Thank you very much! Unfortunately they don't deliver the knives or rice cooker to the UK, but I have ordered a UK alternative instead! I bought this one here!
Seriously, get a cheap one and you'll be fine. As you're a student with a limited budget rice cookers are something you can afford to save on and if you can be confident in buying a cheap model in Tesco or the like. The technology behind rice cookers is very simple and hard to mess up.
A quick look on Amazon throws up this Russell Hobbs model for under 20 quid. It's larger than the smaller models but gives you the option if larger one-pot meals.
You can get one for like 20 pound on amazon UK.
The one I talked about is exactly the same, just with a different name on it.
As I said, can't complain yet, always perfect rice. I wash my rice, let it sit for 10-30 minutes to absorb some of the leftover water, put the rice into the rice cooker, put twice as much water (1 cup rice = 2 cups water) in the rice cooker, put lid on, turn on, wait until ready.
I have this one. It's a pretty simple one and the reviews aren't stellar, some experience the same issues, but then again there are many who don't seem to have a problem.
I use this one. I never tried oil spray. At least something new I can try, thanks :)
This one. As I said in another comment, reviews aren't the best, but enough people seem to have no issues.
Mostly I use the amount of water suggested on the packaging. Most of the times 2-2.5 cups of water per 1 cup of rice.
