I'm starting my journey into home-made coffee and just bought a press. Now I need a grinder.
As a total noob, I'm not looking to break the bank for one. Is there anything objectively bad about these grinders that are everywhere on Amazon?
Local coffee roasters/shops of decent quality will grind for you (if you but their beans which can be good if the people know whats up). Ot by a Manuel grinder like this [link] for $10 on ebay or amazon, the results are great for the price I mean its no encore but its better than that chunky cookie cake you have. Even a cheap conical burr will be better than an expensive electric blade.
Now this is interesting, my grinder looks like a knock off porlex:
i don't know what is going on then for it to be taking this long. I make mine to about the same consistency as sand.
