I got out in '07, so I don't think we had the same boots you have now, but after I got out I bought a pair of 5.11's and I fucking love them. Zippered side so they're fast to get on and off and they're comfortable as fuck. I've had them for about 6 months and I've put 50 or so miles on them with no issues. Dunno if they're in regs, though.
