Sadly I know nothing about brands as they were $130+ AUD (Australian Dollar) and needed to be shipped from the US. this is the link to one I found that had the best reviews, the only reason I haven't picked this one up is price, seeing as it is $237 AUD. But if thrift shops aren't an option you might have to spend more to get a 3rd party one (Side note, if you get a wii guitar like my WOR wiitar, you will have to use 3rd party software to play clone hero, I use WiitarThing)
For anyone who doesn't own a guitar, Heres what I recommend for the best experience. An authentic Wii Guitar Hero controller is probably best, but I went with a 3rd party wii guitar off Amazon for about 60 USD. Then you buy the adapter that Acai recommends from Raphnet for about 26 USD. I have no noticeable latency issues and the guitar has held up in very good - near perfect condition after 2 years of constant use. However, the only downside to using the wii adapter is you can't lift your guitar neck to activate star power, you wpuldd have rebind it to a button.
This is the exact one I bought.

They wont need to say clone hero on them, wii guitars work either with ralphnet or a wiimote and witarthing
Here's a good wii guitar on amazon, only 60 bucks which is a little steep but its free shipping. Here's a good adapter, though it won't work with whammy and tilt without a raphnet adapter but im pretty sure they are sold out until next year or something crazy like that.
I have both the guitar and adapter
Not a respray - it is a special edition RB3 guitar released for PS3/wii. The quick giveaway is the deleted selector switch.
Some people say these work good. They're new, but they are not original for Wii. https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Guitar-Wii-Games-Excluding-Nintendo/dp/B004XDCJ4A/ref=sr\_1\_2?crid=88F4PK4ATA60&keywords=guitar+buddy+guitar+controller&qid=1645980503&sprefix=guitar+buddy+guitar+controller%2Caps%2C90&sr=8-2
There are offbrand guitars for under 100.

Do you think this would be a good wii guitar to buy then mod?
> Personally I think the world tour guitars feel the best but wiitars are basically accepted as the best performance wise.
That sentence makes no sense since Wiitars are a broad category that includes World Tour guitars made for the Wii.
> U can find an off brand but still as good one here. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004XDCJ4A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_NDZNFD71D9ED1E42M3N6
Overpriced garbage. No one should ever consider buying this unless they seriously can't get a guitar by any other means. You can easily find official Wiitars for much cheaper on Ebay.

I am new to Clone Hero and recently bought this one from amazon.
Hopefully i wont have any problems but i am currently just waiting for the Raphnet v3 Adapter to come in from Ebay which takes a lot longer then Amazon.

Hope it all works out! Has anyone else bought that Wiitar?
I'm gonna be honest, I got the knock-off white wii guitar off Amazon and it works great for me. This could be an abnormality but it's been solid so far, though as others have said you need a wiimote or a usb adapter
I bought this guitar along with the raphnet adapter, works like a charm for me
Someone can correct me if i'm wrong but:
There seems to be a market of new 3rd party guitars. The most common ones I see are for the Wii.
This one is made by a company called Buddies
Probably Buddies as well, no information on it
Neither have a Guitar Hero logo anywhere, nor is there the classic "Gibson" white text above the frets.
I'm not entirely sure if I'd recommend them though. Lots of reviews say they're unreliable (or they came already broken).
those don't run on my school laptop, all i can run is glovepie and Clone Hero, i just need a script that works with this third party wii les paul i bought from amazon, i tried Gh3.Pie script, but all it does is tilt for star power, none of the frets or strum bar or start/manual starpower work... help! https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Guitar-Wii-Games-Color-Nintendo/dp/B004QSY97W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519627301&sr=8-1&keywords=guitar+hero+3+les+paul+wii
This guitar isn't brand official but I just got it and it works well compared to GH manufactured ones. You'll also need to purchase a Raphnet cable and and micro USB to USB extender if going to play it on CH. https://www.amazon.com/White-Wii-Guitar-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B088WRZ28S/ref=pd_aw_fbte_1/132-5156422-5052621?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B088WRZ28S&pd_rd_r=21974c81-5219-4faa-aae4-ff605bfb280f&pd_rd_w=HrP8I&pd_rd_wg=Y7K83&...
Clone hero is fairly simple to use, here is frosted’s (worlds best player imo) guide
I use game time buddy guitar on amazon. GL bud. If you have any questions comment back :)
You could try this, seems to get decent reviews and if you have a wii remote then you can connect wirelessly for free. I use a wii guitar wirelessly and it works great, wired guitars aren’t a necessity. I haven’t purchased this guitar so don’t hold me to anything. With clone hero’s rise in popularity and the lack of new official guitars, used guitars are reaching ridiculous prices outside of pawn shops and thrift stores, so if you really can’t find anything then this is probably your best bet.
You wouldn't happen to know where I could get a Wii controller from do you? Input lag on Playstation controllers is a biggy for me so that's definitely a no-go. I was originally going to buy an X360 controller but I haven't found any as of yet. I found a 3rd party version of the Wii Les Paul on Amazon but I'm not sure if its trustworthy or not.
My guitar doesn't work at all, all i can do is tilt, but that's pretty much it, I've tried almost every script for the Les Paul, I'm assuming is probably because mine is a third party Les Paul for the Wii, I got it for $35 new In stock on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Guitar-Wii-Games-Color-Nintendo/dp/B004QSY97W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519627301&sr=8-1&keywords=guitar+hero+3+les+paul+wii
I have this wireless guitar: https://www.amazon.com/Catz-Wii-U-Wireless-Fender-Stratocaster-Guitar/dp/B004BVN39E/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504793415&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=SU0-RB3+96563
I can do $40 shipped for mine.
Thanks I really appreciate you trying to help. It doesn't work though. What's weird is that running the script causes the wiimote to light up (not flash but stay lit up as player 1). It just doesn't do anything in game. What I think is happening is the script connects to the wiimote, but it gets stuck there and cannot recognize the guitar for some reason, even though it seems to work for everyone else... This is the remote: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Guitar-Wii-Games-Excluding-Nintendo/dp/B004XDCJ4A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475696961&sr=8-1&keywords=wii+guitar+controller
