Here's an amazon example I just found. I searched for Bluetooth handheld keyboards and there are many different ones
As far as I can tell, that is not a Bluetooth keyboard and requires that you plug in a usb dongle. Hard to do on a phone. Which sucks because I've got one of these!
I found (but have not used, yet) this one. It's as close as I could get when I was looking.
Get something like this or one of those folding keyboard things and you'll be mint
Its the best. You'll have to make some adjustments depending on your usage, such as USB extension cables for wired devices. I still use mouse and keyboard primarily, so a table on the right hand side of the recliner for it. Keyboard on the lap or a laptop stand mounted to that table to hold & swivel the keyboard. This wireless keyboard/touchpad is good for non-gaming tasks, too: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T13GLY3?psc=1
I've got a mini PC running inside one of my A1U cabinets. And another connected to my TV that's running MAME plus some other console emulators. I have both of them set up to automatically boot right into Windows (11), no login password required, then my front end (Big Box) is automatically started up. A password has to exist (on a local account), but you can make Windows bypass it. I forget exactly how to set it up, but it was something I googled.
Only caveat to that is if I connect to one of the mini PCs from my desktop via Remote Desktop to do some MAME management or whatever, then the next time I try and directly access the mini PC (i.e., say I want to play a game on the A1U cabinet), then I'm presented with Windows' lock screen and have to enter the password to get past it. I keep a little wireless keyboard/trackpad gizmo (this one) for such situations, and it's also handy for other times when I want to get into Windows for something without bothering with remote desktop.
You can also disable Windows Update; there's a couple different ways. Just a matter of either disabling a Windows service, or changing a Group Policy setting, IIRC.
I have a mini wireless keyboard that does RF with a USB dongle and bluetooth. I have the dongle in my PC and I connected it to the TV via BT. I can toggle between the two to control either or.

So, it was a Bluetooth device I had connected, but it’s at my house and I have no access to it. I went to device settings and I can’t find a way for it to be gone. It was this ((Upgrade) Rii i4 Mini Bluetooth... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). I used a anker usb-c hub to connect it
thanks for the link. seeing that jogged my memory and I guess I do remember seeing that one as a good option to potentially buy. however when I came across it back then and even now, logged in on US amazon, I see an error in red "This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location." looking at other models I get the same error.
I'm not sure what's going on but that's part of why I didn't end up with a rii, I couldn't find one that was ship-able to me and I felt like I couldn't trust the product descriptions. /shrug/
here's the US amazon link that came up when I searched for 'rii'. https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Smartphones-Mac-Black/dp/B07T13GLY3/
Hey, I know this is a month old, I didn't want to DM you like a creeper.
I'm using Lineage 19 (Android 12) on a Pi4b. My game controller (2.4GHz wireless USB dongle) is a Retro-Bit Legacy 16 that I use with RetroPie and Batocera without any problems, but it does not navigate the Lineage UI.
What does work is an Rii wireless keyboard (another 2.4GHz USB dongle) that has a built-in touchpad and sort of a D-pad that function as keyboard arrow keys. The touchpad moves a mouse pointer, the arrow keys moves between icons like a FireStick remote would.
This is the one I have https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3/
It's a dual wireless (BT & RF) keyboard, keys are backlit, has a scroll wheel, and the Home and Back buttons function in Android. I think any USB keyboard with arrow keys will work, not all have the Home or Back. I hope I'm not too late with this info, hope this helps.
This is what I use with my ltek pad
(Upgrade) Rii i4 Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad, Blacklit Portable Wireless Keyboard with 2.4G USB Dongle for Smartphones, PC, Tablet, Laptop TV Box iOS Android Windows Mac.Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_JCV1J3XSVXTZ101P0HT6
https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Smartphones-Mac-Black/dp/B07T13GLY3/
this is pretty bad, but cheap.
I have one that must be worse than this one because I paid less than $8 for it... and I gave one to my brother-in-law... if you need a wireless keyboard for something really simple... they will do. if you intend to use it a lot... buy something better.
I use the Rii 4 mini: https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Smartphones-Mac-Black/dp/B07T13GLY3/
It's small, battery lasts a long time, and it has keyboard, mouse, and basic game input so I can get around pretty much any interface. If you type really fast on it it does miss keystrokes sometimes, but even pacing myself I'm about 10x faster than the virtual keyboard. For just doing things in desktop mode or browsing around it work perfectly for me. If I wanted to actually type something up or code I'd bring my mechanical keyboard and a dock though.
Has a TouchPad, back-lit, scroll wheel. I like it.
(Upgrade) Rii i4 Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad, Blacklit Portable Wireless Keyboard with 2.4G USB Dongle for Smartphones, PC, Tablet, Laptop TV Box iOS Android Windows Mac.Black
If your Firestick allows for multiple remote I highly recommend this one. I love it.

