Muna and Broad design simple modern pieces, Cashmerette designs patterns that are often more complicated and fitted. Her new book about fitting is fantastic, and it comes with patterns too. Highly highly recommend.

But ultimately, learn to sew basic garments (bodice, skirt, trousers) for the order of assembly and general knowledge, then create your own slopers (basic garment templates that fit you perfectly) which you can then modify into any style you like.
