The XM3 are the best wireless headphones on the planet in literally every aspect you are looking for besides gaming id say. But for the possible upcoming XM4, I am not sure what to say towards that. Obviously it’ll be better, but by how much and if that much is worth waiting another several months, especially till possibly AFTER your upcoming flights in August.
As for gaming, if it’s PC or console, get yourself a good HyperX headset since your budget is $450. I really have no idea how the XM3s handle gaming. But I own the XM3s and they are the absolute best you can get with wireless ANC headphones. If you are NEEDING a pair of amazing headphones, get the XN3s now. But if it absolutely isn’t necessary and you can wait; wait for the XM4.
HyperX Headset:
HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset - 7.1 Surround Sound - Memory Foam Ear Pads - Durable Aluminum Frame - Multi Platform Headset - Works with PC, PS4, PS4 PRO, Xbox One, Xbox One S - Red (KHX-HSCP-RD) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_i2SgDb1N01ET5
Same price on amazon if you have prime
All you need is a 3.5mm headset. Almost any 3.5mm headset can be plugged into the controller and should worn. For your budget and situation, I would recommend the Hyperx Cloud Stinger.
Hyperx headsets are very comfortable and this one has volume controls on the ear cups and you swing the mic boom up to mute.
Excellent price. It's been $50 or so since June.
Here's a cleaner link if you wanna send to a friend or something: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Stinger-Comfortable-Noise-Cancellation/dp/B01L2ZRYVE/
This set does go on sale somewhat frequently, but it doesn't often get lower than this price.
Amazon has it for sale to but you won't get ebates.
Same price on Amazon as well: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-HSCP-RD/dp/B00SAYCXWG

I bought this when COVID shutdowns began and I love it - gotten a solid what 15-16 months of use and no issues at all:
HyperX Cloud II - Gaming Headset, 7.1 Surround Sound, Memory Foam Ear Pads, Durable Aluminum Frame, Detachable Microphone, Works with PC, PS4, Xbox One - Red https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_N0TK9RAH80G1AABSHWAS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have the Microsoft one and its pretty fantastic. Bass sounds great for music and they are comfortable for long gaming sessions. Plus, this one on amazon is $48 and comes with a free 3.5mm dataport jack. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IAVDQCK/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_0NBcxb3KAZ1QJ
The same deal is on Amazon for those with Prime.
A lot of people say the Hyper X Cloud II. I just bought it and I’ll get some play time in this week with it.
On sale for $69.99 on Amazon right now

Thanks for your help! Where would I find your video tutorials provided you plan on doing them in the next little while?
Although I'm being brought on board with the team to help with their regional event with hundreds of entrants, I also want to help them get to a place where their regular streams are professional quality as well. Just a little more background info.
The Samson C-QUE8 is a brilliant idea and I'm going to take a look into that even more. The only unfortunate thing is that the group runs a tight budget so headset upgrades are hard to come by, and I don't plan on chipping in much of my own money until I'm being compensated.
I think they're likely going with these headsets https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Stinger-Headset-HX-HSCS-BK-NA/dp/B01L2ZRYVE (sent the Amazon link as specs are easier to find than on HyperX website) not exactly professional quality, but a step in the right direction from what they're using. I know of a few streams that use these and get quite a nice sound out of them so I gave them the seal of approval.
I like the idea of using separate sources for audio, rather than using the broadcast PC as the source. Makes a lot of sense and I'll bring that up to them.
Quick question, when you say PC Audio of the broadcast computer via USB, I'm having a hard time grasping what you mean. You mean connected via USB straight into OBS, correct?
What board are you running everything on? I'm in the market for something for these guys right now but any recommendations would be great. AV company I work for is trying to jam Presonus gear down my throat but I'm not a huge fan of their small scale boards, haven't played with anything larger so I don't really have an opinion on any of their other stuff.
Thanks so much for your help!
HyperX Cloud II are highly recommended by this community. Picked one up for myself a few weeks ago and they are great, very comfortable for long gaming sessions
Here is amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494099812&sr=8-2&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2
I've got Turtle Beach XO, amazing sound quality, removable flexible microphone, free controller adaptor with 2x bass boost settings and volume control. I use it for my phone and PC too.
I got mine on Amazon for £30, they've gone back up to £44, maybe you could find them cheaper elsewhere.

