The seiko is a bit cheaper on Amazon
I had the black one and felt the 37mm was too small, even though my wrist are tiny at 6.5".
This is probably your best bet: SNK803 I have the blue version and you can really make it look quite good with a leather strap. Great quality watch for the price.
Thank you for your input! Yes I was indeed misguided... I really liked you suggestion of the Timex Fairfield, but I have the impression it'll a tad big with 41mm, but I really appreciated the idea of buy a separate band, it open the options quite a lot. I would like to, be within $200CAD overall:
- Clean design, possibly minimalist
- White/Clear face
- Ideally between 36 and 38mm
- Leather strap (I may purchase separate leather bands if needed)
I found this one which I also like:
How do I which bands will fit?
-generic leather wallet
apple ear buds in case
keys on metal beads with dane 8gb flashdrive
-BRS barebones balisong
-Seiko 5 automatic wristwatch [link]
-pilot G-6 (07) pen
Zenith Elite Chronograph Classic ( 18.2270.4069/01.C498 ), since it is basically a refresh of the Zenith I received from my grandfather. This way, I keep the original, and get the "new" one free. Can't wear my grandfather's one, but at least I'd keep it.
Rolex GMT Master I ref. 16700 with the pepsi bezel. Same one my dad has. I don't really like the new GMTs. I think the bezels are too big.
I'd be fine with either one of those.
EDIT: Well, decided I'd also include a low-budget, third option.
Why get a 50USD one when I can ask for a Phillippe Dufour? IDK, but I think I'd use this one more freely since I wouldn't mind scratching it or anything.
Was looking in to the Seiko 5 series and they are similar in style with the Weekenders, which I quite like. However, they are mostly in black faces and I'm looking to get a white face as I already own a black face watch.
The only other similar one I found on Amazon at this price range is [link], though I'm not a fan of the strap colour, although that could be easily changed. Not too sure about an automatic watch though, as I've never owned one. Any thoughts?
I have a Seiko 5 Sport this one are there replacement saphire crystals available for this model. I know it ships with mineral glass, and I have managed to scuff mine quite badly.
I recently bough this Seiko SNK803. This is my first watch purchase.
The manual states that the expected error on the automatic movement is a loss/gain of up to 20 seconds per month. However, after I started wearing this watch on a daily basis (I got it just a couple weeks ago), I've found it gains around 20 seconds every day, and over the course of a week will end up a few minutes ahead.
I'm planning on returning it for this reason. I'm very happy with the look of the watch, I like the 37mm case because I have small wrists, I like the beige dial, and I like pilot watches.
If I get the SNK803 again, can I expect it to be more accurate? Was mine just a fluke, or do many automatic movements in the <$100 price range have gain/loss issues?
Cheap seiko automatic... mine has been fairly accurate with in a min each week. And is not worth crying over if something happens to it. Especially with theft being the main concern.
Seiko Men's SNK803 Seiko 5 Automatic Watch
Fairly tough construction of the watch... I am not nice to mine and wear it daily and it's been going strong for years (give or take a few dings and scratches)
