked fine for me here.
Assuming your speakers are passive you will need something to power them, this is what an amp/receiver does. Something like this Yamaha.
Either pick up a capture card with a passthrough, or get an HDMI splitter. Here's the one we use - it works as intended!
Those will work fine. I owned that exact Sherwood and it was ok, the phonostage was kinda meh, but for the price you could not really complain. Alternatively you could go the Yamaha and a ART DJ PRE if you can increase your budget a tad.
I see, but from your knowledge would you have a suggestion on a decent receiver. I would like to have the best experience possible. I read the basic set up on the side and it gave suggestions for receivers but though my own research I was leaning towards http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F0H88SY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2L77EE7U53NWQ. Would this be more sufficient then my current sony surround sound?
This is what I use as an HDMI splitter, it also conveniently breaks HDCP so you can record PS3 video via HDMI:
www.amazon.com/dp/B004F9LVXC/
For component/composite, any RCA splitters should work.
Q502USB provides phantom power, and the SM35 XLR variant comes with a phantom powered modulator to run the headset. The mixer plugs into the wall.
Oh, but DO plan to buy an XLR cable! Even just a 5-10 foot shortie. The wire from the headset is very short (only about 3 feet), to the point that I wasn't able to use it alone with my mixer sitting within arm's reach.
these work as well for hooking up whatever controller you want. I use PS4 controllers so I'm not putting 'miles' on my PS5 controller when I play '14 on ps3
Looking over some other reddit posts, I found this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017W13OR0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_U2NSBbTRHGFS5?th=1
Would this work? And if so, the type of cables I need and how many I'd need would be good info.
I agree with TheRealCreedux, Use a Soldering Iron & Solder wick to desolder all those pads on the motherboard. If they are all there, You can reflow a new wifi/bluetooth module... Assuming ofcoarse that you have a Hot Air Station.
Worst Case Scenario, you can use a Brooks Wingman XE Dongle as a workaround for the bluetooth controllers: https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Wingman-Support-Controller-Converter/dp/B08B82M9TG
and a Powerline Adapter/Wifi Extender/ or a Mesh Router, They will basically act as External Wifi Antenna's with LAN ports built in, to connect the PS4 thru ethernet.
This one, I don't think it can be rivalled for comfort.
The pivot is super handy too.
Nope, some games just aren't compatible with generic controllers. Even though that's an official sony controller, since it's not a ps3 controller, it is recognized as a generic. Since real PS3 controllers are so hard to find, you'll have to buy one off ebay or use a device that makes it so that generic controllers are recognized as a ps3.
I use this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B82M9TG/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o02\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004F9LVXC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
use it all the time to remove HDCP from my dvr.
Here are the ones I purchased:
Head-strap: Headstrap
Hand-straps: Handstraps
I use an HTC Vive Deluxe Audio Strap that is connected through a 3D printed adapter. It works fine, but I suspect some of the newer custom-made pieces (like https://smile.amazon.com/KIWI-design-Accessories-Enhanced-Support/dp/B098JTDPQC/) are better.
Just guessing..but is it giving you a headache due to the strap? Because that's a common complaint of it, it likes to hit pressure points. You can try an aftermarket strap like the this, can always return it, might solve your issue.
If you're gonna sell, better now then later when it's outdated.
PS3 has HDCP on Natively and it can not be turned off. To capture PS3 over HDMI you need to have an HDMI Splitter that bypasses the HDCP. This is the one I use and have directed many others to use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004F9LVXC
Just note, with HDMI Splitters YMMV. Some are going to work. Others just won't. It's kind of a crap shoot sometimes. However, of the 8 or 9 of these I've had others by, nobody yet has had an issue.
I just ordered mine. Can't take the discomfort anymore.
