Have you ever tried acne patches? https://www.amazon.com/Acne-Cover-Patch-Calendula-Count/dp/B0797K1KN3/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=acne+patches+large&qid=1622782510&sprefix=acne+patches+&sr=8-4
Put them on maybe an hour before bed (after gently washing and thoroughly air drying) and sleep with them on. Gently remove in the morning and allow everything to air out before washing.
You do have some possible scarring, but you have to clear up the infections and inflammation around those areas before you can start clearing out scars- otherwise they won’t be able to heal.
I also use these when I have a large area flare up, but I don't like cutting them down too small.
A big part of my next derm appointment is discussing how I can get off the chemicals so I can get pregnant. It'll be interesting to see if it helps or hurts my acne. Until then, I'm trying to drill down my skincare routine.
No worries, I'm happy to help :) I'm glad at least someone can benefit from all the stuff I've tried. And I totally understand, it's a tough time right now. :/ I was paying so much more in doctor visits (the keloid reaction comes with anaphylaxis and other fun stuff) and ridiculously priced creams from Whole Foods that I've been able to justify spending on AB since it's preventing the reaction. Never would have guessed I was allergic to stuff like aloe vera and other unavoidable things in western products, evolution was really sleeping on the job.
Anyway, I don't know if the stridex pads will be too harsh but in theory it should work, if it starts to dry out your skin I would switch to just the AHA until you get the others tho. I did a quick search of natural BHA to see if I could find anything that you might already have, but I didn't have much luck. There are a lot of cosrx toner sets from the holidays that are on sale right now, so that might be something to look at, although I bet someone in r/asianbeautyexchange would be happy to send you some samples of the toner if you explain what you're trying to do, they're super helpful over there. :) Also, I do have some new toner coming this week. Assuming you're not somewhere that would make it ridiculously expensive to ship, I could pour most of it into my old bottle and send you the new one with enough to get you by for a while (especially if you're only putting it on one place). I totally understand if you'd rather wait though, but I thought I'd offer. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss it. :)
Also, the other poster told me about these larger patches, that might be a better option than the Purito depending on the size — I'm getting them today if you want to wait to hear what I think.
So I've been using this. It says it has hydrocolloid technology. It's pretty thin. I have the Cosrx one but I needed something that will cover a larger area on my chin. I haven't tried other brands really but the that one has been working just fine for me. Took a few tries for me to figure out how to apply the patches in a way that goes along the contours. See if it works for you! 🤞
You can get bigger ones! Here is one on Amazon - they are about 2 inches square.
Avarelle (available on amazon) makes extremely thin patches in square shapes that you could cut into strips. The thinness also helps them cling to tricky areas! I'll link them below. They also contain tea tree and calendula oil, which is nice. They work really well for me! I usually get 4-6 uses per square by cutting them.
These work wonders for me - clear and gentle. Can wear over night. Also come in different shapes. Avarelle Acne Pimple Patch (8... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0797K1KN3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Same. One thing that’s helped me is to cover the spots I’d be tempted to pick at. If I can cover it to the point that the area feels “smooth”, I won’t pick at it.
These are the products I’ve been using for this - the tegaderm is best if you need to cover large areas:
Acne Pimple Patch Absorbing Cover Blemish (XL Square / 8 PATCHES)
Acne Pimple Patch Absorbing Cover Blemish (PM Overnight / 24 PATCHES)
3M tegaderm Roll 2" x 11Yd Transparent Film Dressing (Each), 16002
I’d attack that with the Ordinary Salicylic Acid Mask and then get some pimple patches on there overnight. But obviously you want to try and figure out what cased this? Any new products in your life? I have to be careful about what I put in my hair. I have no idea what specific ingredients bother me, but some hair products seem to cause breakouts for me.
Not at all! I got the Hydrocolloid bandages at Walgreens, their store brand, but Band-Aid makes them too. They’re usually marketed as blister bandages. I actually slapped one of these on my biggest problems before I even got the acne patches (I was impatient). I think they might have been even more powerful than the acne patches. It was ugly, but I did it overnight, so who cares? :)

I totally get the urge to pick and pop and I know the struggle is very real to avoid it haha I second the advice about using hydrocolloid bandages to keep you from touching any cysts that come up. Sadly I don't have any advice for atrophic/indented scars and agree with the commenter above about seeing your derm for a solution for that. Here is one tip that has totally changed the cyst game for me as you move forward.
I usually get one cyst per menstrual cycle on my cheek and I saw on this subreddit that some people were using baby diaper rash/nappy cream on them because they're basically zinc oxide-heavy topicals. I did some research about which creams to use and settled on the Target Up And Up brand diaper rash ointment with 40% zinc oxide because it doesn't contain mineral oils but if you have other sensitivities obviously do a little research for something that'd work for you. I dab on the ointment and use a large hydrocolloid patch (like these or these, sometimes cut into smaller pieces to get more use out of them) to cover the spot. This will keep the cream from getting on your pillow. Leave that on overnight.
This method has taken cysts that typically get super red and inflamed/take literal weeks to disappear about two nights of zinc oxide coverage to totally go away, leaving a small pink mark behind versus a bright red spot. As I'm sure you know, skincare is totally personal and YMMV, but I wanted to pass that along since I know cysts can be so awful to deal with!
