I use a Logitech BRIO attached to a flexible webcam stand.
You don't need something as expensive as a BRIO (I had the cam already for working at home) if you are only using it for Spelltable. Just make sure whatever camera you get is compatible for the mount you have. I really like the flexible arms, but they aren't terribly steady. They are normally fine, but if you already have a desk that moves a little, then it might be an issue.
Another note, you want your play area to be bright, but you don't want the light shining directly down on your table. So I'd avoid cameras with built in lights, as those tend to cause glare on the card sleeves (in my personal experience at least).
You would be looking for headphones with mic monitoring. the logitech pro x can do this for example...I believe it needs software to control it as I use it with my desktop. But there are some out there that offer it with onboard controls. Other gaming headphones use this feature as well like the turtle beack stealths
Don’t trip on the webcam too much. Maybe get a 20-40 dollar one from Amazon. And check out a streaming software like OBS or StreamLabs on YouTube to see which one that you like. Then get a capture card. This is the first one I had but now I have a Elgato HD60 pro. Really they both work fine. The real hard part is sticking to it even when no one is watching for months. I’ve been at this for almost a year and a half and I’m still enjoying it. But I’ve had ups and downs for sure.
Just get the basics and START then worry about the best of the best stuff later. To really stick with it you gotta be able to do it even if it’s going slow. Quality equipment won’t help you enjoy yourself.
Ask me anything anytime. Good luck
I use the Logitech GX Pro:
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Headset-Blue-Technology/dp/B07PDFBJZD
It's a quality headset all around but what makes this headset far superior every other headset I've tried (including $350+ ones from Bose) is the sidetone volume (if you use the USB soundcard that comes with it). In case you don't know what 'sidetone' means, it's when you can hear yourself over the same audio input that you're listening on. I can really hear myself talk, loud, crisp, and clear -- and the sidetone volume is adjustable as well. And the USB soundcard is also programmable. And the cherry on top of it all is that the headset's build quality is top notch, with leather and metal builds. Can you tell I like this headset? :)
There’s tons of cheap USB fingerprint readers that work great with Windows Hello on Amazon.
The cameras are generally speedier. Another I haven’t seen mentioned yet is the Logitech Brio:
I got a Logitech webcam 10 years ago and it’s still going strong.
I don’t know if this is the exact model but it looks very similar: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-C920x-Pro-HD-Webcam/dp/B085TFF7M1
Logitech offers their products on Amazon. Amazon simply acts as the distributor. Here's the c922x and Logitech's official webcam listings on Amazon.
This works well for me Logitech. c270 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Widescreen-Noise-Reducing-Automatic-Correction/dp/B01BGBJ8Y0/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia-wc-p13n1_0
Do you have a webcam? That's what I'm using to record myself so I can watch my hands and identify errors that need to be fixed. I've only been playing for a year, but a few months into playing I bought a $25 logitech webcam from amazon Logitech C270 and it's really helped me improve, and I can recommend this model. I just wanted to have something that would clearly show the strings and not get too blurred, which is the problem I had with using my phone. I also use it for skype calls and whatnot, so I consider it a decent $25 investment until I get better and want "real" recording equipment. If you want to see what the recordings look like on it, you can look at some of my vids:
You can get a webcam on Amazon for about $22: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Desktop-Widescreen-Calling-Recording/dp/B004FHO5Y6/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1494217946&sr=1-5&keywords=webcam | I hope they've gotten back to you at this point.

Amazon Prime Day is coming soon. I can bet this will be on a good sale. This thing goes on sale a lot. I only use it for SC and it worked pretty well, even when FOIP was buggy. So, should work really well with the new version.
Indeed they are. But they’re out of stock for three weeks:

I use this one and it seems to do the job fine:

I bought this one for my Studio, just plugged it in to the USB hub built into my monitor and it worked.
I use this Logitech and it payed itself off immediately. For lightening I just strategically have lamps around the room! I have glasses so I try and avoid light that will reflect harsh against my lenses.
I have a budget webcam that does a better job then many pro streamers webcams.
I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07925CYP5?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
If it's not available, check their other webcams
There are items that don't make it to most retail shelves because the alternatives are so much more expensive/have better mark up. Paying $20 bucks for 5 razors is a scam, cartridge razors in general is a scam.
You can pay $8.94 for a hundred safety razors
Microsoft cameras are good for office and team calls, Logitech makes some good cameras for streaming. The C922x was the go-to a few years ago, but that might be out of date now.
Yeah I have the C920X. Absolutely fantastic webcam when I plug it into my computer, just goes a bit haywire when trying to use on the Xbox. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085TFF7M1/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o08\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yeah I'm assuming it's my walls throwing shit off and it's trying to auto correct. Webcam I use is specifically recommended by Xbox though: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085TFF7M1/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o08\_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PDFBJZD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Bought it 2019 still work like new today.
Plus if your on pc you can download the Logitech software and download a custom sound settings that you can set up or they have user added settings too
They are wired/usb for 90 bucks
10/10 recommend
An external camera can be used for Windows Hello, but not the C920, it doesn't have the hardware for that to work. Windows hello requires IR emitters and sensors that the C920 doesn't have.
You would need something like the Logitech Brio or the Dell Ultrasharp for that.
Doesn't seem like much of a sale. The C920X seems to sit at $80 pretty regularly on amazon.
I'm currently looking at the Beyerdynamic - 'DT 990 PRO' and the Logitech G PRO X. Any thoughts on these?
I hope this is okay? I'm just a guy who wants to help you achieve your dreams. So, if you want to, put this on your amazon wish list, send it back to me, and I'll buy it for you.
Here's my camera.
Throw more money at it if you want to, this thing is cheap and effective and chances are you, like me, aren't pretty enough to need more <3 It has zero features outside of being a camera.