KIWI design Head Strap Accessories, Elite Strap for Enhanced Support and Comfort in VR Compatible with Quest 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098JTDPQC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_Y693VBJMEN0CM62991T7
Yeah, it appears to be unavailable on Amazon right now. I bought one from Amazon on Feb 28th, but the product page I used is no longer showing. I'm guessing they're out of stock at the moment. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B098JTDPQC/
I've had the Quest 2 since launch and haven't broken the controller even though I've punched hard objects a few times. The controllers are exceptionally sturdy, but the thumbsticks are prone to drift if you play anything that requires you to click down on sticks frequently. Stick drift is fixable or you buy a replacement controller (I did). The default strap is very uncomfortable since it places all the weight on your face which caused headaches for me. something like this strap would be much better.
I use one of these to get my ps5 controller working with ps3, but it works with a bunch of different controllers. Some controllers work wirelessly with rumble, others no rumble, and some need to be plugged into the adapter, but it's probably your best bet if you can't find another ds3. Do note that you can't use the controllers to turn on your ps3 with the adapter tho
4K HDMI Splitter 1x2 HDR D-o-l-b-y Vision Atmos Down Scaler - HDMI Scaler 4K 1080P Sync,4K 60Hz 4:4:4 HDMI Splitter 1 in 2 Out HDCP2.2, EDID 4K5.1/4K7.1/ Copy, for Game Xbox PS5 1080p120Hz Roku SP12H2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VP37KMB/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_HWQN6VZTC3110J1WR90D
This is the one I got. It works 100% It can be somewhat confusing at first to use, but once you figure it out it works great! I'd have to re learn how to use mine, it's been a few months since I last used it.
I don't recommend it if you use Netflix. When on the 4k mode it tries to use Dolby vision and for me I have no support for it so i had to switch it back and forth to get what I wanted.
You can get a Tivo Edge All-in for $450, which includes 500 GB of storage and a lifetime guide without additional subscription costs and no need for a streaming device (though it itself technically is a streaming device).
A cheaper option would be a TV tuner/DVR combo such as this Mediasnic HW-150PVR. While it does require USB storage, you can use a cheap USB flash drive. This low-profile Samsung Ultra Fit 64 GB drive only sticks out about 1 cm, so it will barely be noticeable. So about $50 total.
Do you have a splitter because you have other consoles? Or because you're referencing this method? Because you will need a splitter such as this (I'd go with this exact one) to make the work with a PS3. I have an HD60S+ and I am using an HDMI splitter as well (because of other consoles) and have the OREI splitter specifically for the PS3 and it works perfectly.
I bought the BoboVR strap. After minor modifications, it was really comfortable. Unfortunately, the bands snapped in about 3 months. Recently bought the Kiwi Design strap. The weight is distributed differently than the BoboVR but is just as comfortable. The bands promise to be much more durable as well. It is a little more expensive. It is on sale right now for $43.98. I have been really happy with.
Not sure about grips, but I bought an aftermarket facial interface that works quite well. Took a while to adjust it. I do like accessories.
What you're looking for is something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/OREI-HDMI-Splitter-Out-Duplicate/dp/B005HXFARS/
That will let you send one output to your TV and the other to your capture card.
I've never noticed any significant input latency. I play via my capture card so I don't have to keep switching my monitor over to the console input. Can't comment on audio, my hearing's too bad to notice stuff like that with any reliability.
Do note that HDCP might be an issue. Some of these splitters will bypass it for you, but it's not generally an advertised feature.
I got this one off Amazon. No issues.
KIWI design Head Strap for Oculus/Meta Quest 2 Accessories Elite Strap for Enhanced Support and Comfort in VR https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098JTDPQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_D5AG7BE8TDE9S0B4HQWF?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I just changed my headband to a Kiwi. So much more comfortable (stops the headaches I was getting) but it also rebalances the weight so the headset no longer has any noticeable front-heavy weight.
I think you'll get a lot of people recommending this one. The Kiwi strap. I got it and it made the Quest a dramatically more enjoyable experience. It balances weight better, is comfortable, is easy to adjust, and is sturdy.
