I have a male and a female in a 50G. I got this divider off amazon Link They have enough space in their own little sections and it lets water flow through. You can cut it to the size you need and its thick enough that they won't attempt to breed between it. I just blast it with hot water and a bristle brush real quick when it starts collect waste and slip it back in (Every other water change or so).
