Actually, that may not be true
Edit: Graham Fuller, former top CIA analyst, wrote a book about this. He came to the conclusion that things may not be that much different than they are now.
I don't think living in a world without religion is ideal. Religions are important parts of almost every culture and provide mythology, moral systems, song and dance. A world without so much of that is insane.
You're assuming that the middle east without Islam would be a better place to live. May I refer you to this book by a former CIA employee. Essentially, he argues that many of the problems within the middle east would be present with or without Islam.
