I had an Aerobed PakMat which I highly recommend. The case doubles as a hand pump, so you dont have to worry about batteries or power outlets in the middle of the night. Yeah you look ridiculous pumping it but I was always one of the first ones in bed every night. The case is hard plastic too so you dont have to worry about it getting ripped under the bus. That and a thin sleeping bag and pillow filled the top half of my suitcase. I thought it worked out great.
