There is nothing wrong with using a good pre made curry paste. Maesri is a good brand with authentic Thai ingredients. You can buy it on Amazon if you can't find it locally. Beware, it is pretty hot. https://www.amazon.com/4oz-Green-Yellow-Curry-Pastes/dp/B000QU3JM0/ref=sr_1_6_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1495500050&sr=1-6&keywords=curry+paste
Yep, pad thai is pretty easy.
Also, Maesri brand curry paste is a great base for making your own curry. With coconut milk, some veggies and protein, you have a pretty decent curry experience close to some restaurants. Of course, making your own curry paste is better, but I have lots of thai friends who prefer this brand (as do I).
Not really - chop up whatever veggies you like, sautéed them in some oil, make some rice, and mix some curry paste with a can of coconut milk and you’re done. I like this curry paste, but any will do: https://smile.amazon.com/Green-Yellow-Pastes-Original-Version/dp/B000QU3JM0/ref=sxts_rp_s1_0?crid=28QM1WMO2L8YU&cv_ct_cx=curry+paste&dchild=1&keywords=curry+paste&pd_rd_i=B000QU3JM0&pd_rd_r=4c85c68a-6c97-4fb0-b8a6-ee6ca1172358&...
Where do you get those? I don't think I've ever seen them at a local grocery store. Are the prices on Amazon reasonable? I'm seeing like this :. 6 Can (4oz. Each) of Thai Green Red Yellow Curry Pastes Set (Original Version) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000QU3JM0
Thai curry, per chance? My Thai mother-in-law uses this cheapo curry paste (can be found even cheaper if you have a local asian market nearby). You fry up the paste in oil and then add 1-2 cans of coconut milk to make the sauce. 1 can leaves it pretty spicy (though I'm white, soooo....). You could easily fry 2 cans of paste and add 4 cans of coconut milk and you'll have more delicious curry sauce then you'll ever need.
My friend that grew up in SE Asia uses this brand https://www.amazon.com/4oz-Green-Yellow-Curry-Pastes/dp/B000QU3JM0/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1506627094&sr=8-3&keywords=thai+curry+paste
She likes the pink can and the green can (and would kill me if she found out I call them like that) for those days you can't be bothered.
I just bought them and haven't used them, but I trust her taste in this sort of thing.
Super simple. First get these curry pastes (they are amazing).
For the wings I took:
1 can of green curry paste
2 cans of light coconut milk
2 limes
1 shot of tequila
and am letting them sit for ~36 hours. Then they are going to get grilled and tossed with a mixture of sriacha, vinegar and butter.
Seconding Maesri, it's absolutely amazing and VERY easy to prepare. I buy on Amazon
Try this stuff from Amazon; it's my favorite, and I've tried quite a few for my thai curry hankerings.
Surely Amazon.com has vegan curry paste.
