I have the same problem! I’m 5ft 1in. I have a really hard time with work pants as well, but I actually use these I got off amazon in several colors. They look like work pants but feel like yoga pants and are stretchy! I find them flattering and super comfy and they come in “short” length with regular sizes.

Have you thought about buying tummy control pants? They are high waist pants with the in-built shape wear effect without adding an additional layer. You can find one on amazon:Rekucci Women's Secret Figure Pull-On Knit Bootcut Pant w/Tummy Control https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HOZOBYY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_h.7CFbBD5RCMF
I just got these on Amazon for the same reason. It’s a specific style, but if you like it it works well. Not tight around my belly which bloats (thanks endo), not tight on my crotch or legs either which is equally as important and why leggings don’t work for me
YTA. Just because something isn’t explicitly against company policy doesn’t mean it’s work appropriate.
Leggings are not professional. They are for exercising, casual days non work days, or hanging out around the house. Even if your work’s dress code is “casual”, work casual is still dressier than not-at-work casual. You are dressing too casually for work, same as if you were wearing sweat pants or pajama bottoms.
Look into “comfortable yet work appropriate” pants options like yoga dress pants found on Amazon or Betabrand.

Dude. I felt the same way so I got these pants. They pass dress code and are basically leggings. I wear them every day and I took the ribbon off the waist because it poked out weird underneath the apron- but besides that, 10/10 recommend. I got them for your reasons exactly!!!
I always wear stretch dress pants from Amazon so my pants always seem to fit. I'm just lazy and want to wear yoga pants all the time lol I'm 16 weeks 5'3 140lbs right now and the small still fits my big bump (for now).

I'm not sure what size-range you're working with, but I wore these Starfish pants from Lands End for quite a while. They should fit into your range if you catch a (very common) sale. I recommend sticking with the black though, the rest look more sweat-pants-like.
If you want something a little less casual, I love these Rafaella pants. They're not quite as pajama-y, but they're definitely the most comfortable "grown up pants" that I own.
Sadly neither have drawstring waists, but they're very comfy pull-ons. Just don't hold your breath for pockets (the ones on the Rafaella pants are fake >.<).
