I also have a ‘21 fxlrs and I bought a headlight bucket, H4 extension, and this headlight. It’s damn good too. The oem day maker is trash.
I use this 12v headlight:

It's so bright I've had people yell at me for it. It lights up over a hundred feet clearly, and makes me visible to people from hundreds of feet away. One thing I noticed between this light and cheaper ones is this has thick heat sinks, and gets quite warm. More heat means more power so I'd hope this light would be bright enough for you. It's also DPT rated so it's really is the lumens it claims.
I bought this one for my FXDLS. It works great and was relatively inexpensive.

Here is the one I bought, however you will need either a new halo bracket or a new bucket. The light itself will not fit in the oem ring and will either need some ingenuity or luck. I can link the headlight housing kit too if needed. It allows to delete the oem bucket and looks decent, altogether I spent about $100 on the headlight upgrade/fix.
It's a 4000 lumen light. If you really want bright, spend a couple extra bucks and get a 5000 lumen bulb! https://www.amazon.com/Brightest-Approved-Projection-Headlight-Motorcycles/dp/B071GCDC33/ref=sr_1_7?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1518703389&sr=1-7&keywords=led+headlight+5-3%2F4%22

That’s incredibly steep considering the warranty’s only valid for the first buyer, and a brand-new R costs just $195.00 more.
Kanebilt’s headlights cost $36-
I actually ordered this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071GCDC33?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
The way that I mounted it was by drilling a hole on each side through one of the heat fins. Used a 1/8" bolt. Drilled through the stock bracket and snugged it together. I also ordered a kit very

I also ordered kit from JP cycles to fill the gap around the headlight and it looks oem almost as nice as the motodemic but it was $50 instead of $600.

Let me message you some pics.

I followed this guide and this video, and slightly changed up the wiring with a more versatile switch to make the day time running lights, low, and high beams all work on this brighter headlight than what the guide links.
