Hello OP. This tank is beautiful, and I agree fish can live in bowls provided they are the right gallonage. I found this study on fish behavior and well being when placed in a bowl vs. a standard rectangular aquarium:
https://silo.tips/download/report-biorb-aquarium-project# (Link takes you to the download page for the PDF, but scrolling down on the page also gives an abstract of the information within it)
The study found that there is no noticeable difference in behavior of fish living in bowls vs. standard aquariums. They also tested for ocular distortion and found that rectangular aquariums produce reflections that can be more unappealing to the human eye. They could not completely test the ocular distortion of fish, but because the fish acted the same in both forms of aquarium it is believed that the distortion has little to no effect on the fish’s wellbeing (fish likely don’t understand the world outside of their tanks anyways). All of this is to say I agree with your stance on bowls, however, I do not agree with the gallon size of your tank. I found this bowl on amazon. It is supposedly over 8 gallons however with how thick the glass is it would really only be 6 1/2. With substrate and decorations it should put you with a solid 5 gallons of swim room for your betta, which is better than what most people on this subreddit recommend. I agree with your stance, however, if you’re going to take a stand on something you should do it properly and leave no room for error.

Appreciate it! Could you possibly comment on the yeast I'm using? Not sure if it's bread or turbo, it's for brewing though
A lot of custom glass on Amazon is really shitty and sucks, make sure if you order online you’re getting Authentic puffco glass. more specifically on Amazon these suck Matrix Glass Attachment for Peak (Mint Green) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XQYKCPD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_PGN1514TE1KWY2S52Q3R they’re just really big and pull really badly

While Nitric is common enough, it's harder to source in higher concentrations in the US.
I'd start with HCl and/or H2SO4 considering it's a trip to the store to get them and they should be in high enough conc. to do the job.
I'd be cautious about using the same bath for different metals as each metal is going to vary in the reactivity series.
I'd further advocating tossing some Ti scrap into the bath for a couple days prior to using it for electropolishing as that will give the metal time to have its ions saturate the soln. Not necessary, but it should make things move smoother and reduce the chance of acid pitting the work.
Lastly link to what *should* be a good reaction vessel for this:

Something like this: CYS EXCEL Large Bubble (H-10.5" W-12, Approx. 4 Gal.) | Multiple Size Choices Fish Glass Round Bowl Terrarium | Globe Flower Vase Centerpiece, Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0068NZVIY/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_7P7EQ0FV6S1Y3YHG4PXE?psc=1 I got a bigger size that they don't even have listed anymore it looks like. I think there are some bigger ones out there but looks like they are out of stock. Just make sure it's a sturdy piece of glass.
I bought it off Amazon several years ago, the original listing is gone but this one has similar dimensions to mine. Be warned, it’s massive lol—you can put this over your head like those old-timey diver helmets.

I’ve had this one for several years and it looks like the original listing is gone, but this one has about the same dimensions. The volume is an estimate, the one I have takes about 1.5 of my 10g bucket to fill.
I got a knock off one that freaking chugs and a nice green one from Amazon that are like $30

There is a supplier of glass bowls online. They used to have a 20”. Currently their largest size is 19” but it’s available.

What are you looking to grow in there?
I used a fishbowl (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0068NZVIY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to create a small terrarium for a nepenthes in my office at work two years ago. I didn't do any crazy layers, just small aquarium river rocks at the bottom, a layer about 1" thick of long strand spaghnum, then about 4" of a nepenthes mix of orchid bark, perlite and spaghnum. It worked well. So well, the nepenthes outgrew the container in about a year. I had to transplant it, but gave me an "reason" to buy another small nepenthes to take it's place :)
I put a lid on mine to keep humidity levels up. At that, it takes maybe a pint of water a month. It's really easy to overwater it, so well draining mix and a place for water to drain down into (river rocks for me) works really well.
I would be concerned about peat/perlite, as it won't provide enough air in that small greenhouse. But, a nepenthes has different needs than a VFT.
Hope that helps!

Thank you, I purchased the bowl from Amazon, ordered the largest size. The glass seems to be nice and thick too which I was worried about.

I am thinking of buying this 12 inch glass planter to do a Walstad nano tank and house 1 shrimp.
Based on my calculations, it would be about 0.5 gallon when filled close to the rim. I'm thinking 1/8" soil, 1/4" sand, 1/2" java moss lawn, some rock and wood decor, and some rotunda in the background and likely will be growing up and out of the water. Do you think this would work? Not sure if the soil is too shallow to support.
