I would advise using small hose clamps in stead of zip ties though, Zip ties will break down from UV light. Most auto shops and hardware stores will have them
Ah ok, like this? I was imagining something that required a special tool to crimp the worm onto the band, and I know how expensive specialty crimpers can get. Sweet! Added to cart, thanks!
I think these might work. Honestly should just be any muffler clamp.
4 Pieces Adjustable 304 Stainless Steel Duct Clamps Hose Clamp (8 Inch) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HRSDVSD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1BFVFE732M7AH2A47FAP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You can stop it from sliding by getting some kind of clamp on the rail where it slides. If it’s round tube, maybe something like an adjustable hose clamp will work. Will maintain it being adjustable also.
Get something like this https://www.amazon.com/LOKMAN-Adjustable-Automotive-Mechanical-Application/dp/B076Q7L1VZ There are coming in different lengths and sizes just make sure to get stainless steel not mild so it won't rot
Damn, now you're out 20 cents!
Better up the Shop Supply fee by $5.
I’d replace the handle or borrow from someone else.
But. If you need to go today. Someone mentioned wire wrap and another duct tape. You could also use a couple of screw tight hose/duct collars over the tape if you’ve a hardware store nearby. https://www.amazon.ca/Boao-Pieces-Adjustable-Stainless-Clamps/dp/B07HRSDVSD/ref=asc_df_B07HRSDVSD/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459657934071&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11219080311901783481&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hv...
Either way be very careful of the direction you swing this thing. No one in the vicinity etc. Wear protection etc.
I gave up on finding a decent bike light that was removable and instead got a regular flashlight that the back unscrews to replace the batteries, then used two screw on hose clamps , one around the handlebars and the other looped through the first one and around the flashlight, with a drop of lock-tight on the screws. has worked for years without ever being stolen.
I ended up buying an assortment of worm-drive clamps from Amazon. Yes, there are sizes I won't end up needing, but at least I have a range of them, and 100 stainless clamps was $19. I figured it's probably cheaper and quicker than running to the hardware store or Home Depot to buy them 1 or 2 at a time. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HL4TZWG
They do also sell kits of just a certain size clamp, if that was more useful.
If it’s just a hose clamp, you should be able to go to a home improvement store or even Amazon to find a replacement:
Size #4 (1/4" ~ 5/8") All Stainless Hose Clamp, 1/2" Bandwidth, Pack of 10 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MG88A01/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1xlMCbH9G7N3D
I've had that seat for 9 years. You never know what's going to happen in the city. I'll be prepared next time.
How about hose clamps? Not sure if it will hold the weight, but it is infinitely adjustable
I use these smooth-band worm clamps, no issues with them so far: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002M8Z0QC/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0
1/2" ID silicone tubing from BrewHardware, camlocks from BrewHardware. I use two hoses for most everything, one with both ends using "BL" fittings (a high-flow hose barb and an elbow) and the other using one BL and one "Big C". I use the Big C end on the pump inlet so as to not put an elbow that close to the inlet, and the double BL for the outlet. I have another hose that has one end with a BL and one end clamped around my whirlpool tube for my chiller.
Long story short is 1/2" barbs are rarely actually 1/2" ID, and this matters for pumps. Bobby from BrewHardware is a stickler about this stuff. https://www.brewhardware.com/category_s/1844.htm
try a few of these http://www.amazon.com/Precision-Brand-B20HS-Stainless-Clamp/dp/B007Q4YD38/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1410393896&sr=8-7&keywords=hose+clamp they are 4 to 8 dollars (depending on the size) each but they are reusable so when you get done with them you can unscrew them and use them on a later project
or just go to http://www.amazonsupply.com/ and search for pipe/tube/cylindrical clamp and see what amazon has to offer
