To add to your safety comment: Non-slip surfaces significantly reduce injuries from jumping or falling! They help keep bunny's feet from "kicking out" when they jump or splaying out under them when they land.
That's non-slip on the floor AND non-slip on surfaces they're jumping off of. For example I have non-slip stickers on my bedside table because Truffles likes to jump off it onto the floor.
Floor that's non-slip for running might not be non-slip enough for jumping. My bun started on blankets but they slid right across the floor when she jumped up or down from the bed or side table (1.5 - 2.5ft). And she's only 2lbs!
Non-slip tape (sorry for formatting). Choose "shower" or "light-duty" options - the others might irritate their feet. NOTE: this tape is probably not good for bunnies & breeds prone to sore hocks.
Thanks for the awesome review! They look awesome despite the flaws.
I've bought four pairs of these rockstuds from this exact shop. I think they do vary the slightest in quality, like the loose threads and pointed toe defect - but out of my four, I haven't gotten a bad apple yet. I haven't gotten any bad toe points, so I'm sorry yours isn't great. :( some of my pairs have the slightest glue residue but for the most part they're all really unnoticeable. The lining of the sole is orange/brown, and that's on par with the pairs I have - I'd suggest maybe acrylic polish or nail polish (or even a sharpie) to cover if you're really self conscious?
The sole is definitely plastic, so I recommend putting some anti-slip traction on there. I use traction tape (the invisible ones you put in your shower or stairs )
In my honest opinion I think maybe stretching out the toe area might be more beneficial than sizing up, especially two sizes. I usually wear 38 for most taobao shoes and 37 for heels/loafers, and I got a 37 in these guys. On two pairs, I felt like the back straps that hold your heels kept slipping off. Even when I adjusted the buckle to be tighter, it didn't feel as secure as I wanted. However I just received another pair yesterday () and that one had the perfect back strap comfort and felt tight and just right.
But that might just be my own experience, to each their own :) I haven't tried stretching the toe area yet but I'll try tonight with leather stretcher spray and confirm if they're leather or not.
This.