I have a few first party DS3 controllers, and in fact I use one on my 360 with a brook adapter. It works great except for the fact it can't wake up the console when it is powered off. I would suggest snagging a brook adapter made for playstation, and using a newer controller like PS4, PS5 controller, or Xbox controller. I like the looks of the new 8bitdo pro 2 Xbox wired controller. Here is the PS3 controller adapter I am talking about. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B82M9TG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_AWKP06KBDMGQW8A76Q5J
A company made this for the Oculus Quest2 as well (thankfully), night and day difference in terms of comfort compared to that terrible strap it comes with.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B098JTDPQC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would think so. But don't quote me on it. Do you have an aftermarket strap or the one that came with it? My after market strap is super comfortable and doesn't mess up my curly and fizzy-ish hair lol if you need a good strap this one is the one I have
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B098JTDPQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_Q2Z0QEWQ7VSTVW2N867G
Mine recently just broke also. I just ended up getting an upgraded head strap from kiwi. It's so much better than the stock one.
The stock strap doesn't work for everyone either, so you may want to look into another option. I'm using the Kiwi strap and it's pretty comfortable!
Is this the strap you have?
KIWI design Head Strap for Oculus/Meta Quest 2 Accessories Elite Strap for Enhanced Support and Comfort in VR https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098JTDPQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_Z1ZAAVPPVPCVFZDTP064
I ended up buying the one linked in this post below. It claims to support HDR and Dolby, and has the ability to downscale the second output to SDR, preserving vivid colours from the lights. This is a bonus, since the led lights get washed out in HDR/Dolby. It should allow the proper signal to get through to the tv while sending a downscaled signal to the lytmi box.
It arrives tomorrow. I'll post the outcome.
https://www.amazon.com/Splitter-l-b-y-Vision-Atmos-Scaler/dp/B07VP37KMB
I dig it! I have been on a search for a good Xbox 360 controller since I don't like the first party d pad. I was reminded that brook makes a converter to use newer controllers with older hardware. The converter that works with the PS3 is the Brook Wingman XE. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B82M9TG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_PEJ6BJKG4CP701NGFA3Z?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Video using it on a PS3 https://youtu.be/GT69Vpemxjk
If you're still using the original headstrap that came with the Oculus, I highly recommend upgrading. I got this one & it's so much more comfortable & it doesn't slide off mid-workout.
I've tried 3 straps / accessories: the official elite, the Kiwi elite, and this AMVR pressure balance accessory that attaches to the original strap.
I think the Kiwi elite is the best one by a long shot, and have about 50+ hours with it so far. Zero complaints and it works perfectly for me.
The official elite is very similar, with a thinner strap along the top of your head (the kiwi has a nice soft foam strap) - but is noticeably less durable, and lacks the tilting feature found with the Kiwi.
The AMVR accessory is also FANTASTIC for the price. I have about 20+ hours with it so far and love it for different reasons. It's nice and simple, and feels very comfortable during long sessions. Noticeably less pressure on the face than with standard strap. Only negative is that when sharing with others - you'll need to adjust the strap, unlike the Kiwi and official elite's knob tightening functionality.

TLDR:
If you're looking to save a buck - I'd highly recommend the AMVR accessory.
If you have a little more to spend - I'd go with the Kiwi elite any day.
The official elite is lacking IMO and the priciest of the bunch - go figure.
I might be confusing myself quite a bit here but, Is this the same one as the link you send? This is one the Dutch Amazon website:
https://www.amazon.nl/dp/B098JTDPQC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_QYWMWECE71E09YPFSG1J
It doesn't show battery strap as one of the features, so that's why I am confused.
I bought this
I only recommend a carrying case if you’re actually going to carry your quest to other places than your home. I personally am not doing that, ever, so I don’t need it. If you’re going to do it then I highly recommend a carrying case just to be sure your quest won’t break
For what it offers, the Quest 2 is the best value you will find. There's nothing even close in price. The reverb G2 is close but, you need a gaming PC to drive it.