Just to be clear, the only HyperX wireless headphones are the Cloud Flight, nonetheless, as stated in Amazon by a HyperX agent, they just work wired with the Nintendo Switch.
I just bought the HyperX Cloud 2 wired and they are amazing for the price, really comfortable. Amazon has them as a prime deal
I use the Hyper X Cloud II headset. Amazon link Don't worry about the price, it's often on sale on Amazon for maybe 60 bucks.
I've tried a couple of different headsets and they all pinched my ears. The Hyper X is sooo soft, it covers my whole ear and is like a soft cushion around it. I'd recommend it a hundred times, also for its quality all around.
I can't say enough good things about the LucidSound LS35X wireless headset that was recommended to me by someone right here on the sub.

I got these when my Turtle Beach Xbox Stealth 700 headset mic started crapping out.
These work wirelessly with the Xbox as soon as you turn them on, with no setup or dongles or anything. The battery life is great and the audio is superb.
But make sure you set your Xbox audio to Stereo (instead of Windows sound or whatever it is). PUBG only has stereo sound.
the BoomPro won't fit this headphone but there is a similar boom mic on amazon that fits the 2.5mm plug on it.
I also wasn’t planning on buying the packs because they’re so expensive. For a headset I can recommend you Turtle beach ear buds. I have them and they’re really good quality for a good price.
No, sennheiser series 500 uses a 2.5mm cable with a lock mechanism so unless you have an adapter a 3.5mm cable shouldn't work. This is the only alternative with the correct cable that I know of.
I've been using my Hyper X Cloud 2s for years now, love them
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-KHX-HSCP-GM/dp/B00SAYCXWG?th=1
Only note is it came with the weird Plether ear cups on it, and the cloth ones are way more comfortable
Without much information about the use case, the simplest choice would be the sennheiser PC38X since it's the full package. You could also go with a sennheiser HD560S or HD599 with this third party mic and a splitter. Beyers like TYGR 300 R can work with modmic (since they don't have detachable cables), and so does the sennheisers (including the possible HD58X which should be better for casual music listening than the HD560S but worse at gaming).
You will probably get some more help from /r/Gaming_Headsets if you want some people who probably know more about this stuff. But I would personally recommend some Hyper Xclouds they are really good for headsets, and mic is great at not picking up any external noise.
HyperX Cloud II, yo tengo los Cloud Core desde hace 4 años y son macheteros, súper cómodos.
EDIT: Antes los vendían en yoytec, parece que ya no.
Microsoft's Stereo Headset is about $44 on Amazon right now. I highly recommend it.
I have a pair of Hyper X Cloud 1st gen headset I love. After watching Linus Tech Tips review of them I bought them. The 2nd Gen is currently on Amazon for $90 and I think the first gen which I have are a bit cheaper.
Removable mic, carrying bag, extension cord, splitter, USB adapter thing I think, extra ear pads, great box. Very worth the money IMHO.
I use them almost everyday for ateast 4 hours and they are by far the comfiest I've used personally. Never have sweaty ears, head never hurts, etc.
The LucidSound units can all be pre-ordered on Amazon. Not sure about other websites yet.
Looks like it's $69.99 on Amazon

Cloud 2s are actually $95 on Amazon - highly recommend them!
The HyperX Cloud Stinger is also a good set at a good price. This Amazon page has the specs and even a comparison of the other HyperX models > Amazon page
And as for volume/chat control I would recommend this over any in line or on headset adjustment anyway, even if you already have a 3.5mm compatible controller > Microsoft Chat Adapter
Apparently they are out of stock? I bet nearby stores will still have them tho.
