I'm curious about what things you see arise and why you believe them to be problematic?
I'm an MFT and it's concerning to me that you've got professors that are unwilling to discuss this with you outside of the idea that poly relationships are cheating. That's bordering on not giving you a good, well rounded education AND setting you up to potentially cause harm to people.
I'm also curious as to why the information you need must be peer-reviewed or researched? There are many good, reputable books on this topic written by very well known therapists and gender activists that would definitely help you understand poly relationships- but since this is sometimes viewed as "controversial " (meaning not straight, white, male centric) it gets pathologized when it shouldn't be.
