Aight I'mah sound like a dick but my buddy just bought this:
Used I can get the kit for $490. Same kit at bestbuy right now for $590.
Yours doesn't come with the 55-200 AND it's scratched yet you're about the same price as amazon and only $100 less than bestbuy.
The sale on amazon has been going on for >20 days so its not going anywhere for a while.
What price are you thinking now that I threw all that in your face? d:
I know as a hobby, photography can get very expensive. Because I just want to take good pictures of normal things (trips, my cat that I love with all my soul), I was planning to spend ~200 dls. I looked up the nikon DX camera (~500dls) and I think I will get it used somewhere :P
hnmm, I can't find it anymore; Used to be on Amazon under the Black Friday Countdown Sale.
Here's the 595 Version.
What you're probably looking for is an entry-level DSLR with basic general-purpose lenses. I'd recommend that you look at the wiki and read it all the way through as I found it to be extremely helpful. Then you can decide what to get.
If you want my recommendation, check out the Nikon D3300. This is the previous generation of Nikon's entry-level DSLR, so it's very cost-effective. You'll also need lenses, and these can get tricky and expensive depending on what you plan to photograph. The wiki says to avoid kits, and rightly so, but this bundle is actually really good. It comes with two great lenses: one for wide landscape shots and the other for telephoto and zooming in on subjects. I've been very happy with it. You'll also find tons of guides and information on this camera, since it's been out for a few years. If you want an entry-level DSLR, this seems like the most capability and quality for the price point and I'd recommend it over entry-level DSLRs from Canon or Sony.
