u/theclassickegstand is correct I use glass weights. This isn't the same brand I use but it's the same style. Amazon Link
That's certainly a common way of doing it, but with this one I have a little glass weight in there. It's not the cheapest option for most people, but with my space and availability constraints, it was a good choice for me.
Search 'fermentation weight' on amazon & there are lots of options. I like the glass ones personally

I just recently got some of these on Amazon, they work perfect. They are like $10 right now for four, can't beat it.
Most glass or ceramic weights will work great. I use these because they have a little handle that makes them easy to remove.
This, and it looks like not all peppers are submerged.
Gotta get some glass fermentation weights to keep them under the liquid.

I don't really know anything about fermenting personally, but I've read around here that people use weights a lot to avoid this issue. Something like this:

If you give it another try in the future, I've read of people using fermentation weights to keep everything under the surface of the liquid.
Or you can make your own, or use other hacks.
Not sure how advisable it would be to use random rocks, though.
These from Amazon:

Thank you! Think these are any good?
Wide mouth mason jars + fermentation weight + fermentation lid
I personally love these lids but they are pricey and the other ones work fine.
Np!
I was also gifted these weights for my mason jars and it makes things even easier throw in these airlock lids got these lids and now my ferments don't need any more day-to-day upkeep :)
You are welcome! I found quite a few others that will probably work just as well and shave off a few bucks too!
I'd avoid aluminum just so there's no off flavors.
I just bought these glass weights... 4 for $17. Seem to work swimmingly so far.
You can buy fermentation weights or use something small and heavy from your garage like a ball bearring: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B076V66FZ4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_i_202HFMD6WRC2ZAFV41G4
