I fucking hate sales, yet doing startups it's part of the business.
I read this book: 10 Steps to Sales Success and it literally had me running out the door to sell my stuff.
It's short, to the point and covers what you really need to do to be successful. It also references other great books on cold calling, organizing your life, etc.
Read that (took me 2 days while I was on vacation) and see if it helps you answer these questions.
The biggest flaw I see in sales people is, they don't take the time to really understand what they're selling. Since I'm the software engineer (selling software) it's pretty easy for me.
It sounds like you could work in pharmacy sales, or anything medical. There's a large call for that. Look into long term care sales as well (nursing homes, assisted living, etc.).
