Thanks! Here’s the antennas I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076SGTMFS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I haven’t done a lot of testing with them but my connection doesn’t seem to have changed from the shark fin I had attached before with this MSI motherboard
This is a really portable setup, and looks awesome.
Have you considered shorter wifi antenna, like these? Would cut down on a cable, since you can just leave it plugged in the back. It's what I use with my sff PC. https://www.amazon.com/2-4GHz-Wireless-Module-Antenna-Omnidirectional/dp/B076SGTMFS/
Using these from Amazon for the antennas. Also I've been running a 250gb NVMe on the front for OS and a 1tb intel one on the back for game storage - honestly had no idea about the downclock but haven't had any issues thus far! Given the 3080 seems to be running about the same temps as when I had the 2060S in here, I don't forsee any issues either
Technically speaking, this is what a low profile antenna looks like. The antenna you linked are much larger than what comes with your motherboard.
You should get better signal penetration with a larger antenna. Your Wi-Fi module has the spacing to allow for antenna like that, but just be aware that they may interfere with your USB ports.
Awesome build and details on your site. Looks like those dual band antenna are out of stock now. Would these WiFi Antenna work similar with right angle adapters?
We have the same motherboard. I just bought WiFi nubs instead. I’m pretty confident they’ll get better reception. What you made looks cool, but it isn’t practical.

Went for these, haven’t been able to test them yet though, only going to use them for Bluetooth on an MSI MEG Z490I Unify though. User reviews on Amazon seemed ok. They are really small. Same boat as a few others here it seems, waiting on the MK3 cases to be available.
Hey thanks very much! Appreciate the kind words.
The antennas are these. They are just 2.4ghz but I was still able to get the 300 down and 10 up I pay for. I was surprised that they actually work better than the shark fin still antenna that came with my mobo. I got some 90 degrees adapters for them too but havent felt the need to use them.
These? They're fine for BT and if you're in the same room as the router/AP or the walls don't cause much interference but they're severely limiting compared to the stock antennas and you won't get nearly the same speeds. 5GHz may or may not work depending on how close you are to the source.
These are a little better in reception, but larger and are commonly paired with a right angle adapter so they don't stick out as far as they're about 4cm long when installed due to the threads and all.
I've personally used both of the above, with the second being the better choice if wifi reception matters (any of these are fine for just BT). I've also done some internal antenna setups as well, with cases that have a place to attach them where they won't be blocked by metal of the case (so like under a front panel that is plastic or to the top of an acrylic case). For that you have to remove the cover off the wifi card and swap the antennas directly on the card and route them out into the case, since they're laptop antennas that connect directly to the wifi card not the external RP-SMA connectors on the IO. For that you're looking for an MHF4 PCB antenna, like this, for example.. There are various styles and lengths but MHF4 is the connector on the card, so that's the important part.
I got mine on Amazon, this is the specific set
They are just straight shorty antenna from amazon, and then I bought 90 degree adapters for them!

These! I have fiber + an ideal WiFi setup so I don't notice a huge difference given that they're only 2.4GHz.
I've used a couple sets of these, not seeing any difference from the stock antennas. Fine for 2.5 and 5ghz but I have yet to try a range further than 15-17ft.
Grabbed them off amazon here. Hated that big shark's fin antenna
Aha! Yes those are a couple of mini wifi antenna I snagged off Amazon. I believe these were what I used.
Says 2.4 but I have no problem with 5ghz.
I bought them off Amazon. The antenna are:
onelinkmore FPV Antenna 2.4GHz Wireless Module Omni Directional Thumb Antenna mmdvm 3cm Long Wireless Network Router Antenna RP SMA Male TX RX Mini RHCP Racing Drone Antenna for Multicopter Pack of 2
And the 90 degree adapters are:
BOOBRIE 90 Degree Reverse Polarity SMA Coax Adapter RP SMA Male (Hole) to RP SMA Female (Pin) Right Angle Connector RP-SMA to RP-SMA Adapter for Audio FPV Drone Antennas Radio Video Mobile Pack of 2
I’m not sure what kind of range they have, but I haven’t had any problems with them. I mainly didn’t want the big shark fin!

Didn't do a whole lot of research so there's probably better ones out there, but they seem to do a good enough job for most things
I am using these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076SGTMFS
I haven't had any performance problems but I just use the onboard chip for bluetooth stuff most of the time. I have had to fail over to my hotspot once or twice when my home cable went out and it worked fine for that also.
I would say they are OK. It cuts my Bluetooth distance in half, wifi signal seems fine but I've been always close to a router. Link
Antennas aren't too bad. If the concern is that they're big and bulky then you can get something like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076SGTMFS.
I've used these for 2 separate PCs and they work great.
I'm using these paired with these. They are way shorter. Work fine on 5gz.

I'd return and get those.
Looks like you also have a strix. https://i.imgur.com/CcOrLiQ.jpg
I also have those antennas, they’re $7 off Amazon with another $5 for the right angle adapter.
Theses have worked great for both things and 5ghz. I also have them on right angles but you don't really need to. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076SGTMFS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HnyIFbA1QK8QZ

That link does work. Also I'm pretty sure these are the same but I didn't try mine yet as waiting on the case. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076SGTMFS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_lZbuFbC7EVE76 edit: oh ali's are right angle by themselves that is different.

Yeah they do! I've got these stubby antennae in my amazon cart but I think I've spent enough money for now....
