I bought this and seasoned it like this.
I put it straight on my gas burner without the ring with the burner as high as it will go. It isn't as hot as it should be, but it's hot enough for what I cook.
If it needs to be scrubbed, I use an orange chore boy on it. If it feels greasy or otherwise dirty, I use a little dish soap and water. Rinse really well, put on a burner to dry. I've been using it every week or two for about a year now and it's holding up great. It's got a nice coating of seasoning and cooks food pretty great.
