A word of caution: this does not have a rotating head. I replaced the head with a rotating one from another stand I have. Definitely pros and cons with this stand, but it was cheap.
These are the ones I got. I don't see anything about max allowable weight. 28 lbs is quite heavy, but I doubt you'll have any problems if your desk is strong enough. The build of the monitor arms is quite solid and are probably able to sustain a much higher weight than they are rated for, as long as your desk can support the concentrated sheer and bending.
I'm looking to build something functionally equivalent to this:
It needs to support an 18lb monitor with a standard VESA mount setup. It also needs to be at least 24 in. high. Adjustable and articulating is a huge bonus but not a must.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
Possibly an adjustable monitor arm like this instead: [link] . They make them for holding several monitors.
