Background: Got the bin, and saw 180mbs to 200~mbs down and about 15mbs up on regular. Ping was gaming was from 40-70ms, but so inconsistent that the jitter caused lots of frustration. This week i started school and i could not zoom. I can zoom in,but if i tried video or talkign it bugged out.
The placement was limited, and MAYBE i would get the same speeds if i was able to move my trashcan around but i live in apartment and im limited. So i bought an antenna and at first saw no difference and i still see no difference in the advance network stuff, but after 30 mins of moving it around i can now say that i got 175mbs upgrade andddd triple my upload speed. Im in alhambra fyi, and yes i spent $80 more , but after next month ill break even and be back as saving money!

I had Similar issue but ping was less just very inconsistent. I bought a cheap antenna from Amazon and my ping decrease by 10ms, speed went from 200 to 300mbs and my upload tripled. My ping still 40-70ms buttt now it's very consistent and i can play Apex legends sweaty AF. Here's the link for the one i used, a lot of people arguing weather the band is supported and MIMO blah blah blah. It works for me and the speeds speak for themselves. If it doesn't work for you, you can always return it. I didn't see any difference in the numbers in advance signal but it worked.

Tv antennas only got a little overlap of frequencies with T-Mobile 4g frequencies (which T-Mobile is using for 5g) so technically you can maybe but with very narrow possible bands. In reality it’s a bad idea. I personally picked this one because it looked identical to the proxicast one and a little cheaper with cables included. You probably can pick the proxicast one but cables seem to be expensive too so add 30$ more.

This one is very directional. I did a lot of trial and error to find out which direction gives me best results. There are several towers around my house.

The first one I got was on sale for 175$ on Thanksgiving.
The second one I got from an ebay seller for $60 but they’re sold on Amazon too.

They look almost the same. The waveform looks to be better built but it’s more expensive. I recommend you pay for the antenna panel only. Cables and mounting bracket can be found cheaper online.

Antennas are a bit of black magic to me and didn't want to spend a ton of $$$ to try it out so I ordered/returned this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CRN6HYY
I think this one is good, depending on how you want to mount it. There are mag mounts also.

That is an omni directional antenna. It could help if you get it positioned right and depending on the device you pair it with (hotspot or router). I would recommend the Mobile Internet Resource Center Youtube channel. They have a ton of videos that can walk you through all of this. For me, getting a high gain directional antenna was key to getting a good signal. My nearest cell tower was so far away that an omni directional antenna was not strong enough to connect.
