If you're worried you can buy cable clip clamps like these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086V9SKKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_J7BRM9AQN7MVVW28BC9T?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Ive been doing research on getting a detolf after my next move and it looks like people are using these to customize shelf heights. No reason you can't reinforce the shelving with them
You can get adjustable rope hangers from amazon so you can continue to adjust the height. Will be a lot easier than chains. I’ll edit with the link. Right, Billys have 3 wooden sides and an open front (which can have doors optionally.)
Detolfs don't have a built in way to adjust shelf height, but there's a very common DIY trick people use. Using 4 3/16" wire clamps, you just clamp them to the Detolf support bars to create new holders for the shelves.

Thread about it here: https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/ikea-detolf-modification-1-adding-additional-shelves.423114/
It's typically done to add more shelves for smaller scale figures, but works just as well to space out the included shelves. So you wouldn't have to worry about measuring and acquiring more shelves like the OP of that TFW thread.
In a standard Detolf, I guess you'd have to remove 2 of the 3 shelves and use only the remaining one and the base of the cabinet. This should let you fit at least 1 more in there. If you also have some small enough stuff to display you might be able to even have 3 levels of 1/4s and 1 level of smaller scale, but I'm not really familiar with the typical height of them to say for sure. I only collect big heavy comic book 1/4s myself like Sideshow, and those are far too heavy to trust a Detolf glass shelf.
Posing with Peter has a YouTube video where he used these clips that the shelf could sit on. I got them on Amazon:

For most of my lights, I use these to adjust height. Not sure if it will help in your case. This way I don't have to move shelves. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AUP1VTS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_5FN878RB9XWWZ43BSAED
Totally depends on the plant in question, some stay covered for a week some closer to a month. Seedlings are tricky, I always grow them on the shady side as they are a pain to recover when the get burnt.
Edit: added the letters to words I missed on the first go round.
I built this personal removable hangboard setup in my too-small condo a few months ago and it's been working out great for me: http://imgur.com/a/wKC21
I got some of these inexpensive locking pulley systems on Amazon to rig it up.
It doesn't look beautiful, but it's proven to be reliable and safe, so it gets the job done!
I am sorry this happened to you.
You can consider getting 3/16" M5 Wire Rope Clamps and clamp below the shelves to suppor them better.
An example. You can also use this method to increase number of shelves.
I just used some clamps and they work fine, they’re small enough to be less noticeable and they’ve held up the weight so far Here’s the link HEVERP 24PCS 3/16 Inches M4... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZPM7WD7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I use the 18 ga for my 160m inverted L. It's very, very nice wire. Slick insulation, makes it easy to slide through trees, and insulators. Very strong. Took solder well, and wasn't too miserable to strip. To make loops, I used these (although i'm sure the brand was different) https://www.amazon.com/Simplex-Sin-Diameter/dp/B07DFJ3GH1/
These are so, so much better than soldering--especially outdoors in the winter, easy to adjust the loops, easy to undo if you forget/want to change an insulator, etc.
As for durability, the wire took the worst this winter had to offer-- ice, 60mph wind gusts, etc. No problems at all. But then again, my other wire antenna made from 14ga stranded THHN from the Home Depot held up just fine (for it's 10th consecutive winter).
I just bought these ratcheting paracord pulleys to rig up a canopy while camping but they might work for what you’re trying to do. These have snap links on other end and could be pulled tight and quickly released.
I use the rope clamps . They hold up really well and I use a leveler to make them even.

If you scroll down to the pics you can see how the strapped up a filter but if you go looking around at different ones always look at the wheel inside make sure its metal.
Grow Generation has the largest selection I've found locally. Some stuff is overpriced like their rope clip hangers, I bought a 2 pack for $13.99 for a 4 pack and Amazon is $8.99 and they appear to be identical in every way. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018WIOEDA
They are $2.00 per pair on Alibaba when buying 1000 pairs and $1.00 a pair when buying 3000 so $13.99 is a pretty steep markup IMO.
Those thimbles plus a duplex rope clamp like this is how a lot of commercial wire antennas do it.

I use a set of ratchet hangers I got from amazon. Came as a set of 4. There’s one for each corner, set independently. So I just put a level on left/right, then front/back.

Was wondering the same thing, found these on Amazon !
Not sure how many holes are on that reflector but these rope hangers and a combination of zip ties/caribeneers/s-hooks will be an affordable solution for hanging your light. Only $9.99 for a set of 4! https://www.amazon.com/iPower-GLROPEX2-Adjustable-Improved-Resistant/dp/B018WIOEDA