That said, under no circumstances do I recommend the Quest 2 without at least the after market strap. Even if you just went for one of the cheaper Kiwi straps on amazon. The better strap is mandatory for comfort..... To put it into perspective, I have been playing VR for a long time and have easily sunk over 2000hrs in other headsets. From Friday 01/28 to Sunday 01/30, I played Zenith: The Last City for 24hrs.... Yet, within 30 minutes of playing with the Quest 2 stock strap, I have to take a break. It hurts my head and my face.
The extra battery is really going to be dependent on you. Some people only like to use VR for 30min at a time, where as others like to use it for 5hrs a time. If you fall into the first category, the extra battery is a waste. If you fall closer to the second category, the extra battery is a must.
Brook Wingman XE and the controller of your choice:-)

Big hands here so Dual Sense 5 is my preferred option. I have a number DS 3 and find trigger extensions essential (Zedlabs brand do goo ones you can get on eBay or at Amazon) but find them a bit small for my hands. Last DS 3 i bought from CeX w a year ago as you get a warranty and in store hand see it before buying Etc
Personally as long as it's like really supervised and not for too too long there might not be too much of a problem but personally my nieces and nephews have seen me play and want to try but instead I cast it to my tv and I just listen to what they want me to do sometimes lol. But to get back to the main topic fr I love this headset it's a little pricy but so good tbh

I really liked how comfortable the official Elite Strap was, but as with a lot of people mine broke three times before I got frustrated and threw it away. Now I'm using Kiwi's Elite Strap and really like it. Only have had it since September, but haven't had any issues.

I have one of those and it works for HDCP protected 4k, 60Hz, HDR. That's the base model too. The fancier ones advertised lower on the page allow CEC control and other features.
Brook Wingman XE, it gives you full functionality, including rumble, sixaxis, home button.
I just got mine today, it's this one:

Working perfectly so far.
This one gets good reviews. KIWI design Head Strap for Oculus/Meta Quest 2 Accessories Elite Strap for Enhanced Support and Comfort in VR https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098JTDPQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_AKSY5WJ7KHP0VBTPCRRD
I love this one and comes with a battery.

The other Kiwi star is better : https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B098JTDPQC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_ZH12SDSCP1JC19FRKPWX
Also, I have this one without the battery and like it : https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09JNR4Y15/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_TQA7HY5VZEK416YSDGJ7
(Germany) Took me 10s to find this, 50€ + free shipping
This is the splitter I purchased:
OREI HDMI Splitter 1 in 2 Out 4K - 1x2 HDMI Display Duplicate/Mirror - Powered Splitter Full HD 1080P, 4K @ 30Hz (One Input To Two Outputs) - USB Cable Included - 1 Source to 2 Identical Displays https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005HXFARS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_HJEB45KND76GKH1CTERH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I see that there is a "newer" model @60Hz:
OREI [email protected] 1 in 2 Out HDMI Duplicator Splitter - with Scaler 1x2 2 Ports with Full Ultra HD, HDCP 2.2, 4K at 60Hz 4: 4: 4 1080p & 3D Supports EDID Control - UHD-PRO102 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0891L7XDH/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_JVWT1HFPXWHPHYAPAHJJ
I had that problem regularly and it drove me nuts. I tried multiple HDMI cables and TV settings without luck.
Then I read an article like this one: https://www.hdfury.com/how-can-i-fix-the-hdcp-error/
TL;DR of that site: "Short of buying a new television or giving up on your video game project the only way to deal with your HDCP compliance problem is to buy an HDMI splitter that ignores HDCP requests."
THen I ordered this

My problem went away. I am not selling this, buy a cheap splitter (anyone from any site) that ignores HDCP requests.
You plug one HDMI cable from Roku to splitter, and a second one from splitter to TV.
I haven't seen that error since I bought it in early April of 2021.
The quest 2 is notoriously front heavy, have you tried using a different head strap?
