I like to have multiple masks/bandanas near me to try out depending on how I'm feeling. My favorite is a cooling neck gaiter, it's very soft and reasonably breathable while still fliter-y, and wicks away condensation and sweat and makes me feel less panicked about having something on my face. I ordered this one but there are many similar ones available.
Get a balaclava! It helps keep my ears back. Also try a different approach to putting on your helmet.
You could get a fleece mask/neck gaiter like this.
Oh man, I wonder what was in that sunscreen that would cause you to react so much! I hope you get back to a place where you can start using the products you enjoy again.
I do want to say wearing a SPF face cover is an useful option when sunscreen just is not working for you (been there during my worst flares). I wear this when I do anything outdoorsy in winter time and this when it is summer. It helps to cut down on the amount of sunscreen I need and protects me from all the elements that aggravate rosacea!
Hello! So I used the blue light glasses for a few weeks, then discontinued since I wasn’t seeing a lot of benefit. So I don’t really have any additional thoughts to add about the level of damage, I’m really not sure. As far as skin protectants go, Labmuffin mentioned iron oxides (like those in foundations) and antioxidants were protective. Another idea, if you’re really paranoid about the damage is you could wear a sun mask like this that covers your whole face, just leaving the area around the eyes exposed.
Frankly you sweat like mad anyway in that kind of heat. It does provide some evaporative cooling as it fills with sweat a bit then gets cold when it evaporates away. Mine isn't silk though. It's basically this guy only it wasn't $50. I'd bet one of the Chinese $10 masks would work equally well to evaporate away moisture in heat.
As for suffocating, again, warm weather balaclavas should provide some ability to breath through them. Not all are created equal though and you'll likely find that breathability varies. I also have some 'buff' type sleeves that are fine enough, but breathing through them for even a short period of time causes a lot of moisture inside it which is far from pleasant. I opted for a cheap multi pack though so it could just be an inferior material blend. You can fold those guys up into a balaclava shape too though and ultimately I would guess they could be more versatile.
I'm not that bothered by the cold unless I'm doing something particularly intensive (summer is much worse for me because of the humidity where I'm at), but I like this balaclava to help keep my face warm. A thermos of coffee or tea when I'm out also helps a lot - it both keeps me warm and keeps my airways open.
I have this balaclava and I was really impressed with it's ability to keep my nose and mouth (and the air going in) warm without making me feel like I was suffocating. As an added bonus, it doesn't steam up my glasses, either.
A face mask that use for skiing will help keep the cold off your face for a little bit.

I recommend a good Nike face mask(https://www.amazon.com/NIKE-Combat-Hyperwarm-Hydropull-Black/dp/B007QXSE7A/) with a stocking cap on it (while you're wearing it) and a good thick winter coat. 2 layers of pants are also good for snow shoveling in negative temps. Also do not drive if you do not have to during snow or ice conditions. Do not drive on ice. We don't need accidents.
Keeps you warm during the day and at night when you sleep. Traps the body heat in your head and shoulders. Can't get through a winter without one.

Most masks and hoods I’ve worn are too baggy and move around or get stretched out eventually.
I have a couple pairs of these Under Armour ones for me and my girl. They are tight and never stretch. UA Tactical Hood
If you do winter riding on roads than buy bike lights that will really help you and keep you safe
Covid masks well not surgical ones, I’ve never wore one of those full face ones so im not sure, preferably I’d use one of these

I dont recall exactly, but most likely on Amazon. I actually have 2 of them on in that picture, with the outer one being fleece, and I only break that out for the extreme cold. It's a funny balance, I need to stay warm but I also need to make sure I dont sweat.
Edit to add:
Ergodyne N-Ferno 6823 Winter Balaclava Ski Mask, Wind-Resistant Face Mask, Thermal Fleece, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0091CC1OG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FFmvCbQQH8SDS
That's the mask I usually use, it keeps me covered without making me too hot while being active. I couldn't find the fleece one in my history so maybe it didn't come from Amazon.
I alway use two layers (sometimes 3) on colder situations. The one on my skin is clothing that can easily breathe and let the sweat pass through, and the layer on top is always a windstopper shell. You want a proper windstopper shell on top. Also I wear a windstopper balaclava
Balaclava: N-Ferno. Bought one of these last year and will never go out in freezing weather without one again.
Minus33 does have a balaclava that covers the neck.( Check it on Amazon)
If you want tight covering on your neck, you can consider a neck buff such as one below

I tried a few different things. Some of them ended up fogging my glasses, others maybe were too thick to fit a helmet over.
The one I use all the time is:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012TZ04E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's very thin. I still wear a winter hat over it, then a helmet on top of that.
I bought one of these for when I was running in MN. It worked alright, as long as I had the mesh lined up. Plus if I got tired of it or too hot I could just pull it down around my neck.
Welcome to my world and im happy with it! :D I dont mind it, well maybe the legs when I go work, top is all fine.
Is enough for most days.