As an owner of an LTEK pad, I use a mini Bluetooth controller to navagate StepMania. Works very well

For web browsing on the fire stick I use a sideloaded Kiwi Browser with uBlock Origin and Poper Blocker as extensions. Along with a VPN it's pretty decent at filtering pretty much anything. The caveat is you will need a way to enable a mouse on screen to use this type of browser since it's not made for TVs. I use this Rii i4 BT version
I like it more than the Logitech keyboards, gyroscopic remotes, a media server remotes that I've tried in the past. I returned it to Amazon at one point because I had a few other touchpads and keyboards in the pipeline but after weeks I missed it so much I bought it back. That damn little mouse wheel (the little red thing on the right) is so convenient.
For youtube, obviously a modded ad-free youtube like Smart Youtube, Youtube Vanced, or Smarttubenext is best just to get the ads out of the way. I believe there are other open source projects out there as well.
All you need

Don't the consoles support kb/m by now? I play 4X and Grand Strategy games semi regularly in the living room on the TV by simply using a mini kb with trackpad like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Smartphones-Mac-Black/dp/B07T13GLY3
> Any way to access volume controls without touching volume keys?
Some ideas
Get something like this: Amazon.com: (2019 Upgrade) Rii i4 Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad, Blacklit Portable Wireless Keyboard with 2.4G USB Dongle for Smartphones, PC, Tablet, Laptop TV Box iOS Android Windows Mac.Black: Computers & Accessories. No bigger than a controller and while it doesn't fix the UI it's effective and simple.
this is the way..
has bluetooth and usb. I originally used bluetooth, but can't wake the shield without the original remote. usb, press any button it wakes up.
The Rii keyboards are great if you just need to do the occasional keyboard input and mouse input for the computer cores. It combines both into a very small device. I use the Rii 4, but there’s a bunch of variants:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3
If you’re actually going to use the computer cores as computers, obviously get your favorite keyboard and mouse to go with it. Mechanical keyboard feel correct for the era.
I have my original 2019 Pro remote which I like very much but this one is awesome. Use the app Button Mapper and go to town. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_vhcYFbSEXPYW1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This works very well for the shield, very good quality.
Honestly, the Rii i4 is fantastic for the Deck.
This is the keyboard i have been using with my steam deck that was recommended in a youtube vid i watched. this might help. you could always use discord on a phone alongside gaming to do voicechats and stuff
I've got Launchbox/Bigbox in mine, too. I use one of these with it...
Most of the population uses touch screens every day. I also have this which isn't any easier. So do you travel with a full size mech keyboard everywhere with your phone?
Never leave home without the trusty handy dandy! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details
I'd recommend something like this:
If you have a free USB port and are open to using it, I've been using this one for 1.5 yrs with no issues.
This is the one I got from work with the trigger buttons as mouse buttons. Is even Bluetooth compatible!
For when you need to log into launchers and navigate the desktop from time to time
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3/
it's not exactly remote controlled-shaped but it works nicely with the firestick.
I use the Surface Pro 7 for Toon Boom Harmony 21, and a little remote keyboard, and I love it, 16 GB of RAM and I think you'll be thrilled, if you can work on a small screen!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is definitely better than anything you’d get with gyro mouse control.
(2019 Upgrade) Rii i4 Mini... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Unless you're going to be gaming, this has been fine. https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Smartphones-Mac-Black/dp/B07T13GLY3/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=Rii&qid=1636800163&sr=8-3
I use this for my htpc and tv. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T13GLY3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_6TPZHM41SYPVT6KXR9TB
I know it defies the idea of carrying a tiny phone, but know that with any Android device you can connect it with a Bluetooth keyboard or Bluetooth kb+mouse combo like the Rii i4 mini keyboard
I am personally more of a frequent user of Logitech multi-device keyboards (the now OOP K810) for both my Windows tablets and Android phones. I like how easy it is to switch devices with those.
I use one of these and it works great on my Shield for sign in and other keyboard intensive applications.

Have you tried something like this?
Works great on the Shield Pro & Mi Box.
You can get an Amazon Fire Stick set up for this, I recommend the 4k version that's normally $50 but is on sale frequently for $25. It will run on the slower versions, but it's obviously smoother on the device that has a bit more power to it.
From here, you can run TinyCam which is available in the Fire app store, set up the RTSP streams for each camera, and you can view the live feeds.
Since Fire Stick is running on Android, you guessed it, you can sideload Android applications on it, including ivms 4500 and hik-connect. Do not bother using ivms 4500, it's buggier than hik-connect for this purpose, I already did the research and found other people saying this and I tried it myself and it crashed on me. Hik-connect app works better.
Now it's important to note, it's not designed for this interface at all, and it won't really be usable with the standard Fire TV remote. You can get by with a Bluetooth mouse in most scenarios, but typing with the on-screen keyboard can get problematic because the on-screen keyboard doesn't work in some cases. So you have to have a way to load up your configuration without the on-screen keyboard, which means you need a bluetooth keyboard or you have to do some other trickery. Get a device like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T13GLY3 and that will work just fine for these purposes. It has to have bluetooth unless you get a dongle that allows you to plug in a USB dongle to the Fire Stick while also providing power to the Fire Stick. Now from this app you can basically do most things as you would in the app on your phone, albeit with a more clunky control method. This method is really only useful if you're needing access to the remote playback of the recorded footage on the NVR, as you can do that with this app, otherwise I'd recommend TinyCam.
The TinyCam app is superior in almost every way and is designed to work with the Fire Stick remote, so you don't need any additional remotes to get it to work. The main drawback to the TinyCam app is that it can't do playback from an NVR.
If you type, or use the browser, a lot get yourself one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T13GLY3/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
