There are two lock mechanisms that Spyderco offers that are similiar to the axis lock, in that, they can be opened/closed with one hand and a swinging motion. Those mechanisms are the compression lock and their ball bearing lock. You can see the many ways of using the compression lock in this video and here is an example of a ball bearing lock.
The most common knife that people buy with the compression lock is the Paramilitary 2. The most common ball bearing lock-esque Spyderco that people buy is the Manix 2
Besides that, SOG has an Arc lock that is very similiar. Here are some of their knives that use the Arc lock and here is how it works.
Something with S30V steel. Holds a great edge.
Personally I carry a spyderco manix 2.
/u/DoctorCongo may be interested in the grip
And Manix 2 is 75 new from amazon or am I missing something?
This it? [link]
I found this one : [link]
But then I went to this page : [link]
And I don't think the one I found is anywhere on that page. I'm worried it's fake.
I'd choose either the Benchmade Griptilian/Mini Grip or the Spyderco Manix 2.
Both solid options, truly ambidextrous, have decent materials, great companies, warranty services and you couldn't go wrong with either.
