amazon, frogbite Here is the link to the seller. I didn’t have to do anything other that rinse them off the roots had not grown very long and it was easy to see there where no hitchhikers on the plants. So I rinsed them and tossed them in
I am looking for some too, and was thinking of ordering this off of Amazon if you're interested as well: https://www.amazon.com/Frogbit-Limnobium-Laevigatum-Aquarium-Floating/dp/B018YG764Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478920132&sr=8-1&keywords=Amazon+Frogbit
Part Two, Plants
Plants are wonderful for both the health of your betta, and the look of the tank. They remove harmful wastes, provide shelter, and look great.
Dwarf Hair Grass. This is a great carpeting plant. I got back into from a reddit comment two days ago, and it has already started new growths (with co2 and fertilizers) It looks great, and saves you the trouble of having to vacuum gravel (Betta poop will be used by the plants instead of building up.
Amazon Sword. This plant is perfect for beginners. It can grow massive root systems, which are great for processing waste. You can't kill these unless you actively try, they are very hardy. A great piece for the back of a tank.
Java Fern. Another great beginner plant, but with a twist! This plant can't be planted. It's roots will rot if planted, so it needs to be glued or wedged into decorations (or left to float). This one is great if you decide to put in driftwood.
Java Moss. Another hardy plant. Much like Java Fern, this one will have to be super glued down. (It doesn't grow roots).
Frog Bit. Floater plants are great. They are easy to care for (just put them in water), provide comfort and safety for fish, and suck out nitrites better than most other plants. I keep them in all my tanks.
Plants can't just be put into tanks and expected to do well, they need to be cared for. This includes things like fertilizers, co2 (no, I don't expect a beginner to run co2), and lights
Lights and Timers. Lights are self explanatory. Timers are useful for keeping a consistent day/night cycle going on your tanks. I recommend 7 or 8 hours every day as a minimum to keep algae down.
Fluval Stratum. This is the good shit for plants. I wouldn't dare to grow plants in anything else (half sarcasm). It lowers PH to a perfect level for bettas, it provides lots of nutrients, and it has lots of gaps to prevent toxic gas buildup (uncommon, but can happen with sand). Just poke small holes in the bottom with a needle (creates a drain), pour water in the top to rinse, and pour it in the tank. Don't disturb the substrate too much, it releases a dust cloud if you do. The betta may have to stay in a temporary container for a day while the dust settles. 4.4 pound is good for >10 gallon tanks, while the 8.8 is perfect for 10 gallons.
Fertilizer. Makes plants grow better. Pretty simple usage, just one pump per 10 gallons.
Sorry if I overwhelmed you with too much info at once, or if I recommended too expensive materials. If I could use Aquarium Co-op as a link, I did. I trust the company, and they even have a YT channel.
Hope you gained at least one bit of info from this, anything to make a betta happier!
Looking forward to seeing you over in r/rescuefish
I started keeping fish when I was 14 too. Great to see someone new coming into the hobby that actually know what they're doing! I do have some concerns with the stocking of this tank, as well as its design:
Stocking:
Tank:
You don't have to follow any of my advice, and you've obviously done lots of research, but I hope that I can help you. The tank looks great, but it just needs filled out more in the center and surface.
err I think Rams prefer soft, more acidic water but most Rams you find today are bred in captivity so as long as the water is clean and parameters consistent you should be OK. https://aquaticarts.com/products/german-gold-ram-dwarf-cichlid

Plants provide tremendous benefit to an aquarium and make things easier for you in the long run! Plants soak up excess nutrients and filter, provide shelter and keep your water clean.

My recommendation for easy, high growing and easy to care plants are:
