I run just a basic vivosun filter, as I have found that no matter what route you go, they go bad around the same time anyways. I would rather spend $50 every 6 months than $100 every 8 months for a better filter. If that makes sense?

With my fan I just set desired temps and it adjusts CFM to match the range I set. It works well, up to like almost 400 CFM, but that's reduced by ≈25-30% with the filter attached

300 for a t4 isn’t a good deal. Amazon has them for 120-250 for the t4-t8. I think you have a t6, but you can tell because the diameter is the same as number. If you do have the t4 go ahead and order yourself some 4”-6” adapters and start running 6” vents. I have a t4 and that helped me a ton! I have a similar issue and may be adding 1-2 inline ac fan to the ducting to bring more air upstairs ($160ish) , have not settled on a brand though. Could that work for him as well?

I’d recommend this as well. I have an AC Infinity T6series as my exhaust and have an S6 for my intake fan which communicates with the T6. You could use just a T6 as in intake fan but ideally you want negative pressure pull air out so they get fresh air. I personally would set up a T6 as an exhaust fan before installing an intake fan. just to ensure negative pressure.. you’d be surprised how well a great exhaust fan can cool the tent.

Cool idea, it would be cool to see how much you even need GPU fans if there was that much airflow going directly to the GPU. Can confirm this fan is super quiet on 1-5 (out of 10), I can't comment on the other sizes of fans from them.

What about a temperature controlled duct fan to control the temperature in the room? Then you would just have to run the duct into a filter. Maybe something like this? Then a backflow preventer (like whats used on a dryer) on the exit vent.

Get a cloudline exhaust fan with sensor and you can set temperature and humidity high points that it will start exhausting faster if they are hit. As long as you have a humidifier to provide humidity and a light to provide heat then the cloudline should take care of the rest. It's not perfect, but its pretty damn good. Of course you could go the other direction and get an arduino and start programming shit but thats more work than I want at home. I automated enough shit at work.

So a few things.

Look at the T6, not the S6.

1. As to the light I'll take a different approach. Firstly, check out the kingbrite stuff. Same diodes and drivers as anything you'll buy off of amazon and a fraction of the price. Their 240W QBs are just insane for the price.

Second, don't try to light the whole tent at once. If you do a couple of smaller boards, you can stagger your light purchases. You'll get off the ground and growing faster, save some bucks and you can always buy another light down the road.

One QB 240 could grow 2-3 autos depending on how you arrange them in the tent.

Until you solve this, everything else is likely window dressing. You can do proper front-to-back, covered sides, etc. but even a medium-sized room will slowly creep up in temp in a day or so.

I used an inline duct fan, collect off the top rear of the rack and vent into the garage. Works pretty well...

I don’t own that fan myself, I have a cheaper one that is quite noisy, but will upgrade to this at some point. Anyone who I’ve read about having used it swears by it though.

You can get cheaper bundles, but because the noise of your fan is important to you (it wasn’t as important a factor for me) you probably will need to spend that bit extra on the fan.

As for filters, check out Rhino Pro, Mountain Air or Phresh filters. Mountain air is the most expensive of the three. The Rhino Pro I’m using has impressed me so far, no smell at all from my tent unless I open the door of it.

You could, as some one else here stated replace some of the obviously burnt components, try your best to find a kit on amazon of a various set of those components. And try your hand at soldering. You will have to do some research and learning to find the right values for the parts. It can be repaired but at what cost? But you can't go wrong trying to fix it cheaply because it's already a lost cause.

Thanks! The reason I was wondering about phosphorus deficiency is due to the purple stems and leaf veins. It was mentioned to me that was not normal. In all honesty, I thought the plants were ok before then. There are a few with some wilting leaves and some of the lower leaves on a few plants started to curl on the edges. It may have gotten too warm inside the tent the other day. I’m ordering a ventilation system on Thursday from Amazon. Here it is. Ventilation System It’s supposed to monitor the temp and humidity and adjust fan speeds as needed. Thank you for your help and also for that link! I’m going there now.

oh boi... alright here we go.

youll need duct fans for both ventilation and heat dissipation, especially if you go with HPS/MH lights 600/1000watts will require reflectors with ducting so you can connect to it. This will need to exhaust out of your tent. Then you will need a intake fan coming preferably from outside. Youll most likely also need a Carbon filter attached in series to your exhaust fan. Your light will have a ballast as well, which creates a good amount of heat so plan for that to be located outside your tent. Youll also need smaller fans in the corners so you can keep a good air circulation going (hurricane fans are great). Also consider using T5 lights when starting your seeds off as your higher wattage lights are not good for seedlings. Also get a few supplies like gorilla tape and duct clamps and anything else you might need to secure everything together.