Frankly the included strap feels like a facehugger putting pressure on the back of my head, so something that evenly distributes the weight is likely what you need.
Even one of my friends, whom of which I can toss like I'm a quarterback playing the funni ameri sport, he said a new head strap made all the difference.
~~I just want you to enjoy vr is all~~
hey if you like it.....look for
That's a good headset for it from what I hear. There are a lot of accessories for it!
I had a similar situation going with needing to send atmos to a sound bar and a tv that wouldn’t support atmos. I ended up getting a multiplex box that set the Edid for hdmi and scaled the signal. It was a little box on Amazon that I used. That would allow the feed for the Xbox to be split and it would send it to both devices simultaneously. 4K HDMI Splitter 1x2 HDR D-o-l-b-y Vision Atmos Down Scaler - HDMI Scaler 4K 1080P Sync,4K 60Hz 4:4:4 HDMI Splitter 1 in 2 Out HDCP2.2, EDID 4K5.1/4K7.1/ Copy, for Game Xbox PS5 1080p120Hz Roku SP12H2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VP37KMB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BZD8P801G3JPZRAV4DN6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 This is the one I was using. It was pretty decent but would blip on the screen about every hour or 2
I have the Kiwi elite with a power bank attached and really like it. It is super comfy with thick cushioning and lightweight. Some other people like the BoboVR Halo style head-strap (they have one with and without a built-in removable battery).
For PS3 capturing you need specific splitters. Not all of them will work. I have had no issues with this one (and have got others to buy it too with no issues) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004F9LVXC
Some will NOT play nice. But yeah, the splitter I show has a Wall Outlet you need to plug in and then you plug the PS3 into the splitters Input and the splitters output goes to the capture card.
When it comes to the card, I haven't personally used Avermedia stuff but I've heard good things about them, that particular model I have no idea.
Any powered HDMI splitter should work. I know people have used this Orea one with Shadowcast. https://www.amazon.com/OREI-HDMI-Splitter-Out-Duplicate/dp/B005HXFARS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=7J7UEJGUGGV6&keywords=powered+hdmi+splitter&qid=1640476303
I just got a kiwi replacement strap today and it is worlds better than the default strap. Padded cushion in the back and along the top of your head, crank the knob in the back to tighten or loosen.
I just ordered the Kiwi elite strap a few minutes ago. It looks like the Oculus elite strap with extra cushioning and hinges at the part of the arm where the Oculus one breaks. I have a cpl other kiwi accessories and I've been happy with them so far so I'm hoping I'll feel the same about this head-strap.
Another head-strap a lot of people rave about is the BoboVR M2. It's a Halo style head-strap that some prefer. They have a new version with a battery attachment that looks pretty cool.
So the HD-PVR2 has an HDMI input (no component). I picked up a PVR2 not because of HDMI but because my original PVR's recordings started having these weird flickering things and horizontal lines and color distortions. They looked kind of like a video you would have had made in a mall kiosk c. 1990. I actually bought the PVR2 over a year and a half before I upgraded my cable box which now is HDMI only.
To get around the HDCP, I did some investigating and ended up picking up a $14 (it's $23 now) HDMI splitter. I tried it and found it does work for me.
I do a ton of PS3 streaming and have helped others with it too. You need an HDMI Splitter that bypasses the HDCP of the console itself. Here is the one I've bought 2 of (one as a backup) and have recommended to many others with no issue https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004F9LVXC
Just need to keep in mind that cheap splitters are a bit of a "luck of the draw" situation. There is a real chance you could get that and it won't work. Just how it is, however I know of at least 8 of those out there now that worked and 0 that didn't.
Another thing to point out is that sometimes you MAY want to set your PS3 to output at 720p. Most stuff should work at 1080p output but some things can really break with the capture unless it's 720p. So just keep that in mind.

Happy with it so far. I've got hair to my shoulders. Only thing I have issues with is my sweaty neck
Seems quite pricey, do you use one?
