I got one from Amazon about a year ago for my mattress at home. It's memory foam and Twin XL and was only about $60.
They don't say they're waterproof, I wouldn't waterproof yours as the chemicals would dehydrate the leather. Because water is polar and oil is non-polar, whenever you oil (condition - upkeep) your boots, it essentially kinda waterproofs the leather. I've stepped in many puddles and have never had wet socks.
Definitely get a mattress topper. Here's a link to the one I bought, I would pay $200 for how comfortable it is.