When it comes to growing, even if you are only doing autos youll need smart pots, fertilizer, promix HP, perlite plus both vegging and flowering nutrients. Have access to PH up and down solution, and also get a Ph Pen + PPM meter (TDS).

I use an Cloudline T6 in my office (along with a T1-N and T2 in the rack itself) to rapidly evacuate the hot air that builds up during the work day from my rack.

I have the control panel mounted to the side of my desk right now with the T6 mounted in the window, blanking out all other air gaps.

Eventually this will get mounted into the ceiling above the rack, pulling the air into the existing HVAC ducts in the attic (and reduce the sound from the T6).

No growing here, other than growing the footprint of my servers and VMs.

4x4 tent, and it will yield 500-1000 grams every 3-4 months for 856$. So easily pays for itself many times over in just one grow. The setup uses top of the line samsung301b leds and will grow better then the dispensary bud. I used this exact setup to grow what you see in my profile.

Promix hpcc is a hydroponic medium using coco so if you decide to use it, you’ll want to keep ph between 6.0-6.5. Because it’s hydro, you’ll get better yields and quality then with soil if you decide to use it. It’s a good stepping stone to pure coco from soil because its a coco peat perlite blend. If you wanted to keep the organic soil though you could.

As for using the nutrients it’s pretty simple. Just look up the ec requirements for the stage of growth and then match that to the feed. Then make sure its 6.0-6.5 ph. And then take readings of runoff of ec and ph and make sure they match the feed. It just takes a couple minutes and it will ensure you never get any deficiencies or lockouts or overloads stopping them before it happens. As a general guideline, start with 1/4 the lowest recommended dosage on those bottles all salt nutrients are dosed way too high. You should get 1-2 grows (500-1000g) per bottle so it’s very cost effective

I use the same lights and inline fan. I used promix hpcc on my first run and I think it’s a great place to start. Promix hpcc is a mix between peat and coco but you basically treat it like coco but you want to run closer to 5.8- 6.5 ph rather then the 5.5-6.5 you do for coco. I like to hover around 6.0-6.2. I use the same seedling tray , ph and ec meter and nutrients as well.

That is to say, I use basically all the same stuff so there is no reason you won’t get the same results as me:)

Thanks for that link. This is what I have below. Cheaper, same CFM, definitely quiet and the controller is awesome. If the controller did wifi, that would be a home run, but its Bluetooth works very well.

the rest of the basement is fine getting cooled/conditioned fine? then I would just add a 6in ducted fan to pull air out of the room. something like this:

cut a hole in the media room drywall, put something like this, to make it look nice, and run some ducting along the floor over to where the basement air intake is. I wouldn't bother ducting it into the existing ductwork, just dump it out in the general area.

mess around with fan position, speed, etc. until it's good, then have someone come make a drywall bulkhead to make it look nice.

you'll probably want the fan farther from the room to make it quieter.

you probably want to pull from the top of the room and from as close to the heat sources as possible.

you may also want a dehumidifier in the basement if you're going to have people down there breathing and creating humidity, but maybe your AC can handle that if you feed the air back to it.

I've never used the iPower. I made sure my budget didn't skip out of quality lights or inline fan - they're super important for plant growth. I can say that if you've got the extra cash, the AC Infinity Inline fans are the way to go. I find it hard to believe that in their price range there's a quieter or better built fan.

I bought the T6 with the control module but you could get away with a 4" which is cheaper.

Not listed is the jug of distilled white vinegar for pH down. I have a bottle of nectar for the gods olympus up but never had to pH up. Also my soil is purple cow indicanja. I also did not link this but I’m really considering getting some saucers for the fabric pots to sit in, less mess for when it runs off while watering. Also humidity domes are cool but I didn’t want to spend the money, you can make your own out of a 2 liter bottle or a large Gatorade/Powerade bottle.

Get one of these things, a dehumidifier, maybe even a small ac unit that you can use to cool the tent.

Not sure where the cold air return is yet. For pulling air in the plan was to just leave the door a few inches short of the floor. Since aesthetic of this closet is also important, the door will be mostly glass. Since posting I've found this in duct fan that people seem to be raving about.
